I love how because Carl isn't actually a big Godzilla fan, the game takes extra measures to show him Goji's origin story and pair him up with more recognizable monsters. How very thoughtful of the spooky video game.
I didn't interpret it as that, thanks. I thought it was just because Carl doesn't know who Melissa is and the cartridge had to change tones to scare him.
To be fair, isn't it explained that the cartridge itself taps into your mind and molds itself into a unique experience for you? The experiment logs suggest that too as different subjects have different experiences (which happen to be supported by the original story being a totally different experience too)
This means Melissa isn't real and the game just made Melissa up to mess with Zach more. Who knows why it did this, it just seems more believable than "Hehehe your girlfriend is stuck in game!!! Ruh roh she give you new monster to defeat me!!" and adds onto this whole story. Also, sorry I'm late.
Warlock doesn't seem anywhere near as malicious as Red was in the original. The first time Red was encountered, he immediately tried to kill Zach, meanwhile Warlock warned Carl multiple times before attacking, and even tried to trick him into giving up. If I had to guess, I'd say that he's trying to get Carl to quit playing before he runs into something like Red.
I like to imagine that after the MC defeats Warlock or collects all of the keys (which are meant to represent the seven deadly sins), Warlock would say "you doom us. You doomed us all." in his last dying breath. Another theory I have is that Usol could possibly be Red in a weaker form.
The creator confirmed that Warlock is "evil as hell". while it may currently seem to be not malicious, we have no idea what it really wants to do to Carl.
Wish there was more creepy pasta like this where you get screen shots to emerse you into the story alot more this idea is way ahead of most gaming creepy pasta stories
My favorite thing about this sequel is the contrast between the protagonists of both stories. Zachary from the original pasta is a dedicated Godzilla fan who recognizes even the most obscure Toho monsters he comes across. Meanwhile Replay's Carl hardly knows anything about Godzilla aside from the more recognizable characters. Cosbydaf did a great job at writing these two as very distinctive characters from one another.
It does make sense if you think about it. The game seems to torture the played by showing his repressed memories/traumas in the gameplay, this seems to be true especially with what was said in the journal. I can really wait to see what's Carl's "nightmare" scenario will be in this story

@@waterbears9874 fr, the way he writes his side of the story feels more casual and laidback in comparison to zachary who feels more immersed and curious in his situation. hell zachary completes his game overnight in comparison to carl who takes his time day by day.
I really enjoy the “lighthearted” tone of these first few chapters,I also really enjoyed the villain? Or atleast how the warlock character doesn’t seem immediately as threatening as red did in the original story.
My theory is that, Warlock actually created the gate to keep something terrible INSIDE and entrusted 7 of his followers with keeping the Sins of the world safe and to not allow whatever is behind the gate to escape and destroy the world, the plot twist ending could be that
@@maxim9470 I think the final world would be like Zenith but In a different shape (That isn't Planet X) and colour (Most likely Grey) and the sin boss icon would be replaced by Warlock himself, basically the final sin boss of NES Godzilla Replay
@@Bangbanggooberblat69 maybe, but Warlock's intentions for being the "final boss" would most likely be different from Red's. He would likely try to stop from releasing an even worse creature.
In my opinion this sequel isn’t nearly as creepy as the original but that’s fine, it doesn’t need to be the exact same thing. The creepiest thing about this creepypasta to me is the conceptual idea of a cartridge giving people unique experiences and for some reason always becoming malicious, It eerily does remind of me of humans have such a strange fascination with concepts like hell, monsters and gods, dante’s purgatory, existentialism. This game feels like a manifestation of humanity’s darkest interpretations of reality and that’s why you have the “is time slipping through your fingers” and the time level. It’s a manifestation of humanity’s deepest fears, and the personalised nature highlights this because everyone’s fears are very slightly different. It’s easy to say the game is possessed by a demonic entity but in my eyes it’s possessed by all of humanity and specifically whoever is playing it. Zachery got Red because it was a manifestation of his fears after Mellisa’s death Carl got Warlock because it’s a manifestation of Carl’s inner fear about even playing the game in the first place “LEAVE NOW” Ask yourself this, how do you think your personalised game would play out?
@@A_Rookie No idea what I’d get. I suppose though if you wanna know, it would be something deeply disturbing to your subconscious memories. Like with Zachery. I actually think the reason why Zachary’s Godzilla NES progressively gets worse and worse is because of his growing anxiety and curiosity.

@@CrackedcrippleMaybe not, one of the monsters said that Carl's life is worthless and he doesn't have anything better to do. Maybe the game tries to read your mind to use your trauma against you, but it didn't find anything in Carl's case, so it mocked him for being boring instead.
I absolutely love this series, I am so invested in the godzilla nes creepypastas. I watched someone else read the first part and now listening to you reading this part, I can actually picture the two separate characters. I adore your work, keep it up!
At one point, apparently, the game almost died. One of the primary workers was starting to be a brat and he was fired. They have someone new and, hopefully, at least Trance will be available soon.

The first person i seen and heard do a reading of this story was pete the hamster. Sadly his channel isn't up anymore as far as i checked. But it is nice to see others also do a creepypasta reading of this story. You being one of them and great work on making the story sound and appear scary.
i really enjoy revisiting this and the original creepypasta every 3-6 months :) was kinda sad that the actual video game some devs were working on got cancelled
Hey guys! If your like me and re listening to the creepy pasta again for the 200th time! I have some great news! There's an update that come out last year, it's only part 1 of the next chapter but it's an update!
For those who don't know what the monsters (that are Godzilla monsters) are (but let's be honest you probably do) I'll explain all of them except for Godzilla. 1. Godzillasaurus: This was Godzilla while he was on the earth (in this story). He is from the movie Godzilla vs King Ghidorah (1991) and fended off humans from it's island before being killed but was revived and mutated into Godzilla by an atomic bomb. 2. Krystalak: This was the miniboss in the level Ice Cave. He is from the video game Godzilla: Unleashed (2007) (and also double smash but no one cares about that game) his backstory is untold but he was most likely created by Space Godzilla to destroy Earth. 3. Ganimes: Just so you know I won't explain which characters are which if their name is shown. Ganimes is from the movie Space Amoeba (1970) he was mutated by the villainous Space Amoeba after being killed a second one was created but also died 4. Kamoebas: Also from Space Amoeba in which he was also mutated after the Space Amoeba's control was broken it fought the second Ganimes and both died in a volcaninc eruption. It also appeared as a corpse in the movie Godzilla Tokyo SOS (2003) after being killed offscreen by Godzilla 5. Gorosaurus: This was the dinosaur that followed Carl around in the level Lost Way. It first appeared in the movie King Kong escapes (1967) where it fights Kong and meets the same fate of Theropods in King Kong movies (I'm sure you already know) it then appeared in Destroy All Monsters (1968) where he played a big role in defeating King Ghidorah. 6. Rodan: I'm pretty sure you know who Rodan is but he's basically one of Godzilla's most common Foes/Allies. 7. King Kong: I'll explain this King Kong and why he's in something to do with Godzilla. This is the King Kong that appeared in King Kong vs Godzilla (1962) in which he was captured to fight Godzilla before returning to his island. 8. Godzilla 1998/Zilla: Godzilla/Zilla is a giant iguana that attacked New York but was killed by a millitary airstrike in Godzilla Final Wars (2004) he's included to be mocked at by Toho (the people who made Godzilla) easily being destroyed by Godzilla and then called useless by the Xillean (I think that's how you spell it) leader. 9. Ebirah: The giant lobster in the Level Falls. It was used as a guard dog of sorts for the Red Bamboo Organisation it appeared in the movie Ebirah Horror of the Deep or Godzilla vs The Sea Monster (1966) in which it fought Godzilla in Godzilla Final Wars it is annihilated by Godzilla 10. Daghara: Daghara appeared in Rebirth of Mothra 2 (1997) where he fought against Mothra and was killed when Mothra split apart into smaller versions of herself and destroyed Daghara from the inside. 11. Giant Octopus: I think you can tell which this one is. It's a giant octopus (Obviously) that seems to like fighting giant humanoids. 12. Titanosaurus: You'll probably know this one if you've read the first creepypasta (which you probably have) so I won't explain who he is. He appeared in Terror of Mecha Godzilla (1975) and was controlled by the mad scientist Dr Mafune who used it to help Mecha Godzilla kill Godzilla 13. Manda: Same goes for Manda what goes for Titanosaurus. He appeared in Atragon (1963) Destroy All Monsters and Godzilla Final Wars he had small roles in all 3 14. King Ceaser: He appears in Godzilla vs Mecha Godzilla where he helps Godzilla in the final battle in Godzilla Final Wars he is defeated by Godzilla despite being a 3v1. 15. Megaguirus: Megaguirus appears in Godzilla vs Megaguirus (2000) where she battles Godzilla and manages to put up a good fight.
It's actually quite perfect that this dub is done by a different person than the popular first one since it reflects how Replay is someone else's perspective
I like how both Usol and zachary really are different. Zachary never knew non of the stuff happens in the game while having this afraid expression and doesn't know what happens next. While Usol is more like he use to some weird stuff like this and self aware about red in the most calming and simple expression
One thing I noticed about this story the original (and some of the better fanmade ones) is that the cartrage seems to hook the player in by drawing there curiosity in the first or second world be either creating interesting and not creepy settups and or improving upon the original game
The game also tried to haunt or mwntally torture the player by reminding him the repressed memories or traumas, which makes sense in Zach's playthrough because he himself mentions that some of the scenerarios felt "familiar" to him, one of the perfect example are the melissas statues faces or the temple faces
For some strange reason, I kinda want to play a game like this. It'd be interesting how the game could figure out what kinds of challenges I should face and whether or not I could overcome them. Though, the whole "reading my mind" shtick would be pretty creepy.
This is like this is the season 2 of the Godzilla creepypasta, and this is the best creepypasta! really we need a type animed of this story.. ( this 2 story) I cannot imagined all we can made!

I like the fresh perspective of this. Like Carl said, he isn’t a Godzilla fan so he doesn’t know every single thing about it. Like the part where he encounters krystalak and doesn’t mention his name, obviously he wouldn’t know a kaiju that obscure.
Carl doesn't recognize Titanosaurus though. Sure, Titanosaurus isn't the most well-known, but Zach encountered him too and mentioned him by name. Carl said he read Zach's original document on his experience with the game, and proves this by talking briefly about Red. Weird. Any idea why the author did it that way?

Though the narrative for the few chapters released seems to be confused with where it wants to go, I think the concepts within the story are very unique.

I like how the protagonist of this sequel faces off against the well known classic kaijus (krystalak, titanosaurus, etc.) as minibosses, while the more obscure ones (except for Kong) are actual bosses
My headcanon is that Carl's playthrough is a prequel to Zach's, the sin icons summon Red when they are all put together, and Warlock is trying to stop Carl from unknowingly causing an apocalypse.

It's possible that when Carl started a new game it revived Red. After all, Red is still a character inside the video game. Just because he's been killed it doesn't mean he's gone forever. And nothing from Zach's playthrough of the game has appeared in Carl's playthrough, proving it can reboot itself. Maybe the reboot also brought Red back
I love to have a personalized video game experience like NES godzilla. But, maybe with Devil may cry, Halo, kingdom hearts or something like a power rangers game or a personalized kamen rider game.

To be fair, isn't it explained that the cartridge itself taps into your mind and molds itself into a unique experience for you? The experiment logs suggest that too as different subjects have different experiences (which happen to be supported by the original story being a totally different experience too)
This means Melissa isn't real and the game just made Melissa up to mess with Zach more. Who knows why it did this, it just seems more believable than "Hehehe your girlfriend is stuck in game!!! Ruh roh she give you new monster to defeat me!!" and adds onto this whole story. Also, sorry I'm late.
Warlock doesn't seem anywhere near as malicious as Red was in the original. The first time Red was encountered, he immediately tried to kill Zach, meanwhile Warlock warned Carl multiple times before attacking, and even tried to trick him into giving up. If I had to guess, I'd say that he's trying to get Carl to quit playing before he runs into something like Red.

I like to imagine that after the MC defeats Warlock or collects all of the keys (which are meant to represent the seven deadly sins), Warlock would say "you doom us. You doomed us all." in his last dying breath. Another theory I have is that Usol could possibly be Red in a weaker form.

My favorite thing about this sequel is the contrast between the protagonists of both stories. Zachary from the original pasta is a dedicated Godzilla fan who recognizes even the most obscure Toho monsters he comes across. Meanwhile Replay's Carl hardly knows anything about Godzilla aside from the more recognizable characters. Cosbydaf did a great job at writing these two as very distinctive characters from one another.
It does make sense if you think about it. The game seems to torture the played by showing his repressed memories/traumas in the gameplay, this seems to be true especially with what was said in the journal. I can really wait to see what's Carl's "nightmare" scenario will be in this story

In my opinion this sequel isn’t nearly as creepy as the original but that’s fine, it doesn’t need to be the exact same thing. The creepiest thing about this creepypasta to me is the conceptual idea of a cartridge giving people unique experiences and for some reason always becoming malicious,
It eerily does remind of me of humans have such a strange fascination with concepts like hell, monsters and gods, dante’s purgatory, existentialism. This game feels like a manifestation of humanity’s darkest interpretations of reality and that’s why you have the “is time slipping through your fingers” and the time level. It’s a manifestation of humanity’s deepest fears, and the personalised nature highlights this because everyone’s fears are very slightly different. It’s easy to say the game is possessed by a demonic entity but in my eyes it’s possessed by all of humanity and specifically whoever is playing it. Zachery got Red because it was a manifestation of his fears after Mellisa’s death
Carl got Warlock because it’s a manifestation of Carl’s inner fear about even playing the game in the first place “LEAVE NOW”
Ask yourself this, how do you think your personalised game would play out?
Mine would probably be eerily silent, empty, and have alot of visual impairities.

@@CrackedcrippleMaybe not, one of the monsters said that Carl's life is worthless and he doesn't have anything better to do. Maybe the game tries to read your mind to use your trauma against you, but it didn't find anything in Carl's case, so it mocked him for being boring instead.

Hey guys! If your like me and re listening to the creepy pasta again for the 200th time! I have some great news! There's an update that come out last year, it's only part 1 of the next chapter but it's an update!
Red is Dead and you’re on the path to Redemption
For those who don't know what the monsters (that are Godzilla monsters) are (but let's be honest you probably do) I'll explain all of them except for Godzilla.
1. Godzillasaurus: This was Godzilla while he was on the earth (in this story). He is from the movie Godzilla vs King Ghidorah (1991) and fended off humans from it's island before being killed but was revived and mutated into Godzilla by an atomic bomb.
2. Krystalak: This was the miniboss in the level Ice Cave. He is from the video game Godzilla: Unleashed (2007) (and also double smash but no one cares about that game) his backstory is untold but he was most likely created by Space Godzilla to destroy Earth.
3. Ganimes: Just so you know I won't explain which characters are which if their name is shown. Ganimes is from the movie Space Amoeba (1970) he was mutated by the villainous Space Amoeba after being killed a second one was created but also died
4. Kamoebas: Also from Space Amoeba in which he was also mutated after the Space Amoeba's control was broken it fought the second Ganimes and both died in a volcaninc eruption. It also appeared as a corpse in the movie Godzilla Tokyo SOS (2003) after being killed offscreen by Godzilla
5. Gorosaurus: This was the dinosaur that followed Carl around in the level Lost Way. It first appeared in the movie King Kong escapes (1967) where it fights Kong and meets the same fate of Theropods in King Kong movies (I'm sure you already know) it then appeared in Destroy All Monsters (1968) where he played a big role in defeating King Ghidorah.
6. Rodan: I'm pretty sure you know who Rodan is but he's basically one of Godzilla's most common Foes/Allies.
7. King Kong: I'll explain this King Kong and why he's in something to do with Godzilla. This is the King Kong that appeared in King Kong vs Godzilla (1962) in which he was captured to fight Godzilla before returning to his island.
8. Godzilla 1998/Zilla: Godzilla/Zilla is a giant iguana that attacked New York but was killed by a millitary airstrike in Godzilla Final Wars (2004) he's included to be mocked at by Toho (the people who made Godzilla) easily being destroyed by Godzilla and then called useless by the Xillean (I think that's how you spell it) leader.
9. Ebirah: The giant lobster in the Level Falls. It was used as a guard dog of sorts for the Red Bamboo Organisation it appeared in the movie Ebirah Horror of the Deep or Godzilla vs The Sea Monster (1966) in which it fought Godzilla in Godzilla Final Wars it is annihilated by Godzilla
10. Daghara: Daghara appeared in Rebirth of Mothra 2 (1997) where he fought against Mothra and was killed when Mothra split apart into smaller versions of herself and destroyed Daghara from the inside.
11. Giant Octopus: I think you can tell which this one is. It's a giant octopus (Obviously) that seems to like fighting giant humanoids.
12. Titanosaurus: You'll probably know this one if you've read the first creepypasta (which you probably have) so I won't explain who he is. He appeared in Terror of Mecha Godzilla (1975) and was controlled by the mad scientist Dr Mafune who used it to help Mecha Godzilla kill Godzilla
13. Manda: Same goes for Manda what goes for Titanosaurus. He appeared in Atragon (1963) Destroy All Monsters and Godzilla Final Wars he had small roles in all 3
14. King Ceaser: He appears in Godzilla vs Mecha Godzilla where he helps Godzilla in the final battle in Godzilla Final Wars he is defeated by Godzilla despite being a 3v1.
15. Megaguirus: Megaguirus appears in Godzilla vs Megaguirus (2000) where she battles Godzilla and manages to put up a good fight.

Also, Manda appears in the real game to.. as a small mini boss.
It's actually quite perfect that this dub is done by a different person than the popular first one since it reflects how Replay is someone else's perspective

Zachary never knew non of the stuff happens in the game while having this afraid expression and doesn't know what happens next.

One thing I noticed about this story the original (and some of the better fanmade ones) is that the cartrage seems to hook the player in by drawing there curiosity in the first or second world be either creating interesting and not creepy settups and or improving upon the original game
The game also tried to haunt or mwntally torture the player by reminding him the repressed memories or traumas, which makes sense in Zach's playthrough because he himself mentions that some of the scenerarios felt "familiar" to him, one of the perfect example are the melissas statues faces or the temple faces
The world 3 name hits diferent in this day and age

For some strange reason, I kinda want to play a game like this. It'd be interesting how the game could figure out what kinds of challenges I should face and whether or not I could overcome them. Though, the whole "reading my mind" shtick would be pretty creepy.

I like the fresh perspective of this. Like Carl said, he isn’t a Godzilla fan so he doesn’t know every single thing about it. Like the part where he encounters krystalak and doesn’t mention his name, obviously he wouldn’t know a kaiju that obscure.
yeah! it's a fun take and it proves the cartridge wont necessarily pull only from what they know.
Carl doesn't recognize Titanosaurus though. Sure, Titanosaurus isn't the most well-known, but Zach encountered him too and mentioned him by name. Carl said he read Zach's original document on his experience with the game, and proves this by talking briefly about Red. Weird. Any idea why the author did it that way?

I like to think the reason why the game hears both Zack and this guy is not because the game can just do that, but it's probably the fact both Zack and this guy had an nes from Japan, cuz thoes ones have mics built into the controllers

I believe before the door opens when Carl collects all of the sin icons warlock will have a final fight with Carl before it opens now I don’t think red will show up when it opens as each playthrough in the games anomaly form is personalized and also red appearing in the replay would’ve been too predictable
