what is she looking for on the floor?
I’m surprised for seeing some couples in the final of this prestige competition. Probably most of the couples couldn’t come during pandemic or because of WDO in Dubai
@@globalcoupledances WDO is World Dance Organization, and recently WDO competition was held in Dubai. I think it was last weekend. Usually in WDC Al are participating Troels and Ina as well but I couldn’t see them on this competition,as many couples who are most of the times in the finals. So, that’s why I was wondering why I couldn’t see them in Assen.
Definitely it's a small "war" between Organizations and couples are totally confused. Assen was always a big competition, almost equal as Blackpool. The only difference is that couples from WDC and WDO could participate in Blackpool. And the main organiser of Assen is Donnie Burns. Kirill and Viktoria stopped dancing together while ago, before Dubai. Stefano and Anna announced their partnership, still don't know when they will start to compete and in which organization. It's totally mess
@@globalcoupledances Kirill and Vika split a while ago.
@@globalcoupledances he split with Polina and now with viktoriaa?

The dancers all seem to work hard -- rather than enjoy the the dancing... Even if they remember to smile some times, it appears forced. Don't know, if this can be improved -- given the pressure and the stakes -- but I wish it could be...
What a highly annoying comment clearly posted by a non-dancer. You can enjoy dancing without smiling, you can look serious and still be in the zone experiencing the time of your life. Do you smile when you get an enormous adrenaline rush which is what sometimes happens at this level and skill , no you are in the zone your reflexes, reaction time, strength increase making your body capable of meeting the challenge at hand.
@@winningtechnique1849, if you must talk about ME,- I'll point out, that, although I'm not a dancer myself, I'm a VERY close relative of one. And I know that this is not a pleasurable pastime, that dancing is for the rest of us, but a DEMANDING SPORT. At least, for the first 5+ years of training.
I thought, it becomes easier -- and more enjoyable -- with time, but this video shows, that it does not. Certainly not for everyone...
@@wombatsgalore You are missing the point - It can be extremely enjoyable even though you are not smiling. Start dancing, get good, and we can talk again.
@@winningtechnique1849, even if not actually smiling, the facial expression ought to reveal enjoyment. Which it does not here.
This is not about me, don't make it personal.
@@wombatsgalore No it doesn`t - Paso Doble is a good example, what you would see is exactly the opposite - which is perfectly in line with the dance and the music - aggressive, tense and even menacing facial expressions. This applies to other dances too - it depends on the music who is dancing and what they are trying to express so yes it is very much about you and rather your lack of understanding of what being on the dance floor in a partner dance , dancing to latin american music is like.
