It's funny that Grubby is completly new to WoW but because he is one of the best Warcraft3 players in the world he learned and picked up on stuff in WoW so quickly that people just assume he is a veteran in the game
Grubby is very good at games in general. It took him about a year to go from completely new at Dota to the top tier of Ranked. His approach to competitive gaming is the best.

As someone who also worked at blizzard, it's not easy knowing everything and never being wrong. The burden can almost be too much to bear at times.

pirate, ex blizzard employee of 7 years and long time mage player, was making fun of a dude who just started playing wow for forgetting to re buff people in the dungeon so pirate had to do it.
He didn't even forget to debuff, Jason recast the buff super early. The entire thing was started when an item they both wanted dropped and Lacari won the roll, after Jason didn't get the toy he wanted he went on to act like a toddler who didn't get his way for 2 hours.
Everytime he talks he reminds me of vaush with the way he says things and this elitist attitude.

The anti-AI art attitude lots of people have is kinda ridicilous. Yes, lots of it is soulless imitation but so is the vast ammount of art people create. This is the reason only a very small minority of people can be professional artists. AI is just another new tool that makes creating art easier and more accessible, which naturally results into massive ammount of garbage. But that doesn't mean it can't be used in truly creative ways in the hands of a real artists.

Some of them do it consciously and others don’t. But if you force your voice down low enough for long enough, you will eventually start speaking that way. It’s the same for Voice training in the other direction.
I'm going to go even a step further, even if he saved the team it wouldn't be that big of deal. A frost mage is OP. The situation was medium difficulty, but anyone playing the class for a decent amount of time you get them ALL out. Not only that but if you're the pro YOU are the shot caller, just like you saw in the other vod where the mage saved his team. And finally this is basic CC for ALL mmos basic 101 shit and when perma death is the penalty for the TEAM you dont blink and sprint away casting meaningless spell to make it seem like you have no mana. Roaches run cuz they think they will die, he was never going to die from any of that. I'd say more of a SNAKE!

You don't really need to download any addons to play it unless you want to track your own and other's performance, or a mouse with a bunch of extra buttons either.
They're useful for optimal play and can help you improve your performance, sure, but unless you're speedrunning, parsing, or doing high end PvP it's not necessary.
Especially the mouse, because you can add ctrl, shift and alt modifiers to all of your keybinds.
Wouldn't press you to play it even if you were interested, though, game's a temporal black hole.
I'd argue you 1000% need addons for Retail WoW.

Allowed yes, but panic is a disease, and a calm voice can be critical in preventing a chain reaction.

Also it's not just a game, I don't even play WoW but even I can recognize that a death = hundreds if not thousands of hours lost. Imagine playing a game for 400 hours and then as soon you die someone takes the controller and deletes all your saved data. It's not a game at that point, you would be pissed. At the very least feel like "well forget that I'm never playing this again"

Iv literally played with since before some of the animations were in for spells, before they had picture references ect. This is some of the lowest IQ shit every. Classic is the EASIEST version of wow. Im telling you now because iv seen other blizzard employees/losers do it: hes lied from the start, got carried in every wow raid/encounter hes had and it made him think HES good. Because people have a reason to bend the knee to him, him and his dad are/were blizzard employees. Iv had guild leaders who were GMs and this is EXACTLY how they acted. "Well i work for blizzard so i cant be wrong."

The thing with "make HP 0" threats is that the concept of the "threat" isn't clear if its an opinion, a joke, or an actionable logistical "you walk your ferret at coordinates XYZ..." So the whole threat allegation occupies the quantum field of "don't commit a crime" to "don''t be mean" so its just obfuscation, like a PR flashbang.
And if the public school system teaches anything about human nature, if you tell the bully to "not be mean" and then report everything to the teacher, even playing up the accusations. as someone who has been in hardcore situations similar to this. I always confirm. they all kinda got some blame, but when one guys says run, and one guy says stay... if you fall on the run vote, you better say something. Say "you said run, i'm low i'm gonna run." Disclaimers get ppl out of legal crap all the time, why if a 3 year old chokes on a toy piece it's his fault for not reading the disclaimer. But the smug "what i'm i gonna do? I got items to give me mana, but i dont wanna use it" comment kinda makes you the jerk.

The guy who had no mana and actually helped his team though had REALLY 0 Mana. No mana pot or mana regen. He used all those, had 0 mana AND STILL HELPED HIS TEAM. Pirate had a mana gem, pot and DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Didn't help his team, didn't hit his mana pot because if he did then the 0 Mana take would should he was lying. So he didn't hit it cause he knew if he did, the "Shotcaller" would've called to fight instead of run. And he just wanted to RUN.
Social games like wow was supposed to create friendships not destroy them 😢
Dire Maul Run Analysis
Puts on his raid leader and guild leader hat.
Looking at this Dire Maul run alone, it seems like it was manufactured by streamers to increase views and generate drama. It closely resembles professional wrestling, where there's a designated "bad guy" and "good guy."
The Pull
The initial pull was terrible. The tank should have pulled the group back. The ogre mage was even interrupted mid-cast with a Shield Slam, meaning it would have been extremely easy to reposition. The nearby boss patrols through this area and walks up the ramp. Since this is a Tribute run, the goal is to avoid all bosses except the final one. There was absolutely no reason to fight here.
A kill order was established with SKULL and X. However, the rogue was attacking the mastiffs (X) instead of following the kill order, causing him to take aggro from the tank. The rogue's DPS was extremely low throughout the encounter. Had he been on SKULL, he could have also used Kick on the caster.
The druid used Sprint for no reason to run behind the ogre mage. This was completely unnecessary, as he could have saved it for an emergency. Later, this mistake resulted in him being unable to escape or help the group. Worse, the druid ended up pulling an additional group.
The tank or party leader should have corrected the rogue with a clear instruction, such as:
"DPS on SKULL. Rogue, attack SKULL."
Both melee DPS should have either attacked SKULL from the front or asked the tank to reposition. The mage, however, was correctly attacking SKULL.
Meanwhile, the tank was struggling to maintain threat. Both mastiffs were attacking the rogue, which is evident from the debuffs on his status bar about three seconds into the fight. The rogue lost approximately 20% of his health due to this mistake-once again, a direct consequence of not following the kill order and the tank failing to maintain threat.
Additional Group Pulled
After the druid pulled an extra group near the ramp, the healer gained aggro about five seconds into the fight. This resulted in the healer receiving two debuffs and dropping to 50% health.
At this point, the mage began casting Blizzard, while the boss was approaching up the ramp. The tank should have used AoE taunt here. This would have allowed the mage to finish casting Blizzard safely. Given the rate at which the mobs' health was dropping, the situation was still salvageable.
However, the rogue stopped DPS first, followed by the druid, and then the mage. Despite this, the rogue was unable to kill a single level 58 non-elite mob during this time-Blizzard ultimately did the job instead.
Current Mob Status:
Three Level 58 Non-Elites:
1.1k HP (27% remaining)
2.0k HP (70% remaining)
1.6k HP (41% remaining)
Two Level 57 Elites:
12.7k HP (90% remaining)
1k HP (10% remaining) → This mob had 5 full combo points from the druid and could have been finished quickly.
Boss
Based on the rate at which health was dropping, this fight was still winnable.
Even from a common-sense perspective, a max-rank Blizzard will pull aggro if the tank has no time to build threat. The correct play would have been for the tank to use AoE taunt, allowing the mage to safely AoE the trash while the tank focused on building threat on the boss. The ogre mage would have died, and the level 57 elite was manageable-either the rogue could have tanked it with cooldowns, or the druid could have off-tanked it.
The tank even acknowledged the boss, saying, "Yeah, yeah, I got SHIELD WALL." However, the rogue panicked, yelling "RUN! RUN! RUN!" and completely stopped DPSing. This confusion led the tank to call for a run-out.
The Escape Attempt
During the retreat to the first ramp, there was absolutely no reason why the druid and rogue couldn’t strafe and attack to burn down the three level 58 non-elites.
As everyone ran out, a level 58 non-elite was significantly ahead of the other mobs. Around six seconds into the fight, the tank swapped stances and used Intercept. At this point, he was ahead of the trash mobs. However, it's unclear whether he swapped back, and I suspect this was a mistake. This could explain his poor threat generation and increased damage intake moving forward. The tank should have been able to run out safely using proper strafing and pathing techniques.
Upon analyzing the footage, it appears he tried to jump, turn 180°, attack, then turn back-but he messed it up. This caused him to lose the distance he had gained. Instead, he should have simply strafed to avoid the Daze debuff, which only applies when hit from behind. This is a well-documented strategy dating back to retail WoW.
The mobs were slowed by Blizzard, yet six seconds into the fight, the tank had no slow debuffs on him. How is it possible that he intercepted ahead of the mobs, yet three seconds later, he was getting dazed when the mobs were supposed to be slowed?
The Blizzard and the Boss
Shortly after, the mage turned around-and I don't blame him for being confused. The tank and mobs were not in position. Had the tank kept running, the mobs would have remained in range of Blizzard, and the slow debuff would have been reapplied.
The boss has Shield Slam and Knockback mechanics. At this point, the boss was running toward three players. The key questions:
Who had threat?
Did the earlier Blizzard pull aggro from the boss?
Did the second Blizzard cause the mage to gain aggro?
Was the mage already the top threat target?
It was extremely dangerous for the mage to run through the boss. If he had Blinked through it, there was a high chance he would have been charged and knocked back into another group-a massive risk in a Tribute run, where mobs are everywhere.
This is how the boss got ahead of the trash and charged the rogue. Since the boss only charges non-aggro targets, this means the rogue did not have aggro. This left only the mage and healer as possible aggro holders-most likely the mage. If the mage was knocked back, he could have pulled even more groups.
Final Collapse
The expectation was that DPS would focus on non-elites, which had an 8-second slow debuff. This is likely why the mage used max-rank Blizzard. However, when casting, he only managed to slow one level 58 non-elite, while the boss (immune to slow) continued moving. This entire sequence unfolded in about a second.
For some reason, the druid started DPSing the boss-the worst target to focus on. He should have either:
Switched to bear, taunted, and repositioned the boss so the tank could regain aggro.
DPSed the non-elites slowing the tank.
At this time, the tank was losing health very slowly, but the druid was losing 25% per hit from the boss.
Meanwhile, the rogue was yelling, "HEAL HIM! HEAL HIM!"-but he didn’t understand that the druid was actually in danger, not the tank. The druid dropped to 20% health in bear form-23 seconds into the fight.
The tank’s pathing was terrible, frequently walking backward (50% movement speed) and moving sideways needlessly.
At 54 seconds, the tank was knocked back-but with better positioning, he could have been knocked much further to safety. Instead, he ran the wrong way, backward at 50% speed-and then into a corner.
At 60 seconds, the druid pulled another pack-at this point, the fight was beyond salvaging.
Final Thoughts
From a performance standpoint:
Mage: Played at a 7-8/10 skill level. A 10/10 would have required riskier plays, with potential death.
Rogue: Did nothing for 40+ seconds.
Druid & Tank: Made crucial positioning and decision-making mistakes.

I didn't bother mentioning the priest fear/ death, or why blizzard rank 1 is useless here and why polymorph would cause more problems. Let me know if you need me to address those.

Players did not strafe or follow proper escape mechanics, leading to unnecessary dazes.
The tank repeatedly walked backward, reducing speed, and cornered himself instead of running to safety.
Missed opportunities to kill non-elites during retreat.
Individual Performances:
Mage: Played decently (7-8/10), but was let down by the group’s lack of coordination.
Rogue: Failed completely-ignored kill order, low DPS, and panicked.
Druid: Poor decision-making (targeting boss, pulling extra mobs, wasting sprint).
Tank: Weak threat management, bad pathing, and failure to utilize taunts correctly.
Potential Solutions:
Clear Communication: The party leader or tank should enforce kill order and clarify roles (e.g., DPS targets, when to AoE, when to retreat).

Yam is a LoL player, I have read that he's pretty toxic in it, wasn't the group leader and shouldn't have been listened to for call outs, but even if he was Pirate roached he never even followed the first call. Yamato has also been tied up in trying to debo some phat loots in a guild distro that's supposed to feed the undead players in the guild, he's been sentenced to fight to the death over it last I heard. Yamato is apparently a jerk, Pirate is an egotistical, narcicistic roach no clean hands between them.
Everyone is concentrating on Jason because he didn't know when to shut up so it blew up and people started digging. Yamato would have been in the same situation if he was the same but he's slightly better overall so people ignored him in favour of Jason.
