This cushion is so gooooood! If you are concerned about sweaty backs staining the wall…. What about mounting like a thrifted quilted piece? You can change it out depending on season/vibe and throw it in the wash.
Thank you for showing the outlet installation process! I get so scared of making mistakes and getting sad/frustrated that I don't even begin projects. Seeing you get stressed AND problem-solve your way out was so inspiring to me.
I think if you're concerned about the veneer splintering/breaking when you put too much tension on the outlet, you can put some framing pieces behind the veneer for the screws to bite into. that way there's something solid to resist against the pulling on the screws. just put a horizontal member above and below the outlet opening between your vertical members.
Ahh I’m literally trying to build my own breakfast nook with exactly the same space size as you but with less skills than you. I love your energy and process and totally relate to your exasperation and dialog😂
Love the stripes🎉 For the next pillowcase, you can slide the batting and cushion through the short opening then hand sew that instead of the long side.
Yes that was my initial thought, but I absolutely underestimated how long hand stitching would take. I was like oh I need to practice my ladder stitch anyway lol 😂
Yay, I actually just watched the first part of the breakfast nook yesterday or the day before and was impatient for the next one. It came out at the perfect time 😊
The cushion looks great! Love that you went for contrast piping. Congrats on finishing another program of your schooling. Could the marble be used for a desk in your office? Or if it's not the right size for that maybe an outdoor table? Happy holidays!
great job mui!! it looks great!! i was wondering if you would leave the back open somehow, or maybe have some sort of closures where you can remove the cover to throw in the wash sometimes.
lmao so much gritted teeth this episode XDD i was actually thinking about your mom when you went to the fabric store(s), and then you mentioned that she would have thoughts about this XDD. i always associate your mom with fabric and sewing for some reason.
Curved shapes, contrast piping, and striped fabric!? Brava for challenging yourself AGAIN. But so worth it.
Thank you!! I guess I like to make life difficult for myself 😬

Absolutely! Sometimes it’s worth taking those risks 💕

Yes!! Blocking underneath would be a great idea! I’ll need to get longer screws to hit it
I love your content and you energy. The struggle, the tenacity, the creativity! ❤🎉

i'm guessing she chose that side because it would be facing the wall 🤔

Great idea!! I definitely want to find a home for this marble piece
You could mount the back cushion to your wall.. I'm not sure how that would look or if it has been done like that.
I’ve seen wall mounted back cushions! But I liked the lumbar support the bolster offered
