I went and saw these guys in 2002 opening for Twiztid. The Twiztid crowd booed and threw shit at them the whole time and were trying to get everyone to sit down. Todd took a shit on stage on a piece of cardboard, held it up and said "this is what I think of each and every one of you" and then said that if they didn't let them play one more song, he would throw the shit into the crowd. Some guys somehow got on stage and tried to assault the band and the venue broke out into a full blown riot. People were looting the merch booths, someone got stabbed, and police came in in full riot gear. The weirdest part was that after police got the whole audience tamed and outside, we were all allowed back in after a pat down and Twiztid went on as if nothing happened.
I just googled it.. it happened "YOU PLAYED WITH INSANE CLOWN POSSE & SOMEONE IN THE BAND PULLED THEIR PANTS DOWN & THREW SHIT AT THE AUDIENCE, WHICH ESCALATED TO A RIOT & THE POLICE WERE BROUGHT IN. CAN YOU DESCRIBE THE EVENTS OF THIS NIGHT? That story is true. It was with the band called TWIZTID, which is basically INSANE CLOWN POSSE with a different name. They were being beyond disrespectful, spitting & throwing bottles & anything they could get their hands on. I had finally had enough & I pulled my pants down, took a shit on a piece of cardboard & threw it in the crowd. They rioted & tried to kill us because I guess they didn't like being covered with my shit."
I'll never forget when the singer bonked me on the head with his microphone and mid-scream he patted my head making sure I was ok. Forever one of my favorite bands.
I was an avid defender of the re-recorded version of this record, but listening to this in it’s entirety has convinced me that this is the better version by far. There’s a youthful energy and charm to this that can’t be matched by current DFD.

Where it all started for me. Astonishing album that is still up there as one of the greatest albums ever. This band should be massive but a small part of me likes the fact that I can introduce this perfect madness to people who have never heard of them. Here's to the new album in march!
Mushroom cult features Serj Tankian from System of a Down and it was mislabeled as a SOAD song. Glad I found out about this awesome band through another awesome band
I saw them open for Primer 55 at Alley Katz in Richmond VA, 2001. I'm pretty sure it was during Leper Friend, they had a video playing of Quadruple-amputees bouncing on trampolines. Those videos they'd play were nuts, I don't even know how you compile so much crazy footage.
I saw the same shit!! I was tripping balls on mushrooms too. I was not ready for something so bizarre 😂. The amputees were also shown brushing their teeth and stuff (putting their face up to a machine with a toothbrush, really). They also had hentai and SUPER graphic gore anime etc. And not to mention they were wearing costumes on that tour. A monks hood, priest and nun habit, and a business suit guy lol
Had a three hour drive yesterday and was going through some nostalgic albums. The re-recorded version is great for what it is, but the rawness they caught on this recording can’t be duplicated. Whatever effect Todd used for his lower screams just nails it. I was so disappointed in the new version of, “You always knew just what to say from birth, deathbed, into the grave...” All those moments on this recording are so fucking killer. Thanks for uploading this so I could hear the old versions while I’m away from home.
I bought this album from my local record store on September 11, 2001. I had been putting it off for weeks, waiting to have the money. At the time, I had only heard the 5th track, Headless, and it was immediately the most fascinating song I'd heard to that point. Needless to say, this entire album was on repeat for a while. I manager to see them in 2015 when they reunited to tour Sweet Nothings, and I told the guitarist I'd been listening to them since 9-11. It's the highest compliment I could imagine for this band.
first heard these guys on Midnight Metal on WJRR in Eustis, FL back in 2000 or so at like 1 AM while we were navigating some dark back roads. Pour Some Urine On Me came on and my cousin and I were floored. Bought this album at the mall (lol) the next chance I got and fell in love immediately.
I saw these guys at the boat house in Norfolk VA, opening for system of a down. my world had opened up. I was obsessed . thanks for the upload! I agree this is the best version. the 2019 committed to a bright future is a pretty good renovation .
That would've been an amazing fucking show. I saw them when they first started polkadot cadaver like 9 years ago, with the ideamen, in cleveland. It was a decent show, but i would've rather have seen C.o.F. and DFD back when this album came out, and cof pre-nymphetamine.
@@richjames998 I did as well. My buddy and I sarcastically wore white office shirts in a sea of black T's, which was the singer's outfit at the time (9 to 5 at the morgue attire?). That was such a fun show. A lot of good memories at Alrosa Villa
This OG version is so much better than over produced rerecorded 2018 version..newer version loses its raw sound of this classic which made it stand out at the time in 2001
Yeah but they only re-recorded these songs to get control back of their music. You can think of it as a necessary evil. As much as I agree with you that I prefer the original recordings, the re-recordings exist to ensure Dog Fashion Disco continues existing as a band. Those re-recordings are likely the ONLY way they'd be able to make sure new audiences had easy access to the music because it sure as hell doesn't sound like Rotten Records wanted to give up the master recordings. So if you love Dog Fashion Disco, you'll suck it up and learn to love those new recordings. Sure, you'll play the old ones when nobody's watching but - and I cannot stress this enough - all the money that those new recordings are bringing in now is probably going straight to Dog Fashion Disco. As far as I understand it, DFD is running their own label, in which case, they are, for all intents and purposes 100% independent. And while it's great they retain every dime they make, they also retain 100% of the risk. So help them mitigate some of that by streaming their music constantly on Spotify, Deezer or your other streaming platform of choice. I hope that all made sense and I hope it didn't sound like I was talking down to you. You just gotta understand what kind of a position DFD was probably in to even think about re-recording and re-releasing 20 year old songs.
