Splitting the trailer load full of firewood dumped on the muddy ground is happening today AND IT IS NOT TO MUDDY AT ALL! Way cleaner than I and you thought it would be!
You talk the right amount. Love to see the wood being split. Good backup job too. The shorter the trailer the harder it is. Leave That debris for the Next dump. Keep the wood clean. That was great production.
Morning Chris! That’s the difference right there between a commercial splitter and a box store one like mine. There’s no way I would have put that big of a dent in those re-splits. That would have been a couple day job🤣 I was also worried when you dumped the wood in the mud but it looked great 🤷♂️ Take care👍🏻👍🏻GNI
G’Afternoon Chris ! Most excellent smallerizing today. Reminds me of the old days. Chuck-A-Luckster. I’m very excited for tomorrow’s video ! GoodNightIrene
Anyone who has ever driven a tractor trailer knows how hard it is to back a small trailer. It's near to impissible after having backed a long trailer for so long. I have major respect for those who can easily back short trailers. Nice splitting session.
It is obvious you have a ton of experience splitting wood .. it is also obvious that this splitter has been very good for/to you. Great backup by the way ... glad you found the hole. :)
You remind me of myself in a lot of ways, but lately I need to up my game to match your work ethic. I thought I was a workaholic bro ... then again you are just enjoying what you really enjoy and the people you share that with ... God bless.
Nice video/split ash. That wood looks to have actually dried quite a bit since the processor ate it. We are back in a burn ban warning because of high winds and very low relative humidity. Can’t play in the fire but the wood pile is drying quickly. Feel for the good people of Texas and Oklahoma and SW Nebraska who are losing so much to the big fires.
Morning Chris, great video Your splitter is really fast, but I've found it takes a fast operator to make a fast machine. Not sure if shortening the return stroke would give you anymore speed.? You probably dont need more anyway. I had to buy in some wood this yr, got a cord of blue gum that had been submerged by a horrendous flood caused by a cyclone. Totally smothered in silt. Took a lot of hosing to clean that down. You wood looked prime in comparrison. Cheers from HB NZ
You should try backing my motorcycle camper behind my one ton Long Box Crew Cab . It is about the same size as the Ultra As long as I do not see the Trailer I know it is going straight. Once I see it poking out at either side I know it is turning. You can get a Front receiver for Trucks..
Gotta love it, when bucking a log, when your measured cuts give you a round with ALL the knots and crotches in it, lol. Grain going every which way, odd shape chunks coming off when you yry to split it, and it WILL NOT behave and split like you want... I usually get tired of it, and either toss it in the campground pile, or if its grill wood- bust out the battery saw, and make grill chunks out of it. " Tell ME you aren't going to split...!"
Hi Chris!!😀😀 A Axis would be nice for doing resplits. But I don't think you could get it in between that set of bins. The ultra still does a great job!! Take care my friend!!😀😀💚💚 Logger Al
" Forgive me Father for I have sinned..." To funny! you must have went to a parochial school when you were young.. Made me laugh brought back memories for me:)
Chris, I,ve been noticing that you don't use the 4-way wedge anymore ( or rarely ) . Is that because of using the processor more ? Or do you have other reasons ? Love the channel !
Great video as always. What do y'all do when you split into some wood that's infested with termites, ants, etc? Do y'all still keep it or burn it? Thanks
What happened to your worker that was helping you. That pile would been done in no time awesome video I wish I could start a wood business but I have health issues and this job looks physical easy but like I said health problems keep me from doing this
Hey Chris, I’ve been watching your video’s for a while now and I’ve started selling firewood about 3 months ago and it’s going well so far. My question for ya is what are your thoughts on Ambrosia Maple that’s a bigger portion of the firewood I have around me in northeastern Iowa. I Was just curious on your thoughts about the wood do you think it’s worth the same as a oak log or even elm?
If people think that is muddy wood, they would've had an aneurysm if they saw the mud and dirt on the semi truck load of logs I finished bucking this past week.
@InTheWoodyard Stop blaming having to let us tag along, as the cause for slowing you down!🤣 We were completely quiet...It had to be all the attempts of backing the splitter with the truck, that were edited out and used all the time up!!🤣
It adds a lot of time moving cameras when by yourself. I thought about adding the commentary of that when doing my video but decided not to. Chris hit record button by accident.

Yup,. the short ones are very squirrelly!
Awesome vid that day Chris! Love all the ultra videos! 🔥💯👍. See you soon! Andrew from NB :)
🤙
Nice splitting today, Chris. You are working very hard.
Thanks!
Good Evening. Great hustle knocking down the pile.
Magic eraser, color picker, and clone tool and the mud will be gone.
Great job backing up.
Thanks 👍
The speed of that splitter is crazy
Yup, she moves!
Excellent backing! I have to readjust a bit when backing up my splitter. I’m also jealous of your snow-free setting. We’re still buried here.
Yup, short trailers are tough!
Ha! When you were backing that splitter I said to myself, "How is he even seeing that splitter?" Thanks for the explanation.
I was not esy, those things are very squirrelly!

Yup, they turn fast!
Nice splitting today, Chris. I have a magnetic marker for the saw i use on the splitter when backing up.😉👍
Great idea!!!
I need a fast splitter like yours. I cut twelve to fifteen full cords a year to heat my house and outbuildings. That would save me so much time!!!
Get one ordered!

Yup, for what I need the ultra does well.
Using my truck to move my splitter around is always a pain especially when I drive it two hours away to my place on the coast.
Maybe get another splitter??? One at each place??
Great day at the woodyard. 👍🏻
You got that right! Just like all the others!
Resplitting just one trailer load of firewood down to fine split takes a long time.
Yup, with 2 people it is 2x faster!
Money in the bin . Good morning Chris and friends another beautiful morning. Keep on cutting 😎
Yup, if we are alive it is a beautiful day.
" Forgive me Father for I have sinned..." To funny! you must have went to a parochial school when you were young.. Made me laugh brought back memories for me:)
Raised catholic.
same here that is why I picked up on it right away.
Good morning Chris you are number One on my list get the job done Ty Ron
Morning! Thanks!
Aaah dang.loo leave me on a cliffhanger getting a new chainsaw tomorrow uuuggghhh now I won't sleep.lol thanks for my personal splitter video Chris
Maybe he'll throw a few other videos in there before the new saw.
@@BertsCustomCuts lol yeah knowing my luck it's probably a week out,I'll check out you're in depth grind video too Bert, Thanks
No it is tomorrow!
Tomorrow!
I know,I appreciate it Chris
Good Sunday morning all.
Morning
Glad to see you had light traffic on your journey. 😂
Me too!
Yeah those knarly pieces that want to jump up and smack you in the face, perfect for Bert’s boiler! 🤕👍
Yup!
Hey, at 6:49 was that a piece of "Morning Wood"??
Ha! Maybe so!
Get It Chris.
Thanks!
My first Tacoma was easy to pop the tailgate off (thieves liked that). It was still too easu to oversteer.
Yup.
How does the splitter do on the highway? Bouncy? Seems like without anything to dampen the bumps it would hop.
I never pull it on the highway, I put it IN the bed for trips.
dish soap bottles make great oil cans for oiling things up like that
Great tip! Thanks!
Chris, I,ve been noticing that you don't use the 4-way wedge anymore ( or rarely ) . Is that because of using the processor more ? Or do you have other reasons ? Love the channel !
Re splits work easier with it and I can double it up if I have too and the nasty wood can be made better with it.
@@InTheWoodyard that's what I figured
Nearly done, new chainsaw interesting.
Wood. Is okay 👌
yup.
Great video as always. What do y'all do when you split into some wood that's infested with termites, ants, etc? Do y'all still keep it or burn it? Thanks
Thanks. We do not have termites here and any ants leave when the wood is dried.
Wood didn't look too dirty!! Nice splitting!! Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day
Thanks, you too!
Im sure im hated all my piled wood goes in the same place on a base of rock.been doing it for years no complaints other than haters on social media😊
No hate here, do what works for you! Keep cuttin'!
A little dirt won’t hurt!👍👍
Nope.
Hello Chris, Congratulations on your new STIHL chainsaws! Safe Splitting to ya my friend 🤘🏻🪵🇺🇸
Ha! See it right here tomorrow!
Andrew is gonna want to know who dressed you that morning. Nice Wolfridge sweatshirt.
It was an accident!
When you have spring weather all winter ya might have a litte mud on your wood!!
Yup, it does happen!
What happened to your worker that was helping you. That pile would been done in no time awesome video I wish I could start a wood business but I have health issues and this job looks physical easy but like I said health problems keep me from doing this
He was in school.
School. Just do what you can.
Fun show today Chris
Thanks!
Nice splitting session 👍
Thanks 👍
Hey I thought we where going on a road trip, there wasn't even enough time to ask are we there yet
I travel a lot! back AND forth.
Wondering where did all those pallets come from? Anybody know?
I got a few loads down the road at a business, and Chris has gotten some from a few other places in town.
I pick them up from businesses that are tossing them out. They are everywhere if you look/ask/craigs list/facebook marketplace.

I do not know what ambrosia maple is. I assume it is a soft maple?? All wood burns ...and as a mixed hardwood it would probably be fine...go for it.
Hey Chris! You really do most of your splitting with the Ultra? Well worth the investment I imagine?
Yup, it is awesome.
"Got it in the hole" that's all that matters
Yup, just like my good friend Carl the golf course groundskeeper at Bushwood .It's in the hole!
What's on the bottom ends on top. 1 year of rain and snow will get that dust of those logs.
Yup!
Good morning all!
Thanks!
I’ll meet you down there…I believe they do great BBQ’s
ok
Gotta love a Honda motor, always start.........(usually one pull)😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
You got that right!
🤘
Hellooooo!
Chris wearing wolf ridge sweatshirt, ultra says watch this splitting wood.
Yup. it was motivation!
If people think that is muddy wood, they would've had an aneurysm if they saw the mud and dirt on the semi truck load of logs I finished bucking this past week.
Yup, in the spring mud happens a lot!
Good Morning Woodhounds!! Late today folks...
Morning!
👍👍👍
Thanks!!!
its going to suck when all the ash is gone
Yup, it will be soon.
Using the tractor would make vision and control easier for backing
Yup but the truck worked fine.
Talking to yourself is fine just don't answer your self.
I told myself that lots of times but the other guy won't shut up.
Keep your V8 Tundra apparently the new V6 turbo not as good 😢
Maybe so. The new ones had issues with the turbos from a supplier during covid, now it has been resolved though.
put the tail gate down if you cant see it
nope, the table will hit.
You keep talking, Chris.
It all makes sense.
Thanks for watching!
Did you finally buy a Stihl!?!? 🤯🤯
???? maybe???
Mud will dry up blow away. Good pile
You got that right! Thanks!
You could have easily finished this pile up in time allotted...
But once again...All the yapping with yourself cost you way to much time!🤣
Tell me about it. Recording a video always adds lots of time!
