So to claim my own idea of how I'd change this "all rounder + speedster" problem--they need to have a "brawler" passive.. like Garchomp getting faster the longer he attacks is so scary, and so good. I think ceruledge needed something like that to make it less like a speedster assassin
Agreed, I would love to see more water types with more aquatic-based movement types and body plans. Give us some fish, some crabs, some clams, whatever. There are so many water types and yet most of them in Unite are just bipeds. Unfortunately we're probably just going to get Swampert and Empoleon instead.
I don't claim to be an expert inside of pokemon unite, but it does give me some real speedster vibes for an all rounder. That being said, I'd like to see some more attention on supporters. I really wish the game was better set up for supporters to thrive outside of top tier gameplay
The fundamental nature of a supporter is being a force multiplier. Unfortunately that means if the force you’re multiplying is zero…well…you’re going to have a bad time.

I came back to Unite this week to play a few matches before Ceruledge came out! It was annoying to claim all of my notifications on the Home Screen, but at least I can play again!

P.S: in the beginning of the video you talked about how Phantom Force negates damage such as Icycle Spear-Icycle Spear actually hits Ceruledge through Phantom Force. This has happened to me and a lot of others. I haven’t tested anything yet but I think there are some moves that do ignore Phantom Force or Phantom Force might bug sometimes. Maybe it only happens to sure hit moves??
Phantom Force only makes you untargetable, not invincible. You still eat all of the damage from abilities (namely aoes) with the downside of not being able to see your own health bar.
@@frankpennachio2901 You might be able to dodge it during the initial cast. But not just sitting in the shadow. EDIT: Played a couple more games since. Can confirm, you are definitely still able to take damage while in shadow/hide state.
I bought him! Not a good start with the win rate but I love the gameplay. I love how fast everything is happening with Ceruledge, love the chase downs, love the hit and runs! Just need to be better in being effective in team fights, how I can use him more efficiently, and my rotation. Bad start, but loving the Pokemon!
Yes, yes, yes you should buy it. My favorite design, (and Pokémon) I currently have everyone except Ceruledge. Of course, there are some reasons not to, like if you need a supporter but still really great.
He isn't even the best All Rounder, you could never pick this Over a TTar, Mimi, Failinks, Gyriados or Metagross. So, if you have so many better choices, why buy? It's "the design"? If you buy stuff in your life based by how they look rather then how they perform, you do you, but you're wrong

I'll get it with coins the moment I can, but I really hope bitter blade gets at least a healing buff so it helps the sustain and brawling Without it, it doesn't feel like it can really claim the title of an all-rounder, in a lot of ways this feels like a speedster.

I think a good change to bitter blade would have it interact with the wound stacks. Like if it made the wound damage increase for like 3 seconds or something. Wound overall just feels like its just tacked in there imo
Personally, when I claim a pokemon for my roster, I just want it to be fun. I think that ceruledge fits that perfectly from what I've seen and videos and have used it for via rental licenses. Phantom force seems great in certain situations to dodge unite moves, and psycho cut looks like it has a lot of really good overall burst damage. Definitely want to pick this thing up!

Fun fact: Pikachu was not originally intended to be the mascot of Pokémon. The creators initially considered Claimfairy for this role. However, Pikachu's popularity, especially after the success of the anime, led to its status as the beloved face of the franchise.
You could claim it isn't as elaborate as other mons in the game, but I love how Ceruledge's moveset seems to be inspired by anime swordfighters. That small instant on its unite move where it stuns opponents before dealing the damage HAS to be a way to portray in gameplay the cinematography of similar finishers in anime.
It is kinda fun to use I do get confused about one of the moves....I do prefer Dragonite or Googra sometimes...it is cool and I do want it...but I don't know,nice video btw👍 I do claim points by using Dragonite thou
Ceruledge and Falinks have been my favorites for Violet, so I'm pretty happy with the recent releases. Now if we could get Cubone with Marowak/Alolan Marowak evolutions.

So glad it's in the game, definitely one of the cooler new designs from Scarlet and Violet. The only thing that could have made this better and add a cool layer to it being an all-rounder (I don't claim to be a good designer by any means) would have been if they offered a split evolution choice in game where you can go Ceruledge if you wanted the speedster/brawler mix or go Armarouge if you wanted ranged dps

Been having a lot of fun with Ceruladge. Been using Phantom Force and Bitter Blade. Got most of its event pass events done, should be able to claim the skin in a week or two.

After trying Ceruledge out a bit, I think Ceruledge is neither an all-rounder nor a speedster. He just kinda rides the line inbetween both roles. I feel like there has been a weird pattern of Timi making these hybrid-role pokémon and classifying them as all-rounders, for example in the early days we had Lucario, Machamp and Tsareena being a hybrid of both roles, and recently we had Mimikyu, Blaziken and of course, Ceruledge, falling under the same category. Heck, even Zacian and Dark-Urshifu can claim to be such All-rounder-speedster hybrids. Regardless, Ceru seems really fun, I'll probably buy him once he becomes available as a coin purchase.
I'd like to use this comment to proclaim the fact that I can't help but give a hint of a smile when Spragels exclaims "Yee-haw" at the start of his videos, as well as how much I enjoyed his coverage of the Last Stretch tournament this past weekend. I do believe he should be acclaimed as caster of the year.
Ceruledge is a pretty cool design for a pokemon, and I plan on getting it when it becomes available for gold. I do wanna note though that Pokemon Company or Timi or whoever is in charge of picking characters to put in Pokemon Unite seem to have proclaimed their preference for Violet over Scarlet as we have gotten Miraidon and Ceruledge, both Violet exclusives.

I always appreciate your breakdowns and thorough insight on whether new releases are a good investment, especially based on play style! Now some may claim all Pokemon are pay to win, but I think you always do a good job highlighting skill and play style as the primary way to win.
Been playing psycho cut and phantom force. I run muscle band, energy amp/attack weight and Curse Bangle. It feels like I have everything I need to be useful. Armor shred for me and my team, aoe heal cut, and true damage to finish enemies off or defend goals and so much damage from ult to coinflip games. I also take shedninja doll. It’s insane the amount of time he can stall with invincibility. I’ve gotten some insane outplays on multiple enemies vs just me with one HP going all over the place with invincibility. Crazy character.
I really like ceruledge, I didn't really like it at first in the main games but then I got violet and used it on my main team and really enjoyed it, i love its game design to which is something i love about untie, it brings a new flavor of design to Pokemon i dont really care for and then claims my feelings of love in battle and design :)
I agree that the most important thing in choosing licenses is that the pokemon is fun and feels true to the pokemon's design/personality. But I don't claim to be a high level player, I'm just trying to enjoy the franchise
I think that ceruledge might be one of the more balanced Pokémon that unite can claim to have released at this point in time. I'd love to play with you sometime spragels and talk about what I'm missing in my allrounder/defender playstyle.
Ceruledge looks so cool!!! There are tons of all-rounders right now, tho, so we probably need something else, something outstanding from him to claim it as our first pick option when it comes to all-rounders; specially with Falinks out there. Overall a very cool design
Some people say that this pokemon may get a massive buff of some sorts but I only expect it to get maybe a bitter blade change or make the pokemon more bulky to withstand more team fight damage But hey anything is possible with the unite devs, so trying to claim it right now (with gems) would probably not be worth it tbh

Cereuledge is one of my favorites of gen 9. Lately, I have beeh appreciating it even more since the new horizons anime. Additionally, cereluedges blend of burst and dash seems like a fun playstyle. I do wonder how it will fair among other all rounders. My hope is that Spragels notices what I've done here and I'll be able to check it out for myself.
On the new pokemon game, I made a Dark team, and with the new terrastallize, it claims that Ceruledge actually works well with a Dark Crystal. And after seeing this video, makes me want to get it here too.
I don’t claim to be best unite player but I’m really working on my depth. I’m loving Meowscarada - the first speedster I can actually play haha. Because I love the Ceruledge vibes, I’m definitely spending my coins on it next week!!
I'm so glad you also noticed the unite move low sensitivity. My sensitivity is set pretty high, if not max, and going to aim the unite move always throws me off. I'm not sure why they didn't link it to your desired setting. Also, I can't see myself putting it in A tier. B+ sure. A tier mons, at least to me, need to be able to hold their own more often than not and Ceruledge is too squishy for a melee all rounder with almost no sustain. Unite move is awesome with incredible burst and can easily set up multi KO's but outside of that, good luck diving multiple mons without a level lead. Could be skill issue too so I'm keeping that in mind. Interested to see where Ceruledge finds itself in the meta.

I can understand the vibes coming from spragels with ceruledge. This pokemon looks to be quite fun in gameplay and the moves look unique. If i were to get this pokemon and add to my roster, i’d be playing it a lot. Ceruledge might end up meta as well so it could be a good grab. Tho i wish my boy buzzwole can soon reclaim his glory. Ceruledge looks very interesting to me because of the healing aspect. I've reached master in the past thanks to water Urshifu and recently with Scizor because of that healing. But when I'm in draft, since this pokemon is so new and popular, I worry that I'll buy it and others will claim it before I get to. So I'd spend my money and not get to use the Boi, so I'd just be using scizor again.

Generally speaking, i actually would compare Ceruledge to Scyther or Greninja surf set in the way he plays with Pycho Cut and Flame Charge, but thats just me. He DEFINITELY needs a bit of a tune-up, but id say hes in a good place atm.
Ceruledge is one of my favourite Gen 9 Pokemon and I've been very much looking forward to it be playable inside of Pokémon unite since the leak. I agree with your claim that Bitter Blade is currently underwhelming , at least in practice mode for me. Falinks feels better except the Unite move at the moment.
I'd want bitter blade to have a bit more recovery or lifesteal, so that it can be similar to Scyther/Scizor, where they have two different level five abilities that let them have completely different playstyles, but you can change up the second move. Also, just looking at all of the shameless comments using the word "claim"... (disclaimer - this is a joke) I disclaim the fact that they are allowed to get a free ceruledge.
I'll be honest ceruledge has been one of my favorite pokemon since coming back into the Pokémon universe. The last game I played before my break was Pokémon Platinum. Then I started playing Pokémon Scarlet and saw that I didn't get ceruledge. Many people claim that armorouge is better but I believe that ceruledge is the best of the two. In short I'll get this pokemon for sure. After watching your live stream earlier I realize that it isn't the best but I love it as a Pokémon so I'll end up getting it in a week when it's free. ceruledge looks cool but as a relatively new player it's not really a priority for me. MIGHT make it my next priority after blaziken, sylveon, and something else(maybe sableye? maybe mewtwo x? maybe gyarados? maybe scizor sheerly because it essentially is a two for the price of one deal? who knows, i haven't gotten that far yet) depending on how much it clicks with me
I’m excited for Ceruledge, but I’m really hoping for something like Meganium or Dudunsparce to get into the game. With Serene Grace being Dudunsparce’s main claim to fame, it’d be cool to see it paralyze, flinch, and provide a lot of CC in-game

Ceruledge seems balanced so far. Looking to buy balanced new releases are better than overpowered releases then getting nerfed immediately. Along with that, you get a pokemon that seems fun and smooth to play with the two movesets! I'll probably get this pokemon if only... Maybe I have more coins 😢
Personally outside of unite Ceruledge is pretty sick, one of the best designs for sword and shield imo. Additionally despite not being super overpowered I think it’d be really cool to claim this unite license, it looks really slick!
Honestly ceruledge is my favorite S/V pokemon and I’m so excited it’s finally releasing. I definitely can’t claim to be the only person who loves ceruledge, but I’m up there.
I exclaimed when this was announced and the trailer came out! So pumped to play this, I bought Scarlet and spent way too much time trading to get this on my team before the E4.
I just love the play of most all rounders I mained only them before I branched out and learned to play more. I saw Falinks and knew I wanted to actually use it (I'm loving Beat up, Iron Head), but with Ceruledge I just kinda want it so I can have fun and play some mess about games with it, feels like it would be fun to mess about with whilst playing with some friends. Not gonna stop me from going to claim my own tho ;)
The unit move looks epic, but the rest is kinda meh at the moment. All of that will change of there's even a slight buff, which normally is what I would be waiting for, but not this time. I'm keen to get as much practice in as possible using it, before any buff, then I'll be ready to go nuts and hopefully get some great team results. I think it would work really well with a SlowB or Crustie as a team damage/ defend pairing. With that combo we could claim some wins for the team! I can only hope! Great wrap up vid btw. Totally agree with your view on Falinks. It's a lot of fun to play!
I can’t wait to play with Ceruledge. It was my self appointed and self acclaimed starter in violet. It was fun to play in that game and it looks fun to play in unite.
Call me crazy, but I think that this Pokémon is a lot like Blaziken. I know it sounds pretty weird to make some sort of a claim like that, but outside of blaziken’s stance change, he has solid mobility, can kinda roll a team if you somewhat know what you’re doing, and he can still hunt down enemies and still come out on top.
It would have been cool if they made Charcadet have different movesets that evolve into Ceruledge or Armarouge. I would definitely spend real money to claim that on release date.

ceruledge looks crazy fun. i messed around with it a little in the practice room when it dropped, and it felt pretty satisfying to play! its not super high priority for me (im f2p and low on coins, so im forced to be frugal), but it definitely has my attention. I'll have to mess around when i get the limited license so i can see how it feels in an actual match. im a meowscarada main though, and ceruledge feels a bit similar in some ways, so im not sure itll be worth getting for me anytime soon

Ceruledge looks really fun, and I enjoy its design. I'll get it with coins the moment I can, but I really hope bitter blade gets at least a healing buff so it helps the sustain and brawling Without it, it doesn't feel like it can really claim the title of an all-rounder, in a lot of ways this feels like a speedster.

I think a good change to bitter blade would have it interact with the wound stacks. Like if it made the wound damage increase for like 3 seconds or something. Wound overall just feels like its just tacked in there imo
Personally, when I claim a pokemon for my roster, I just want it to be fun. I think that ceruledge fits that perfectly from what I've seen and videos and have used it for via rental licenses. Phantom force seems great in certain situations to dodge unite moves, and psycho cut looks like it has a lot of really good overall burst damage. Definitely want to pick this thing up!

This pokemon is the most "wobbly" pokemons i have even felt. Its the first pokemon i bought with gems.. i can only expect it to get buffed.

You could claim it isn't as elaborate as other mons in the game, but I love how Ceruledge's moveset seems to be inspired by anime swordfighters.
That small instant on its unite move where it stuns opponents before dealing the damage HAS to be a way to portray in gameplay the cinematography of similar finishers in anime.

Ceruledge and Falinks have been my favorites for Violet, so I'm pretty happy with the recent releases. Now if we could get Cubone with Marowak/Alolan Marowak evolutions.

So glad it's in the game, definitely one of the cooler new designs from Scarlet and Violet. The only thing that could have made this better and add a cool layer to it being an all-rounder (I don't claim to be a good designer by any means) would have been if they offered a split evolution choice in game where you can go Ceruledge if you wanted the speedster/brawler mix or go Armarouge if you wanted ranged dps

Been having a lot of fun with Ceruladge. Been using Phantom Force and Bitter Blade. Got most of its event pass events done, should be able to claim the skin in a week or two.

After trying Ceruledge out a bit, I think Ceruledge is neither an all-rounder nor a speedster.
He just kinda rides the line inbetween both roles. I feel like there has been a weird pattern of Timi making these hybrid-role pokémon and classifying them as all-rounders, for example in the early days we had Lucario, Machamp and Tsareena being a hybrid of both roles, and recently we had Mimikyu, Blaziken and of course, Ceruledge, falling under the same category. Heck, even Zacian and Dark-Urshifu can claim to be such All-rounder-speedster hybrids.
Regardless, Ceru seems really fun, I'll probably buy him once he becomes available as a coin purchase.
I'd like to use this comment to proclaim the fact that I can't help but give a hint of a smile when Spragels exclaims "Yee-haw" at the start of his videos, as well as how much I enjoyed his coverage of the Last Stretch tournament this past weekend. I do believe he should be acclaimed as caster of the year.
Ceruledge is a pretty cool design for a pokemon, and I plan on getting it when it becomes available for gold. I do wanna note though that Pokemon Company or Timi or whoever is in charge of picking characters to put in Pokemon Unite seem to have proclaimed their preference for Violet over Scarlet as we have gotten Miraidon and Ceruledge, both Violet exclusives.

Now some may claim all Pokemon are pay to win, but I think you always do a good job highlighting skill and play style as the primary way to win.
Been playing psycho cut and phantom force. I run muscle band, energy amp/attack weight and Curse Bangle. It feels like I have everything I need to be useful. Armor shred for me and my team, aoe heal cut, and true damage to finish enemies off or defend goals and so much damage from ult to coinflip games. I also take shedninja doll. It’s insane the amount of time he can stall with invincibility. I’ve gotten some insane outplays on multiple enemies vs just me with one HP going all over the place with invincibility. Crazy character.
I really like ceruledge, I didn't really like it at first in the main games but then I got violet and used it on my main team and really enjoyed it, i love its game design to which is something i love about untie, it brings a new flavor of design to Pokemon i dont really care for and then claims my feelings of love in battle and design :)
I agree that the most important thing in choosing licenses is that the pokemon is fun and feels true to the pokemon's design/personality. But I don't claim to be a high level player, I'm just trying to enjoy the franchise

I think that ceruledge might be one of the more balanced Pokémon that unite can claim to have released at this point in time. I'd love to play with you sometime spragels and talk about what I'm missing in my allrounder/defender playstyle.

Ceruledge looks so cool!!! There are tons of all-rounders right now, tho, so we probably need something else, something outstanding from him to claim it as our first pick option when it comes to all-rounders; specially with Falinks out there. Overall a very cool design
Some people say that this pokemon may get a massive buff of some sorts but I only expect it to get maybe a bitter blade change or make the pokemon more bulky to withstand more team fight damage
But hey anything is possible with the unite devs, so trying to claim it right now (with gems) would probably not be worth it tbh
Hopefully by the end of this year and sometime next year, Infernape and Incineroar drop.

Cereuledge is one of my favorites of gen 9. Lately, I have beeh appreciating it even more since the new horizons anime. Additionally, cereluedges blend of burst and dash seems like a fun playstyle. I do wonder how it will fair among other all rounders. My hope is that Spragels notices what I've done here and I'll be able to check it out for myself.

On the new pokemon game, I made a Dark team, and with the new terrastallize, it claims that Ceruledge actually works well with a Dark Crystal. And after seeing this video, makes me want to get it here too.
I made the claim that basic builds are going to be more picked because it's easier though I wish the skill shots would get buffed later on.
I don’t claim to be best unite player but I’m really working on my depth. I’m loving Meowscarada - the first speedster I can actually play haha. Because I love the Ceruledge vibes, I’m definitely spending my coins on it next week!!
I'm so glad you also noticed the unite move low sensitivity. My sensitivity is set pretty high, if not max, and going to aim the unite move always throws me off. I'm not sure why they didn't link it to your desired setting.
Also, I can't see myself putting it in A tier. B+ sure. A tier mons, at least to me, need to be able to hold their own more often than not and Ceruledge is too squishy for a melee all rounder with almost no sustain. Unite move is awesome with incredible burst and can easily set up multi KO's but outside of that, good luck diving multiple mons without a level lead. Could be skill issue too so I'm keeping that in mind. Interested to see where Ceruledge finds itself in the meta.

I can understand the vibes coming from spragels with ceruledge. This pokemon looks to be quite fun in gameplay and the moves look unique. If i were to get this pokemon and add to my roster, i’d be playing it a lot. Ceruledge might end up meta as well so it could be a good grab. Tho i wish my boy buzzwole can soon reclaim his glory. I love him.

Ceruledge looks very interesting to me because of the healing aspect. I've reached master in the past thanks to water Urshifu and recently with Scizor because of that healing. But when I'm in draft, since this pokemon is so new and popular, I worry that I'll buy it and others will claim it before I get to. So I'd spend my money and not get to use the Boi, so I'd just be using scizor again.

Generally speaking, i actually would compare Ceruledge to Scyther or Greninja surf set in the way he plays with Pycho Cut and Flame Charge, but thats just me. He DEFINITELY needs a bit of a tune-up, but id say hes in a good place atm.
Ceruledge is one of my favourite Gen 9 Pokemon and I've been very much looking forward to it be playable inside of Pokémon unite since the leak. I agree with your claim that Bitter Blade is currently underwhelming , at least in practice mode for me. Falinks feels better except the Unite move at the moment.

Ceruledge is the first Pokemon I bought with gems and havn’t played anything else since. It’s just an awesome pokemon.
I'd want bitter blade to have a bit more recovery or lifesteal, so that it can be similar to Scyther/Scizor, where they have two different level five abilities that let them have completely different playstyles, but you can change up the second move. Also, just looking at all of the shameless comments using the word "claim"... (disclaimer - this is a joke) I disclaim the fact that they are allowed to get a free ceruledge.
I'll be honest ceruledge has been one of my favorite pokemon since coming back into the Pokémon universe. The last game I played before my break was Pokémon Platinum. Then I started playing Pokémon Scarlet and saw that I didn't get ceruledge. Many people claim that armorouge is better but I believe that ceruledge is the best of the two. In short I'll get this pokemon for sure. After watching your live stream earlier I realize that it isn't the best but I love it as a Pokémon so I'll end up getting it in a week when it's free. ceruledge looks cool but as a relatively new player it's not really a priority for me. MIGHT make it my next priority after blaziken, sylveon, and something else(maybe sableye? maybe mewtwo x? maybe gyarados? maybe scizor sheerly because it essentially is a two for the price of one deal? who knows, i haven't gotten that far yet) depending on how much it clicks with me

Ceruledge seems balanced so far. Looking to buy balanced new releases are better than overpowered releases then getting nerfed immediately. Along with that, you get a pokemon that seems fun and smooth to play with the two movesets! I'll probably get this pokemon if only... Maybe I have more coins 😢

Personally outside of unite Ceruledge is pretty sick, one of the best designs for sword and shield imo. Additionally despite not being super overpowered I think it’d be really cool to claim this unite license, it looks really slick!

I exclaimed when this was announced and the trailer came out! So pumped to play this, I bought Scarlet and spent way too much time trading to get this on my team before the E4.
I just love the play of most all rounders I mained only them before I branched out and learned to play more. I saw Falinks and knew I wanted to actually use it (I'm loving Beat up, Iron Head), but with Ceruledge I just kinda want it so I can have fun and play some mess about games with it, feels like it would be fun to mess about with whilst playing with some friends. Not gonna stop me from going to claim my own tho ;)

The unit move looks epic, but the rest is kinda meh at the moment. All of that will change of there's even a slight buff, which normally is what I would be waiting for, but not this time. I'm keen to get as much practice in as possible using it, before any buff, then I'll be ready to go nuts and hopefully get some great team results. I think it would work really well with a SlowB or Crustie as a team damage/ defend pairing. With that combo we could claim some wins for the team! I can only hope!

Call me crazy, but I think that this Pokémon is a lot like Blaziken. I know it sounds pretty weird to make some sort of a claim like that, but outside of blaziken’s stance change, he has solid mobility, can kinda roll a team if you somewhat know what you’re doing, and he can still hunt down enemies and still come out on top.

ceruledge looks crazy fun. i messed around with it a little in the practice room when it dropped, and it felt pretty satisfying to play!
its not super high priority for me (im f2p and low on coins, so im forced to be frugal), but it definitely has my attention. I'll have to mess around when i get the limited license so i can see how it feels in an actual match.
im a meowscarada main though, and ceruledge feels a bit similar in some ways, so im not sure itll be worth getting for me anytime soon
