  • This Parkanson Power Hacksaw was rescued from a scrap yard and restored over a period of a year .
It has hydraulic down feed and raises after the cut is finished and automatically shuts off.
The machine was originally manufactured by Theo Park and Sons Engineers Melbourne Australia circa 1950

The Parkason name is the maker George Park of Melbourne Australia circa 1915 . Parkanson is derived from Park and Son .The mahine raises and switches off so that it can be left running while you do some thing else .Its lowered a fter you set up the material for the next cutting operation .

Hi there. This is a marvellous power hacksaw machine. An amazing piece of mechanical engineering. Thank you so much for sharing this video.

That is fantastic! I could watch a power hacksaw run all day. I tried to buy a few at clearing sales a couple of years back but people were paying ridiculous money for 'antiques' to put in their gardens!

Up close, I can watch when I turn to pick you up? Not mine unfortunately, I can not set, you might be missing something alkatrészem? Work at all, but I can not set the felemelést option. I want to link more closely the lifting. Thank you. The plane, being almost completely. John Of Hungary. tjanos@oultlook.hu

Looks beautiful!! I just picked up an almost identical Parkanson except mine spins the other way to cut the same on the down stroke?

I just found a very old rare Racine distributed by Norton and Broadway in Cincinnati Ohio. They haven't been able to determine the age the guy from Ozark told me it's very very old. It actually has World War 1 era half by 12 threads all over it. From what I've read they discontinue those in about 1930 is part of the National Standard. The things in beautiful shape now that I've cleaned it up I've done some repairs but something's been bothering me. It seems to cut on the backstroke correct? Your seems to do that as well as it seems to lift it self on the forward stroke indicating it would be cutting on the backstroke. Is that correct?

Most saws cut on the back stroke against the fixed jaw of the vice .

    Hi,
I have a similar model machine.
    Do you have the manual?
    Thanks. Ian

I have never seen one that raises I would never use that feature(can you turn that off?) just seems weird and a waste of energy. Cool video though!

I believe it was designed to raise itself so you could slide the bar forward and reverse the feed to continue sawing.

yeh and that arm is VERY heavy, I just bought a similar model today and its one big lump of iron, you need the hydraulic if your doing a lot of cutting
