    Jan, you do an outstanding job on yr vids/drone footage!! But for some of us, it would be helpful to know where the footage was taken, what glacier/area/waterfall is in the photos, and sometimes dates and temps too!! Just a simple note at the bottom of the pics would be awesome!! ❤❤❤

    Excellent channel and videos sir.
    Me and two friends are headed to Iceland on Thursday and I’m seeing how the weather is looking more and more like a storm for a majority of the time we’ll be there.
    Your videos and insight have helped me try and create a plan A, B, and C for different weather conditions.
    Nice work Jan! Hope to maybe run into you while we’re there:)

      thank you so much Elias! Yeah it looks like you will experience some stormy weather, but as long as it's not pouring rain where you are, you will probably enjoy some of those stormy skies for photography. But also fingers crossed for some weather windows, especially in the evening so you can catch some aurora, too!

      Hi Alex! Yeah it's fine already, the temperatures are back to normal and you shouldn't encounter any snow on the road anywhere unless you choose to drive on f road into the highlands for example

    That snow in August that covered the mountaintops? That's what my son and I were in while hiking from Dreki to Askja. We never saw the lake, only a wall of white coming down with high winds. Memorable hike, but very few photos taken! Will have to come back and do it again, of course. So much to see!

      @janiniceland  10 дней назад

      Haha yeah I think this kind of weather is really an experience in itself and sometimes create more memorable experience than if it was just sunshine and rainbows 😀 but of course if you can get a good weather next time around, that'd be great, there're some really nice views over the lake!

    Thank you for the video! I just got back to California from Iceland. I almost finished ring road, but ran right into the storm with my really small van and went back instead of heading further north. I had a wonderful window of weather while there and got to do soo much. When it's cold, its COLD lol

      @janiniceland thank you so much for saying that. I appreciate that you know changing plans there can sometimes be for the best lol. It's not good to learn new things while there lol. I've been to Patagonia, but Iceland definitely seemed colder and I don't even know how to explain it lol.

    Hi Jan, it was awesome to see the snow covered mountains in the distance.
    Glad that you got the footage of the Waterfall. It is always amazing to see how much force is generated with the falling water.
    It is kind of crazy to have your first snow this early in September. I was surprised to see the snow accumulating on the road without melting from the warmer road surfaces. The weather is Iceland can be harsh but the landscape is sure beautiful.

    • @janiniceland
      @janiniceland  14 дней назад

      Hello Ben! Yes I totally agree. I also think its the combination of harsh weather and the beauty that makes this places so special. And waterfalls, well always happy to visit those :)

      @@janiniceland wow thank you so much. My wife and I are going on our honeymoon on September 22nd to Iceland! We’re extremely excited just trying to tighten up our itinerary. How accurate is your guys google maps? How much time do you plan just in case of bad weather?

    • @janiniceland
      @janiniceland  13 дней назад +2

      @@travisransom5251 Pretty accurate if it's a paved road, add bit more time for gravel roads. But generally for people visiting especially for the first time I would suggest adding a bit of time to whatever driving time google maps spits out. Just because thwere might be many unplanned views stops along the way. Always set the main objective for the day and try to approach the rest more spontaneously. The main mistake people do is to ,,try to see everything'' and end up being in a constant rush. You could be coming back for years and still not see everything, so keep that in mind, take in easy and enjoy your honeymoon!

      @@janiniceland thank you for the advice! I truly appreciate it. I better label must sees locations and maybe’s. I have a whole extra day in my itinerary for wiggle room. Coming from Iowa USA where we are known for rushing to see everything because we have nothing to see here. I will remember your advice to slow down and enjoy. God bless.

      @@travisransom5251Advance Congrats!! My hubby and I just got home last night from a 10 day, 25th anniversary trip. Absolutely mind-blowing nature eye candy!! My bit of advice, if it's a nice (not rainy) day, do as much as you can fit in!! We were so tired after two canyon hikes in one day but squeezed in going to diamond beach for pics. Thank goodness, because the next/last 2 days were rain and hurricane force winds!! That said, the best time for Jokusarlon glacier lagoon is after or even during rain. Glaciers are bluer when colder. The sun causes cracking and thus they look whiter! 🤯 Anyway, do enjoy!!!❤❤❤
