  • Take a video tour with me round the stands and exhibits of the national model engineering exhibition which runs annualy in Harrogate, England. Exibits include a large range of model steam locomotoves, traction engines, stationary engines, boats and air craft. Also in attendance are trade stands including names such as Myford, Warco, RDG and Stuart models. This video also includes a link to Boxford CNC turning demonstations carried out by myself and a friend.

Please forgive my ignorance, but growing up in the public school system we were never taught that the engineering geniuses that kick started the industrial revolution actually made their own engines.
It was an "OMG" moment when it dawned on me that James Watt, the Wright Brothers, Glenn Curtis, Pratt & Whitney, Henry Ford, etc. didn't have the luxury of buying engines 'off the shelf'. Today it doesn't surprise me to what the creative and dedicated mind can create. Thank you for sharing and educating.

I would absolutely love to see this exhibition in person, but, since that is highly unlikely, your video serves the purpose just fine.We ,who will never have the opportunity of being there, are well served by the technology of our time.Thank you,Mr.Crispin for your dedication to both the folks who display their superb models, and those of us who love to see them!

I found your channel. It’s absolutely marvelous. This video reminds me when I visted London back in 2001 and got the opportunity to spend 2 full days jaw dropping in the Since Museum, with another 2 days in the Natural History. The ship engine rooms models were maybe the best part. Now back to your teaching me. Thank you.

Fortunately I just found your Chanel.Your work is outstanding it's a testament to the R.R. apprenticeship and your abilities .
The show was amazing, the Bentley breathtaking the attention to detail fantastic.
Britain has always been Mecca for model engineering nothing like it here in California.Unless one's willing to drive huge distances.
However the availability of larger machine tools and equipment like
Hardinge Bridgeport ,KT is second to none for quality and price.
Looking forward to watching more of your video's.Thank you .

Would love one day to see in person one of these Exhibitions, however Long way to travel. PS I also enjoyed the commentary, it was invaluable in as much as it put things in perspective. My goodness. A lot of people say if they win the lottery they would buy this and buy that and do this and do that. I'll tell you if I ever won the lottery I would join one of these engine building societies, completely fund it and learn everything there is to learn about making all these beauties. That would be if I ever had the money to not have to go to work everyday. Because this is truly art and something that must live on forever

I mean of course I'd love it if all steam engines ran on renewal electricity but for now I have nothing against small steam engines like this... The problem comes when you have millions of them running 24/7 for many years. Some people don't seem to understand that (probably the same people who disliked)
