That looked so much fun, Alex. BTW, that bridge that you said Jo would love, it's not just her. Stunning views and challenging treks. It's good to be alive. Thanks for bringing us along.
That was a great trip & 3 great videos. The ebikes faired very well carrying all that extra load. Well done & thanks for the enjoyable videos, keep em coming. 👍👍👍
Glad you enjoyed the mini series and the ebikes didn’t really have any issue with the extra load although I would say the total additional load plus us were still considerably less than the bikes recommended Max carry weight
Did part of that loop from Ballater to Tomintoul when cycling the North East Way Tour (starts and ends in Aberdeen, through Ballater, Tomintoul, Ballindalloch, Fochabers, Portsoy, Ellon back to Aberdeen), was cursing the weather as it started snowing late in April... that Loch Builg hike was absolutely miserable in the cold, wet, and on 40mm tyres it's purely hike-a-bike anyway. Glad you had better weather and fatter tyres :D
You couldn't script the fall from the bike and the camera focussing on the bug, that was fantastic! The colours of the heather too. Beautiful! That bridge/tunnel bit at Aviemore train station is familiar to me, rented a lodge nearby for my 40th. Thanks for sharing the trip, it was enjoyable.
Great video as usual, looking forward to the van upgrade. We have been touring Harris and Lewis and there are lots of off-road cycle tracks which I would have loved to do on an e-bike. Will have to fork out for one soon.
I very much enjoyed Lewis and Harris my next trip there I would definitely be considering bringing the bikes for an adventure. They just a fun way to explore gravel tracks and dirt roads With ease and in a short space of time if need be
Glad you enjoyed. Being Chinese e-bikes very massively and offer large discounted. the Grey Ovia I think RPP was £1700 and now seen its on sale as low as £899. The green Ranger is newer RRP was £2500 but again a lot cheaper when on sale. The mapping app is “Outdooractive” app on iPhone
Another great video thanks, can I ask you how feasible it is for someone to do this trip or something similar without needing to pedal, (heart and lung problems prevent me being able to pedal) is there a ebike that would enable me to give it a go ? Many thanks for any information 👍🏻
Hi ronpalmer1371... sorry to hear about your condition, but any eBike which has a throttle, and you don't need to pedal is illegal in the UK. They should actually be called pedal assist bikes, as it is a legal requirement that they only assist when you pedal... sorry hope this helps.
Legally in the UK for normal E bikes are class as pedal assist so it is a requirement to pedal although on many e-bikes maximum assist setting the peddling can be almost no effort at all. I’m unsure if there are any differences for bikes modified for health reasons or any legal framework surrounding that.
@@MispronouncedAdventures Thank you so much for replying, just one more question if possible, I know nothing about ebikes except that only some are legal to use on the road, would an ebike that’s not legal on the road be okay to use on the tracks in this video ?
@ronpalmer1371 unfortunately no, any e-bike which is considered “illegal” it’s more or less for a number of reasons either can be electronically propelled faster than 15.5 mph, has a throttle which doesn’t require peddling, or has a continuous motor output higher than 250W ( and probably a few other points ). If it falls foul of any of those, it is no longer classed as a E-bike and classed as a “motorised vehicle”. Motorised vehicles require testing, insurance, numberplates, indicators and so want to be illegal to ride on the road without those. Additionally, once it is classed as a “motorised vehicle” like moped or motorbike it is no longer classed as an E-bike so you couldn’t be using a motorised vehicle on any land which normally allows cycling as it is no longer classed as such.
@@Ballynoes Thank you for your reply, I know nothing of ebikes except the more powerful twistgrip type are as you said illegal for road use, would you know if they are okay on trails like in this video or not allowed ? I’d love to explore trails but can only walk a few yards and definitely can’t pedal ☹️
Hi Alex and jo would it be lighter and easier to buy an extra two spare batteries considering the weights of the bikes ? ( i wrote this 5 min from end sorry) I throughly enjoyed the episodes 🏴❤️
I’d quite like to try that route on e-bikes but damn those midgies are off putting. Head nets are a must have in Scotland. Did the drone fly into you when it was chasing? It looks like it might of hit you? The bikes seemed to cope well considering you were on some pretty tough terrain, especially the grass and mud. The brakes sounded like train horns though! Jo is such a good sport, she never moans about the rain and mud and midgies. The rain is fine if you have hot showers and somewhere to dry your kit - wet kit is miserable. Is she an engineer? What’s with all the bridges? All the talk of wigwams, but you stayed in a hut! 😂 No canvas? Tomintul to Cock Bridge is a well travelled route and a favourite of BBC2 traffic reports! Also the Old Military Road runs parallel to it, I think.
Different parts of the year will have little no midges even whether dependent at times. No, it didn’t. I just did the cut but it was funny. It did come pretty whizzing past my head though! Considering they are cheaper brand bikes in the grand scheme things I’m very impressive their survivability even if the brakes were a bit squeaky She just cracks on with the adventure and she’s not an engineer but was an architect. I have to agree on the wigwams being more cabin that’s not traditionally what I have in mind A wigwam Is

Glad you also enjoyed the videos! To definitely is good to be alive and thank you, I love sharing adventures
@@MispronouncedAdventures That espresso machine doesn't look half bad either.

What a great trip. Definitely inspired me to try something similar
That’s the best feedback I could ever hope for really
You certainly do make enjoyable content. Many thanks. A really great video and series.
Thank you very much glad you enjoyed this little series!
Well what a fantastic adventure really enjoyed this one looking forward to seeing your next adventure atvb Jimmy 😎😎👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it! I’m looking forward to making the new adventure
Thanks to the both of you. Great 3 vids. Some challenges but those midges would put me off travelling there at that time of year.
Midges can definitely be an issue at the time of year

Yeah, I could definitely agree that would be horrible doing even worse weather! I’ve not heard of the Northeast Way Tour. I have to look that up
Loved the close-up of the heather 🤣😂
Haha, I only found that when I got to editing
Loved the videos, i had best get my arse outon the bike......😊
Get on an e-bike make sure you don’t do too much effort!

That’s for sure! It was funny seeing that little bug when I was doing the editing.
That BUG looks like a Tick. Just a thought.
