Good tutorial, Dave! I love your methodical approach to trouble shooting. I was a senior technician at a company in the 90s. Occasionally I would help out less experience technicians. This poor trainee once was troubleshooting a stage that needed some help on, an output of an op amp had the wrong polarity. When I glanced down, I noticed he had the leads to the meter reversed! Those things can happen............

I just picked one of these up, have to clean it up and check it out. My main project is to fix up some Texar Prisms to go with my 8200.

That is a good combo. Let us know what you think when you get it all working.

Hi Dave, is there a way to modify the output from a composite, to a seperate balanced/unbalanced L & R signal to use in a production or stream setting? Thanks!

You can rewire the test outputs to take the signals just as they go into the composite combiner. See if it will do what you want at the test outlets before you dig into it though. It might.
