its because the display has been swapped out, even if the display was original from apple themself cos its paired to the motherboard. but you can reprogram the display for the true tone function to work

Even you can't change the battery by yourself the software will straight away reject it telling this isn't for this iphone unless apple registers that part to that iphone and face Id and some features will not work. So no components can be changed by yourself on iphone 12
