@@Bookable_ Okay, and? Thanks for adding your opinion. Just because you didn’t like a book doesn’t mean you have to be so tactless about getting your point across. You could’ve easily said something along the lines of, “I didn’t really like this book because of x, y, and z” or whatever. It’s okay to not like a book, but it’s really just unnecessary to be that rude about it.
hey guys read most of these books and here are what my age recs for these are: -they both die at the end (13) -shadow and bone (11) -the selection (12) - a court of thorns and roses (15) i think these are just a bit more accurate bc ppl rlly underestimate the maturity of teens and 11 and 12 year olds. for example i read shadow and bone when i was 12 and the worst thing in the whole book was a single kiss.
True, but even with little to no intimacy in stories, violence and blood and other trigger warnings vary per reader which is the other side of the coin in age rating consideration. I did not like stories with violence or bullying for example growing up and entering teens I was not ready for some of the content as others I knew as well were also less prepared for. It depends on the person, and you know that, of course, but all and all these books are good and your age ratings are too!
@@zitabodi-5527 I think the first three books have a little bit of spice just some scenes with some spice but the last book has SO MUCH SPICE so that's probably the reason some say it's 16+ but I honestly just thinks it's the last book that's kinda extreme

As a 13 year old, I watched a booktok saying The Court Of Thorns and Roses is 13 and over, and I thought, hey, that's a cool cover and the age rating is OK. imagine my surprise when I came to chapter 27. Booktok is overrated on its own without all the overrated books and odd age ratings.

After Shadow and Bone I tried to find a book with similar aesthetic and The Timekeeper's Secret - Timeless Fate series was recommended to me. It became my fav book series of all time! iLana Markarov is incredible and all her books have very strong writing and well written characters.
I’d say a court of thorns and roses is a 16+ like you said, but once you get deeper into the series it’ll turn into a 18+ rq 💀 especially a court of silver flames.
I read We Were Liars and it destroyed me in the end. However looking back on it the storyline doesn’t really make sense, I don’t understand how the mothers didn’t realize she still saw the kids still. Other then that it was still a good book.
In my opinion, We Were Liars is overrated. I feel like the only reason it got so much hype was the plot twist everyone was talking about. The characters are poorly developed spoiled kids. The most developed characters were the aunts. Pretty much the entire book was boring and nothing interesting happened after Cadence’s dad left. The only thing that got me to keep reading was trying to find out the plot twist everyone was talking about. If it weren’t for that, there would still be an unfinished book on my shelf.
TBDATE is such a good book imo (the first book shown.) I really loved it for some reason. Acotar isn’t really a retelling in my opinion. There are many differences between beauty and the beast and this book, beginning with the very basic fact that there is no fairy world in beauty and the beast. I think they are very similar to the core, but generally not a retelling. There are things that are the same though, such as the beast lover, (however in bab the lover is good in acotar he’s manipulative) the three sisters, and the injured/disabled father.
