The major hills in Peninsular Malaysia are Cameron Highlands, Genting Highlands, Penang Hill & Bukit Tinggi. British planters in the early days either lived or retreated to the hills for the cooler climate. Cameron Highlands was developed by the British for Ceylonese tea plantations. Hence the famous 'Boh" Tea & its plantation in Cameron Highlands. British settlers had left behind quite a bit of their British legacy at this highlands. The highlands also grow a lot of tropical vegetables & fruits for local consumption & for export to Singapore. Genting Highlands started off as a casino resort. Today its casino revenue has contributed to a lot of this hill's development into a major Malaysian holiday/amusement/shopping resort & tourist attraction. Bukit Tinggi nearby to Genting Highlands is an interesting attraction. Do check it out. A good place for hikers.

Butterfly pea (bunga talang) is also a well known cooking ingredient here considering it is easily found anywhere in Peninsular Malaysia. Malays use it in nasi kerabu, as well as assorted kuih containing sticky rice.
@@TAKEKOCHI Google for a picture of butterfly blue pea flowers. It's deep purple or royal blue colour. Malaysians normally extract its colour for colouring steamed local cakes & rice. Local "Nasi Kerabu" uses the colour of this flower to make blue coloured rice. The "Nyonya" (Malay/Chinese mixed race Malaysians, popularly found in Melaka state) uses the flower colour in their Nyonya Rice Dumplings.

We would like to visit some of the major hills in Malaysia for hiking and casinos.
@@TAKEKOCHI There is also Fraser's Hill, a British colonial era hill station. Good for hikers. Also near to Genting Highlands.
Hope you enjoy it
Thank you! Cameron Highlands was a nice place!
