Hey Purple Haze, I cannot answer to your comment directly... stupid RUclips... Well... you are wrong. I do use these chinese pedals quite a bit because there is pretty much no different when it comes to parts and build quality. Analog pedals are easy to make and most companies really rip you off, letting you think that spending more gets you a better sound. When it comes to digital pedals it looks a bit different, the chinese just don't have the programmers and the ears to make it sound like the real deal. That said, these two reverbs are great for the money and I have had the Shimverb on my board for live gigs... now I have a Strymon Big Sky and, yeah, I'd be an idiot not to use it. but it is also 500 bucks compared to 80. And there are boards where the Big Sky is just too big and the Mooer might come min handy. Saying the chinese stuff is crap is stupid, sorry man... why would you say that? What about it is crap? Have you used a Movall pedal, for example.. super heavy quality... killer sound. As I said, the analog stuff is very easy and cheap to make. Spending 150 to 300 bucks on an overdrive is crazy when the parts cost less than 20 bucks... big discussion and it has been had over and over... Oh... and the Yellow Comp makes it on EVERY board I make... you said it is useless, but be more specific... it is useless for your needs and for what you want from a compressor. I love it... it adds a lot of attack and spices up the high end... great for clean country licks or arpeggiated chords.
EytschPi42 I love my Movall Rock Highway, too. Globalization is a system from which there is no escape, not yet. It makes no sense to indict individuals like us for using tech generated by the forces of global capital.
Another great demo Henning - funny, informative and a thorough demonstration of what the products can do. Also the first time in 30 years of playing that I've heard someone give a proper explanation of how reverb works. Well done! The shimmer mode reminded me of Steve Rothery's sound, one of my favourite players.
This video is like being in the living room with this guy having a beer while trying a couple of pedals right there, in the moment. He goes with the flow and plays whatever the sound is making him feel, which is much better than usual reverb pedal videos, where they play styles that have nothing to do with the real use you're gonne give the pedal (i.e., play a blues shuffle with cathedral reverb, wtf?)
This guy is crazy as a bedbug but knows his stuff. I like the way he doesn't talk down to people, he expects his viewers to have a minimum level of intelligence.
Thanks, that was entertaining, really liked the ghost dogs, and I got a lot out of it, Thank you for taking the time to make the video, it definitely helped shape my opinion. Peace from America.
The Shimverb sounds amazing with analog synths. I've got a TD-3 running into a Reecho and then a Shimverb. Might have to grab a skyverb too.. I kinda like the echoey feel of the church setting.
EytschPi42 great demo, as always! I really like Mooer, have a reecho that sounds killer and a blues mood for overdriven tones, mixed with expensive other pedals and there's absolutely no signal quality loss when coming through the mooer stuff. i'm actually thinking of selling some of my other boutique crap and buying the mooer version, its cheaper and smaller, and has proven to stand the test of time (over 2 years of playing pretty much every day). Loved the PRS guitar sounds like the son of a les paul and a strat, could you do a demo? DO A DEMO!
It's a shame that you can't tune the shimmer but I suppose that would be a more complex, larger and pricier unit. The shimmer seems to be a 5th up and might have been better and less complicated musically if it was set to an octave. I like messing with the order of my effects. Putting a tremolo or chorus after the reverb can be interesting which is a little like the trick the ShimVerb does but with more control. Very nice, comprehensive review.
thanks Alex... Many more coming and Many more already on my channel... Check them Out.... I am getting the Strymon Big Sky soon... many cool sounding verbs on that one!
Alex Hollins I thought the same, and wouldn't it be great to get all the reverb types in one pedal; they just went and did it, switchable harmonic intervals plus a separate octave, and all the types, the ShimVerb Pro. For less than a hundred quid.
No Mooer overdrives? Ask Jason for a Blues Mood, its as transparent as a sheet of glass, as for Distortion the Solo sounds like the name implies. I may ask for ask for one of those Ana Echo delays myself, it's the delay sound I've been trying to find like and x girlfriend from 25 years ago.
Good review ! Skyverb is nice. It sounds warm and natural. Shimverb is horrible. Sounds thin, fully digital, and the shimmer without octave notes but sounding fifth ??? No way
which would u choose for hard rock lead tones? the reverb on my DSL40c is crappy & useless, im using a Quattro delay, mixed back, right now.. i want a small, cheap reverb for my PT Nano. the Htnone & Jyo both got bad reviews.. are either one of these appropriate to add subtle,always-on rock verb? the skyverb plate sounded very nice
I like the ShimVerb better 'cause I like the spring and shimmer. Guess I'll be getting this pedal. The spring setting sounds like the old spring reverb tanks and you can get that "drippy" sound as in beach music. The shimmer setting sounds like an organ playing along with the guitar.
I like this video, the explanation of reverb is very interesting, for those of us who are just starting to stack our pedals, and get confused such as of the differences between flangers, reverbs, choruses and such. I hope he explains the rest of the Mooer pedals, since I already have purchased 5 of them, lol...
I really like the Mooer products. However, i noticed some serious tonesuck with the Shimverb, while modulation effects and verbs/ delays should keep your original tone. It seems to eat LOTS of high end. That's a pity, seen as I like the possibilities of the pedal. Haven't you noticed any problems while testing these?
Subscribing to your channel. Funny and thorough reviews from what I've seen. And you've expanded my vocabulary. (Was that "hugosity" you said?) Re: your question at the end of the delay shootout: My girlfriend prefers beer.
MarkFromHawaii Yes, a fifth. I sold mine b/c it required too much thought re theory, dissonance etc. Octave better. Good pedal if you can manage all that or don't care.
me at the beginning: wow 40 minutes for two pedals? unnecessary. me at the end: how did I watch the whole video? very entertaining haha btw I don't know which pedal should I buy, shimmer sounds like I don't know how to use in actual songs.
Hi H.P.
Ive bought the mooer cruncher on lazada but its is defective, a loud clicking sound in my amp when you switch the effect on.... im using voodoo lab power supply... ???
Since you had both at hand, I was hoping for some testing of whether both pedals could interact in an interesting way. For instance, could you thicken the shimering with the skyverb ?
Yes, that could have been interesting, but usually reverberating a reverb with a reverb doesn't really make sense... now... delaying delay.... that is different and in the delay shootout I do that... will be up tomorrow.
Just got a ShimVerb today... thought I would test out if it's worth getting an EHX Oceans 11... but I actually love the synthy metallic sound u get at maxed settings. It's perfect for Goth & Darkwave stuff
great video xd i watched it, bought shimverb and then watched it once again - how cool is that xD? Will there be any more reverb pedals in near future? Or choruses? Or delays? Or anything that is not OD/distortion/fuzz/booster/etc? :D
Hey Henning. I just got a Shimverb. When I put it in the fx loop of my Helix, I get a significant volume decrease. Send / return / mix all are set to factory. 0bb,0db, and 100%. any thoughts?
+Bigswampbushcraft sorry, no idea.... but why i the world would you buy that pedal if you have a Helix? I would think that the built in reverbs are way better!
I have an addiction to external pedals.. But seriously. I'm trying to save on some of the blocks using up so much of the chips capibilities. Plus, I just wanted to test a Moore. Not Good I guess.
+Dru Davis Thanks.... very kind of you... I try my best.... keep watching the videos... you ain't seen nothing yet.... watch the one called NIK WEST ON A BUS !!!!
Luis Bautista me having a shimverb wishes for a skyverb, as for the shimverb I only use the shimer mode with a delay in it, but for the skyverb I think if I have one, id always use the cathedral mode
yes and no... the decy is how long it will stay, but a larger room will have a longer decay, so in effect a longer decay will sound like a bigger room.

EytschPi42 My Chinese-made amp is superior to my Fenders in many ways.
Ethically, I may be compromised, but it sounds amazing.
EytschPi42 I love my Movall Rock Highway, too.
Globalization is a system from which there is no escape, not yet. It makes no sense to indict individuals like us for using tech generated by the forces of global capital.
There is just a slight metallic sound or ring-like effect which I find annoying compared to a boutique pedal like a Strymom!
@@kinksbeatlesstones he tweaked it to bright.

The next best thing to getting the pedals and playing with them - so many YT reviews don't go through options so thoroughly and clearly. Thanks!
Clearest explanation of reverb (and tone!) I've heard. Thank you!
You have a great sense of humor.
This was a very entertaining video.
Thank You for posting.
Cheers

This guy kept me entertained the whole way through all 40 minutes, and I've made my decision thanks to you sir!!! Skyverb it is!!!
How are these minipedals on other instruments like synths and drum machines?
This guy is crazy as a bedbug but knows his stuff. I like the way he doesn't talk down to people, he expects his viewers to have a minimum level of intelligence.
"Hugidity. Sizitiveness. Largeskity." Oh man, I love it. Thanks for the longer demo btw. Really struggling to choose between these two!
He also said analogiditty in another video. We might need to follow up on putting those in the dictionary one of these days.
nice, Lord Varys
hahahahhaha !!!
Jajaj!
He Who Must Not Be Named....lol

Hi, I got a question for you, Do you recommend it for playing in the church? Cheers!
.. running it through a roland..
This guy is FUCKING HILARIOUS and made me laugh several times. Great tutorial but even better job making me laugh!
yea, thats what i want to say
KovaMusic that's what she said
Great! The tone is ok, atmosfere is relaxing, jokes are stupid but that is popular these days.Super review 10/10.Great job!
Man, you are the best! Very good video.
Great explanation of what a reverb does. Thanks!

Awsome dude! My first mooer pedal is a bass sweeper and i like this pedals so much. Thanks for the review.
A fretless Jazzbass through a Marshall MB30, wich one would fit better if any?
No Mooer overdrives? Ask Jason for a Blues Mood, its as transparent as a sheet of glass, as for Distortion the Solo sounds like the name implies. I may ask for ask for one of those Ana Echo delays myself, it's the delay sound I've been trying to find like and x girlfriend from 25 years ago.

Is both reverb pedals can be use in bass guitar. Or which one should you prefer? Thank you ☺️

Girlfriend - Beer - Check !!!
Seems like a 5th is added on top in shimmer mode of the ShimVerb. I kind of like it for the money. After a year, any quality control issues? Thanks.
MarkFromHawaii No, works fine....
MarkFromHawaii Yes, a fifth. I sold mine b/c it required too much thought re theory, dissonance etc. Octave better.
Good pedal if you can manage all that or don't care.
Great job, man! Amazing video, thank you!

Typically German; so thorough. Love it. New sub.
Let say im doing 80's rock. Which reverb is more suitable the shim or sky?
Hi, I want to know... are they Digital? True Bypass? thanks
great video xd i watched it, bought shimverb and then watched it once again - how cool is that xD?
Will there be any more reverb pedals in near future? Or choruses? Or delays? Or anything that is not OD/distortion/fuzz/booster/etc? :D
Are you still doing the airport transfers at Berlin airport?
Oh and this guy is great!! Him and Pete Thorn rock!!
+Bobo Detroit THANKS man... being thrown in with Pete is a true Honor !
+Bobo Detroit in a video Pete Thorn said he loves hall reverb, sky verb stuff
The lights on all pedals I've ever used are too bright unless you're playing under direct sunlight.
Also why don't all pedals have silent switches?
great illustration of reverb effects
"Cathedral, which of course is a hugh ass church" :D That was pretty funny!
Great vid and great sounds. Interested in the Mooer pedals.
Sehr cooler Akzent, netter Typ, tolle Präsentation! Abo!
How come the studio isnt in the shot anymore??
Nice tune to end at 35 minutes. One of yours?
Me gustan los pedales cuanto cuestan cada uno??
Hey Henning. I just got a Shimverb. When I put it in the fx loop of my Helix, I get a significant volume decrease. Send / return / mix all are set to factory. 0bb,0db, and 100%. any thoughts?

Good work. Thank you for the master class...
Reverb deosn't have to be last, tremolo after reverb is cool
i will use it to strumming, what you think is the best?
SkyVerb
Lovily!! cant decide witch pedal i prefer!
Get em both
I like the sky Verb best out of these two but love the trinity 2 best.
boss rv5 is better so far than skyverb? ( almots doble of the price...worth?"
Well the Boss is stereo and built like a tank
Which drums are you using?
cool stuff, but I am so glad I spent all my allowance on a Strymon Big Sky. It is amazing!!!
+Bobo Detroit Big Sky is KILLER !!!!!
Compared to the Joyo Spaceverb, which one sounds best?
+Tom Jeffrey Macalisang I would go for the Space Verb
+EytschPi42 I'll try the spaceverb.
Very fun and educative!
Thanks you !
Great video bud!
Jamie-leigh Smith Thanks !
Are they true bypass tho?
Great demo thank you. Skyverb sounds great, Shimverb not so great.
great video m going for the sky!
Thank you, I learned a lot
The Skyverb is for me, but great both
to acoustic guitar, wich one is the best?
Sky
Good vid ! Thanks you keep rocking !
Hugerific Huge-idity!!!! Hilarious. Great Demo, you make it more personal. Cheers.
Thanks man... that means a lot!
nice playing from 25:13 to 26:00!
Nice video thanks
Shim or Sky ?
I have a shimverb and I enjoy it but skyverb is also pretty great
Well, if you're going to spend FORTY minutes demo-ing two mini reverb pedals, you had better be entertaining. And you are, sir. Well done.
+Dru Davis Thanks.... very kind of you... I try my best.... keep watching the videos... you ain't seen nothing yet.... watch the one called NIK WEST ON A BUS !!!!
+EytschPi42 Will do.
spells buyayayaya great sping imitation
16:17 HAEE bub bub bub bub, you know?
iugitdity - this is just great - boooiiiing!
23:04 for the real spring reverb sound
Hope they make this two pedal in one
Mooer ocean machine ? But pricy..
I am currently Mooerless
32:30 nice sound + play , but 33:30 Metaaall !!
So ShimVerb or SkyVerb?
Luis Bautista me having a shimverb wishes for a skyverb, as for the shimverb I only use the shimer mode with a delay in it, but for the skyverb I think if I have one, id always use the cathedral mode
Are you Danish?
german
I think the decay isn't about the size of the room, but how long the reverb will stay..
yes and no... the decy is how long it will stay, but a larger room will have a longer decay, so in effect a longer decay will sound like a bigger room.
ohhh, I see.
22:18 lol 😂😂😂
Jesus I was drifting off to sleep then.....😳
i have shimverb, when it's on shimmer mode, it gives fifth of the notes, it can be shitty sometimes, like on A minor, B note gives F#.
Which is fine as long as you are playing in A DORIAN, right?
EytschPi42 what about F# on A Dorian, shimmer gives C# :D
that face hahahahah hilarious!
Seven minutes in and still haven't heard the pedal. Bye
the guy actually put timestamps in the beginning of the video, & he specified where exactly the demos begin. Paul Adams
Ohhhhhh sorry. I'm imatient
Paul Adams dont you know how to fast forward?
Muita conversa e pouco teste.
No
Why not? are you crazy? 🤪 is cheap and cool
i havent,t understand nothing....i was sleeped with the reverb sound :(
Less blathering and more playing please.
We don't have all day. Do what the title says you are going to do
German Humor...
LOL 26:43
I like your reviews but you speak so much
HUGIDITY
