Kerala government should make Malayalam certification course necessary for MBBS/MD course from Kerala medical colleges for non-Malayalees. When Malayalees are forced to learn Hindi from 1st standard onwards, these Northies were enjoying with two languages. Keralites should not allow Hindi down our throat.
Whether they make it mandatory or not, one should learn it by self not by force. In Medical program where patient interaction is one of the primary aspect, students must learn Malayalam in order to understand them.
Knowledge of additional language will always add value whether it is Hindi or Malayalam or Kannada or any other language.
If you go other countries you have to pass language test. Otherwise difficult to communicate with patients

i can see some comments about the language issue and some even saying let the students from the north learn the local language before coming to kerala or any other states. one comment was like, south indians are learning hindi from lower classes by force, so the north indians learn malayalam as well. this is clearly a partisan thought in the creamy layer. but deep in it lies the crux which is actually the need. i completely reject any partisan thought and i am against any kind of regionalization.
i am not from the medical field. i am from kerala and working in a different state in the south, in the manufacturing industry in a managerial position. we have too many north indians as well as keralites working along with the local people. i can see communication issues highlighted by all of them in the middle and lower tier, especially the laborers, because of the language difference and there are errors happening in the process which ultimately is a financial loss for the company.
many companies do not invest any time and money at all towards local language training. this is a must in any field which will fuel the growth of the enterprise. communication will be easy. locals' respect towards the guests will be more. the guests can easily mingle with the locals and understand their culture. more importantly, workplace quality will be increased. errors in workplace can be minimized; clashes can be avoided.
not every person is quick in learning a local language. i have seen many of my friends grasping it quickly, but my observation is that it is because they are unintentionally forced to do so.
consider a manufacturing company in kerala; a person from andhra is coming as a supervisor. if both the andhra guy and the kerala gyu are not good in english, which is common to both of them, the only way out is the andhra guy picking up malayalam at the earliest. as a supervisor, he has to make sure there is minimal waste and errors, and his juniors are happy with him. otherwise, he can expect a backstab any time. the only uniting factor can be the language. this is the workplace culture everywhere. contrary to this, if the Andhra guy is a senior manager, he will be speaking to his subordinates who are middle level managers who most probably will be more or less fluent in english, which actually prevents him from learning the local language.
this is why initiatives from the management is necessary to provide language training. in medical field especially, institutions must ensure the students are proficient in communicative english as well and their grammatical knowledge is within a '8 out of 10' grade.
other than students from reputed english medium schools, the command over english, whether be it in kerala or elsewhere in the country is pathetic. i am surprised at the bad quality of english of people sitting in responsible posts in many big companies. i have even seen teachers (not language teachers) writing bad english.
so along with the local language, english proficiency also is a must. you can see examples of ias and ips offiers from other states coming to your states. as i understand, they have to learn the local language within three months and there are tutors especially for this purpose.
so instead of pushing or forcing the language, it must be part of the curriculum.

One has to accept that if he or she is going for any program or a long duration stay, specifically in a state where local language is the means to interact, must learn the local language.
Effort from the management will be the best way to come across this problem.
Making it optional as an additional subject without limitation in respect to duration.
It will be a win-win situation for all.

Try for SUT Academy. Its the only college where you can get good north indian foods. Other colleges don't provide north indian food.

The thing is that you can join in Kerala private medical college from Chennai but your neet score should be 550+ and the fee will be around 8 lakh per year and also we have to apply for KEAM so that we will be registered in Kerala n they'll give allotment based on Kerala rank.. So to come under the Kerala ranks we hav to apply for KEAM and register us there...

How much money are we supposed to pay in the first year ?
@@zaarahassan4707 Tution fee is around 8 lacks. And hostel is around 1 lack. Total fee to be paid for 1st yr is around 9lack -9.5 lacks.
Actually the tution fee increase every year by 6 percent. Last yr I took admission and I paid around 9lack for first year. So this yr it will be around 9.5 lacks.
From 2nd yr onwards it decreases by around 40k.
