why on every earthmoving video do people like pointing out minor mistakes and criticising what the driver is doing ? nobody is a perfect driver ! and all drivers are the same , doing a days work to earn a living.
We have a PC220. That seat sucks too. And as far as our Komatsu dozers go, the door handle/latch mechanisms suck balls. They never stay closed, and you are always locked out.
@norWISequipment It got hydrovaced (basically a truck with a pressure washer and a big suction hose) which is a non destructive method of digging. Once the pipeline was found we took shots off the top of the pipe to see how much cover we had on top.
Man you have patience, I would have been looking for a way to fix that fricking seat before that first truck left. Working the machine is bad enough on the body but add to that the uncontrollable seating, frig sakes. On the bright side though you make some really good videos for me to watch on the phone while I'm waiting for the damn frenchie cause he got lost again, anyways keep your tracks spinning and the ladies grinning good buddy. Stay safe.
I get your frustrations. ground guy must think you load over the cab. he is slow at grade checking. about the seat I agree the seat is not bolted down sucks but komotsu seats break fast. low grade bolts. CAT
Oh now aimed at you obviously, but anyone else who might see this and think they have a reason for an argument "Because I am trained and have done this for years" kinda thing, is already thinking in the wrong frame of mind and aint gonna learn or listen. Surprised you do not have an engineer to sort your seat out, it would drive me nuts. Love your videos, so thanks for the upload if I forgot to say. Take care. mrbluenun
You are my equipment hero!!!!this seemed like a 3 minute video(cause I enjoyed it so much) can you do a video of your WHOLE shift!!!! That would be awesome...please respond :')
Hi Jason, Many thanks for the interesting upload. It is not the same I know but it is the only comparison I have from personal knowledge. These people who can’t get the trucks right way round or truck drivers who can’t think for themselves. It is like what I used to do a trained painter and decorator, no problem doing anything. But I really do not know of any trained painter and decorator that understand the reason for doing things in a particular order, what they are is paint thrower, they
how do you mount your camera like that, we have several komatsu's and all they have is that little gay shelf that sits way to low do put anything on it
I've been the spotter, I've been the hoe hand, I've been the truck driver over many miles of pipe laying and the biggest problem is always communication. When everybody knows their job, it goes off smooth. Maybe somebody needs to own the truck travel path mixup. Over hp gas or fiber I pothole every hundred feet for cya. That seat would piss me off quick. My Hitachi has a wonderful seat, but the joysticks are too low and non adjustable so ya gotta sit with yer knees together somewhat.
I'm sure the CanOSH would love to give "fluffy" a talking to because of his proximity to the swing and the lack of a friggin' hard hat in a construction zone. Also, I'm more than certain that the owner of that pipeline SHOULD HAVE been informed and present during construction, so that company safety guidelines are followed...
I'm pretty sure you should look up some facts before you make yourself look like a fool, the utility owner came out before the work started, there was a crossing agreement in place and the spotter is not in the swing zone nor has any overhead hazards.
vantagetes these dummies got no clue commenting on shit with no experience. Crap, you were lucky enough to even have a spotter that can locate it for you. down in miami firstly no one speaks english, they don't pay and no one knows anything. I'm always digging with very very rough understandings of where all my utilities are, I just spent a week clearing and grubbing without locates and ontop of existing drainage. it's insane. But we get shit done. Thats the industry standard no matter how non-PC it is..
It goes alright considering the life it's had, feel a bit like Fred flintstone digging rock with his dinosaur though, but it runs 24/7 and never gives any trouble, and surprise surprise the seat rattles!! I'll have to check the new one out, it's about 600 hours now, I'll give a seat report when I jump Back On that one again
ive had to actually dig up pipelines like that with a backhoe and it is nerve racking to do it knowing what could happen to you if your spotter isn't paying attention
Ya so what he said is true you can get like a $120 fine if you are loaded and not tarped on the road the DOT will stop you for that and then check you for every thing else but if you are on site and your not tarped they can not stop you thank you by bye
@boardingpass04 Already did, had to get the pipeline company out too. But yes this is a good example of why you should know what's under you at all times!
I have never had a seat shift around like that. What a POS. I ran a Volvo EC240C all last week and it has been my favorite of all time, even more so than the Cats and Deere's. It was so smooth, quiet, resposnive and strong that it was not even what I would consider "working" for a living. Such a sweet running machine. This fucking thing is like a stone age hoe compared to it.
@RMosher11 We own two PC200s because they are small enough to fit on the float we have for our tandem. Their sole purpose is to dig basements however if there is a lul earthworks will steal them to do a little support work.
*facepalm* my "spotter" was directing the trucks to come in backwards so I'd either have to stop them way ahead or swing over the cab. That's why I was swearing at him, that's not how to load trucks! After I sorted it out they drove around the correct way like you see in the video.
Quite simple ratchet and socket fix, then again its impossible for a techno mechanic to address the condition appropriately... need upper escutcheon approval I' m sure! I am familiar with this type of operation anyway. Fill out form that never gets submitted or answered!~ blah blah blah! Have a great day!
Just typical high quality Komatsu equipment the seat probably rattled since new. Why would they have residential houses that close to a high pressure pipe line ?
Wouldn't think you'd want the 385 ME with burly rock teeth for this - that rice burning 200 with small teeth is probably about right. Besides, why blow a 385 to kingdom come when you can just waste a little Komatsu? No need to fix the seat then.
+blackelk7373 Anybody can Load Trucks Try Digging A Ditch while on A Hill so Steep that you have to have A D9 Dozer chained up to you so you don't Slide to the Bottom .
I agree, anyone can load trucks but most do it in a sloppy fashion. This guy has seat time and skill in a ho. Loading with a cat 980c or g loader, 966 cat loader, Volvo 180-220's I get in his ass, most asses : ), but I need seat time in an excavator for sure.
Ronnie Lemaster as for digging on a steep grade, sounds hairy, I wish I could get in on some of that, but you know how it is, younger guys usually are stuck in rubber tires, loader rocktrucks exc...Have to pay your dues just like any craft I guess. Well unless a guy has superb ass kissing skills. They tend to rise to the top. Get the fun jobs.
change the colour of the surface or the age of the paint by loading as much paint, as poss’, often without even stirring it, onto any surface and think they have a skill, quite simply they do not. No one ever tells them, what should be done by, again a properly trained site agent, so these guys go from job to job doing something that makes no damn difference like painting lamp post, think they know it all and when asked to ‘cut in they give a blank look! A bit like untrained staff on your site.
@falouchelo Your feller bunches has carbide teeth spinning at 20,000 rpm, an excavator does not. Your road builder knocks down trees, loading trucks does not have branches crashing down. If he were UNDER my bucket there would be a hardest requirement. As he is outside my swing radius and there is no overhead hazard he doesn't need one!
Do you own a car? What if it exploded in the garage? Or someone drove through your house? It's not common that sour gas lines run through subdivisions, you're more likely to notice that rotten eggs smell every once in awhile more than the risk of blowing up. I personally keep a tinfoil hat in the house. It protects against mind reading, alien attack and H2S.
When did I say I was the best? If people make retarded comments I simply point out their stupidity. Like the jackass below me who thinks hacking and slashing 3 ft above a high pressure (800psi) pipeline is a good idea. The other most common one is OMG YOU SPILLED A LITTLE BIT OF DIRT OFF THE SIDE OF YOUR GIANT HEAPING FULL BUCKET ON THE SIDE OF THAT OFF-HIGHWAY ROCK TRUCK. People have no clue but they insist on telling us we're doing it wrong. We simply call them out.
Fuck that seat would drive me nuts
Ilike your sense of humor about the trucks, the guy walking around and the gas line...
why on every earthmoving video do people like pointing out minor mistakes and criticising what the driver is doing ? nobody is a perfect driver ! and all drivers are the same , doing a days work to earn a living.
we have had our differences over machines but i think we will agree that that seat would drive me mad nice driving
that seat would do my head in
Nice video 👌
Nice job 👌
Two questions. Are those the same controls as cat ? Could u make a vid of how to make a bench on top of a pile please ?
I live for these videos! Great video, Miss your ckeep them coming!
how about the guy in shorts walking around a high pressure gas line wonder where the safty inspecter was
Don't need one u dummy he is untop of it walk down ur Street and ask ur self the same question wow people r dumb

very smooth, another gr8 vid
Smooth operating.
Man you have patience, I would have been looking for a way to fix that fricking seat before that first truck left. good to see you on a komatsu, now you can go easy on the jokes about my pc2000
yeah your chair does sound like something is wrong with it, and nice looking machine:)
How do you know how deep the pipe is with a laser, did they dig down by hand an find it our something, or give a BM somewhere?
the new komatsu rock trucks have those seat problems mostly the air ride leaks air so it makes for an uncomfortable ride
I get your frustrations. ground guy must think you load over the cab. he is slow at grade checking. about the seat I agree the seat is not bolted down sucks but komotsu seats break fast. low grade bolts. CAT
BTW I like the cutting edge on the bucket I want to use them on my machine!!
Oh now aimed at you obviously, but anyone else who might see this and think they have a reason for an argument "Because I am trained and have done this for years" kinda thing, is already thinking in the wrong frame of mind and aint gonna learn or listen. Love your videos, so thanks for the upload if I forgot to say.
Take care.

How did you end up on a Komatsu? Kidco have a few other than the Deere and Cats?
is the seat lose or its just fucked up?
i love those buckets with the tiny teeth never see them in the uk !
Hi Jason,

Im sure the chest camera mount didn't shoot very good with a broken seat n all! Great video
If you had a P.A. system you could yell at people at a very high volume. That would totally rock.
I don't think I could sleep at night in a house that close to something that could blow the house apart.
thats a handsome spotter u got there
You still in the the diggers man ? Cool videos .
Whats it like getting work as an operator there and whats pay like ?
Thanks B
how do you mount your camera like that, we have several komatsu's and all they have is that little gay shelf that sits way to low do put anything on it

what do you mean your loading trucks backwards? you dont load over the cabs do ys?
Looks like Calgary too
It goes alright considering the life it's had, feel a bit like Fred flintstone digging rock with his dinosaur though, but it runs 24/7 and never gives any trouble, and surprise surprise the seat rattles!! Back
On that one again
"The seat shakes so much... boat2ripitowt! "
I see you worked for killco. manage to make it out of there alive?
ive had to actually dig up pipelines like that with a backhoe and it is nerve racking to do it knowing what could happen to you if your spotter isn't paying attention
is that a dash 7 or dash 8 komatsu
What kind of work do you do? I'm not sure what kind of construction to consider it.
HEO
wondered why you were a little uptight... then i hear about the gas line :)
Jason, how do u still get to run equipment if ur a foreman?? do u fill in for operators if they call off for that day or something??
what happened to digging the pipe out by hand
How easy is it to get into running equipment in Alberta?
pretty easy you see him right hahaha.
how much pressure is on the pipe?
How many yard bucket is that?
That seat is all jerky jerky lol
i ran a pc200 four a week and the seat was good
U spread the load out not a pile on top of the truck
Ya so what he said is true you can get like a $120 fine if you are loaded and not tarped on the road the DOT will stop you for that and then check you for every thing else but if you are on site and your not tarped they can not stop you thank you by bye
Haha... I get annoyed like that with my ground guys too. I felt like I was listening to myself.
Great video would rate mines.I take a class a HEOperator at the school to obtain a license.
you must have 1 dumb spotter and wut kind of cutting edge is on the bottom of the bucket
@boardingpass04 Already did, had to get the pipeline company out too. But yes this is a good example of why you should know what's under you at all times!
Northern ontario accent?

looks like your helper better not walk on the pipe he might bust it,with the extra psi he is putting on it
*facepalm* my "spotter" was directing the trucks to come in backwards so I'd either have to stop them way ahead or swing over the cab. That's why I was swearing at him, that's not how to load trucks! After I sorted it out they drove around the correct way like you see in the video.
Haha that Mike!
whats the bucket called? with those teeth
Gratz1333 serrated tooth edge
Some one steal the 385?
@Richboyrich26 Possible but that would take forever to upload!
Quite simple ratchet and socket fix, then again its impossible for a techno mechanic to address the condition appropriately... need upper escutcheon approval I' m sure! I am familiar with this type of operation anyway. Fill out form that never gets submitted or answered!~ blah blah blah! Have a great day!
he a good driver wood love a go in that looks like the best job going
Put that guy on the underground crew! Then he'd maybe lose a few pounds
YOLO man!!! Upload a shift!!!!!!
Just typical high quality Komatsu equipment the seat probably rattled since new. Why would they have residential houses that close to a high pressure pipe line ?
that no joke there seat do sucks

god that seat would be missing and a milk crate would be in its place.
DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT THIS MANS JOB IS? IT LOOKS FUN AS HELL AND I WANT TO WORK THAT JOB!!!!!
excavator operator. (also commonly known as track hoe or backhoe)
daniel Heafey He is a Heavy Equipment Operator, and by the looks of his skill level, he is a Union Operator.

Your angry we’re only here for a little chill it’s just dirt you must be a pleasure to work for
call before you dig kids
komatsu's and there fucking seats ..
I have the joys of playing in a pc800lc-8 12 hours a day. it doesn't have that problem thank god. smaller ones to for some reason

fuckin seat i had the same issue on a 240D this winter... sucks ball riping with a seat like that !
Good God that seat is 10x worse then are Ex60 that has 10000+ Hours on it.
Because this is Alberta....where isn't there pipeline?
@pintens1986 They also all have windows...
i like the teeth on your bucket.
a scraper blade:)
@TheTrashman249 My record is 397 in 7 hours 15 min loading 740s with the 385C L Powerstripe.
Ran a 270, 400, 450, and a 750 and all of them had shit seats.
Doubt it....How much wood, could a PC2000chuck chuck if a PC2000chuck wasn't such a raging piece of shit?
Should get a new seat
When the pipe has 800psi if you nicked it just right it would peel open like a sardine can.
all seats are bad in komatsu diggers and there dozrs as well .get whiplash in them
Same issue with our Komatsu Dozers.
Get that seat fixed, that must be a pain in the ASS to be jostled around with the slightest movement all day long.
top vet top vet
interesting.

Run spare piece to fix this or that up and jump in for critical tasks if there is no one suitable available.
haha fukn komatsu, row row row your boat!!! ALLL DAY!!! I can't stand them things tbh. I think I have a few videos bitching them.
Do you own a car? What if it exploded in the garage? Or someone drove through your house?
