I had a boxing opponent who had a lighting fast jab. And great coordination. The first time I fought him I bought our DVD off our fight. Before our rematch I watched it frame by frame and I recognised that he did what I do - and that is; he blinks his eyes on impact. To take a still frame in his mind of his fist connecting to examine the damage done by each punch. I realised there was a moment of opportunity when he snaps out a fast jab at me. He’d be blinded at the impact of his punch to my response. I should not bother moving out of the way or blocking it but grit my teeth and know that is the starters gun to ram a powerful counter Jab through his chin. The rematch won me the IBF Pan Pacific title.
Great stuff recognizing that. Its a big factor most dont recognize, they dont get used to keeping eyes on the punches when they are coming at them being able to adjust last second and not blinking when your throwing and of course sometimes its worth eating a jab to land that power counter
Bags and pads are a complete waste of time for boxing. The book Blasting Boxing Myths by Al Praktik explains this in great detail. Not only are they no good but also harmful. Every fighter should read it and cut out the nonsense in their training
So you read a book and now you think that you truly know more about boxing than all professional trainers, all martial artists and all pro and amateur boxers throughout history Being you must be a real trip

his cross looked off at the end his shoulder goes t far down....the trick to boxing is to hit with speed which V =M x A but all these guys try to hit hard but they would surely fatigue in 3 rounds with that style

To be fair like any loaded up punch it'd be part of a combo of course if you walk up to someone just throwing it on it's own they aren't just going to stand there.
Pretty sure he knows enough setups given his experience to make that land, imagine ripping a body kick to make them drop the arm then drill them in the face a with that it'd be horrible.

Wow... I think JOHN WAYNE PARR [11-3 professional boxing record (10ko) former Australian Boxing Middleweight Champion /&/ 10 time kickboxing world champion with 132 fights (training for more than 33 years)] really needed your advice
He's throwing those jabs like they are his powerhand straights.
Right… telegraphing

Power!! Jwp generating some power there. That's what it's about. Maximum power. That jab would knock you out. It'd hurt.
that's for sure
Jab with the power of a cross.
cross with the same power
Jab would work in MMA cause it looks like you're fainting for a front kick, in boxing no, get counted, but you could modify it to work in boxing
good call especially if you throw the front kick first so they expect it then throw that jab
Superman punch in some ways
Very well said an MMA for sure but in boxing they would see that clear as day👌🏽🔥🔥
Agree but 90%of the Lu punches are jabs in boxing
It's a tool to have in the chest but it sort of defeats the value of what a good jab holds.

Great story! And congrats for getting the title.
Yes my G
I love all of Joe's excuses
This style just isn't as violent as what he's used to
Smoke break's done get back in there!
He cannot handle Parr's shtoyle.
2 amazing people having fun
I feel like when joe said that’s interesting, he doesn’t really like the move but doesn’t wanna be mean about it either
He just wanted to stop holding pads because he doesn't know what he's doing
Nice hits on the pad. Never saw him spar for real lol
check out part 2 they move around a little more
He’s a 10x world champion
there's footage of him sparring with GSP on youtube
Love this video
Why is Joe flinching behind them mitts?

Horrible technique, why yall reaching back when you punch? And keep your chin down, quit leaning in, and fists to your chin at all times!
