Fetishes are common and should be explored with boundaries and safe words. I'm disappointed at how shallow this episode was - Boss Johnathon keeps mentioning feces.
The psychology behind fetishes are actually quite interesting;
Roleplaying/dress ups fetishes could stem from people who likes special attention from key figures or people with authorities (could be a nurse, policeman or a pilot etc) that they would otherwise not have in real life.
Underwear smelling fetishes could stem from people who get off from knowing that they have access to something so intimate as someone's private part smell. It could even be armpits.
Rape fetishes could stem from wanting raw selfish passion channeled sexually.
BDSM could be because someone lacks control in their life, therefore wanting to be in complete control of someone else's senses in the bedroom
etc etc
This topic has so much potential to explore the complexities of human nature and here you guys kept talking about shit. Props to JP for keeping things objective tho. But good effort for wanting to discuss something that is not commonly discussed in an Asian community. You guys came up with many insightful discussions in other videos which i've enjoyed, unfortunately this video falls short. This comment isnt to hate tho, just a feedback for improvement if being insightful and spreading awareness is the objective of your discussions.

Just to add to the discussion, i have said fetish being discussed in the podcast, i felt ashamed about it for years and still am. I reflected on it quite abit and found that it is an association in which the clothing is associated to her on a daily basis, having the strongest scent, the brain then made the association of excitement from seeing her in it to the piece of clothing it self and then start to generalise to other clothing. I think one kwy takeaway i learn dealing with the shame associated with fetishes is that it does not define you as an individual and is not a problem till it becomes a problem like the relationship being discussed.
If i was to advise the gf I would find a way to discuss with the partner in a not judgemental way, if this issue cannot be resolved a licensed sexologist may be able to help in either accepting the matter or changing it depending on the desired outcome of the couple .
