Dear Bhante, what I've heard from you and from many other teachers is that i can tell myself to let go of worry, attachment, etc....it seems to me that there's an I or me, myself that can let go. I've also learned a rare explanation from Ajahn Sujin Boriharnwanaket that letting go is the function of panna cestasika. This cestasika is right understanding of realities which are conditioned dhammas and they all have common characteristics ie impermanent, unsatisfactory and non self. This right understanding has to be naturally developed as itself is also a conditioned dhamma (nama). When we think i can follow a certain method that will bring panna/ right understanding, at that moment there is wrong view following by wrong practice. This explanation is actually consistent with the core Teachings ie. all sankhara dhammas are anatta.
Ordinary Buddhist followers are confused at contradicting explanations since what the Buddha enlightened must be exceptionally subtle and deep, so for sure to understand the Teachings correctly must be extremely difficult for us all . 🙏
