    It's hard to compare Ally to Steam Deck. They're a bit apples and oranges when you consider that one is a portable gaming console and the other is a portable windows PC that games.

    you got GTA 6 PC port discourse and news of a publisher shutting down, but the headliner is Astro Bot being bigger than a pack-in game
    I think someone's excited

    Genuinely happy for all the Astro Bot heads. I never finished Playroom, so can't see myself trying the new one before it hits PS+.

    I love Astro, but there’s no way I’m paying 70 dollars (which Sony believes is 80 euro here)

  • @OrangeLightning
    @OrangeLightning 4 месяца назад +8

    Not sure that I agree on being ok with Astro Bot being $70/€80, mainly because this generation Sony has not done a lot to convince me that their ideas of which games are worth that price are the same as mine. But knowing that they charged that price for the Sackboy game definitely leads me to believe that they will for Astro Bot too. It's probably easier to say you'll be ok with it if you're expecting to receive a code for it early too.

      Brother the other astro bot games are great. Why would an even bigger astro game not be great? And if it's great it's worth full price

    • @OrangeLightning
      @OrangeLightning 4 месяца назад +1

      @@AlabamerhammerNever said it wouldn't be great, as a matter of fact I agree, Astro's Playroom and Rescue Mission are great, but $70 (or in my country €80) is a lot of money and I don't think I've played any games this generation that have justified the leap it will be hard to justify it for Astro Bot.

      @@RenoisticThis is my whole thing. 70 80 hell 10000 it doesn't matter the price pay when it's the price you wa t to pay

      Honestly, more games need to go back to 60$. That said, I'll happily pay 70$ for Astro, but I think video games in general need a bit of a price reset. The consoles and games are too expensive for casual audiences.

    Not sure I see what all the fuss is over that FF7R3 headline. It seemed like a pretty innocuous thing for the devs to say. Like yeah, they want to make the combat even better. That's what they do with sequels. Why the confusion and disappointment? Where did the hypothetical about making it more like FF16 even come from? You guys really went off the rails on this one.

    38:00 Regarding FF modern combat discussion....I don't like it.
    Just want to get my voice out there since they mentioned its not out there on social media. I can accept if its a hot take but I did NOT enjoy FF7 Remake combat...I actively disliked FF15's. I don't own a PS so I haven't played FF16 or Rebirth yet.
    To me the heights of FF combat were the following for the following reasons:
    FF4 - Character limitations and unique abilities combined with turn based tactics
    FF10 - Characters with CLEAR advantages vs enemy types and on the fly swapping. Super fun.
    FF13 - The absolute best of hybrid action/turn based play to me. I'd rather FF stay turn based but this take on action was fantastic.
    Its not FF but I'd put Octopath Traveller and Ruined King as games in this space doing combat extremely well. Ruined Kings was just super satisfying in its simplicity and Octopath explores taking advantages of weaknesses in a way that's intuitive, doesn't need a guide and is absolutely fantastic.
    If I had my way...FF17 would just be Octopath game play with FF7 Remake levels of visuals, characters and storytelling. Part of me would love to see FF in a bit of a smaller scale as well. Imagine FF4's story before they introduce the underworld or the moon. Those first 10 hours or whatever of FF4 are incredible and fleshing something like that out with better characters and world building seems like it would totally work.

    They can charge however much they want as a starting price for Astro Bot. I will pay the same price I pay for every game, which is $20.

      Yeah 20/30€ is the sweet spot for me too. (Unless it’s From Software, then I can’t control myself)

    I personally disliked the combat in rebirth so much I stopped playing. The fact that it's hybrid is what makes it weak. Pick action or turn based and perfect that. Doing halfsies on both means it's never the best at anything. I am an old school turn based fan, but I vastly preferred the combat in ff 16 over rebirth.

      this is such a wild take to me. Combat was the highlight for me for rebirth and remake and I sought out as many fights as possible. Each to their own though!

    Emma sounds a bit delusional. Astro is not a franchise like Mario. People will not happily pay $70 for this game.
