- A compilation of Sand Rail Buggies, vintage buggies, home-made buggies, dune buggies and high jumper buggies. This is in some what of a chronological order Filmed during the week of July 1st-5th 2013. Like the week, as the video goes deeper the bigger the horsepower comes out. So, stay with the movie, it ends very well! ENJOY!

I live in Indiana and I have come here every summer since I can remember. I'm finally 16 so I get to drive my truck and I'm super excited!! My grandpa has a sand rail and my dad has a long travel buggy he's working on, I hope to buy my own toy in the future.

I was there in 1989 I think. Was tons of fun.
I grew up summers just north in Pentwater, I bought a 1980 YZ465 when they came out and it was so awesome at Silver Lake . My sand rails held no thought to my big bore dirt bike in the sand. I launched off the top of the biggest dune and cleared the back side and planted in the flat sand resulting in my dingle berries swelling up and bending the fork tubes.
I also ran the drags near there in the past. Val-Du-Lakes was the hot concert place by there also. HORDE fest 1994 was there

Holy shit! I'm betting the driver of the green rail @ 1:08 has a hell of a headache after about a minute of driving. That dude needs to customize his rail to either raise the roof or lower the seat mounts! OUCH!

I never understand why people park at the top of the hill. Why not move so more people can attempt the climb?
I am guilty of stopping for two minutes to hop out and take a picture. What gets me is when people park up there half the day and you get cross travel all over the top from pedestrians.

You can buy different kits and weld together.
Certainly the Bronco guy knows that applying all that torque in reverse ruins the rings and pinions in the differentials, right? Maybe not.

Alec Comstock Nope, I drive a ZR2. All these are just folks playing on the dunes. Thanks for watching. In other videos, I have footage of riding in someones Orange Chevy K-series Blazer. That might be what your talking about. I don't know if one those might have caught fire.

So sad this is what they refer to as sand dunes. I'm so glad I'm only 2 hours from Glamis. Where there's real sand dunes.

Uh , yah NO !! The "REAL" dunes are just a little further north in Oregon. I used 2 dune with this bunch of guys that would come up 2 Oregon twice a year and drive right past Glamis. And they said it was cuz the dunes in Glamis dont even compare 2 the Oregon dunes

Cool video. Fat guys should not ride in VW powered rails, besides slow, it is just not visually pleasing. That stank diesel at 38;15 about made me sick.
