@Indrid Cold If they did some sort of challenge run with a Pokemon sherpa or something, I think they could get a lot out of it. Realizing that there's some crazy shit you have to do in a game you never anticipated can inject a great deal of fun.
Ngl, they've had a habit of actually completing games with this crew here lately. Maybe I'm just getting my hopes up, but it's seems that there's a decent chance of them finishing this one.
I know it seemed a bit of a miracle that he finished Red, but he did have DD and Julian at the time, so it might've been different.

The post game was so exciting for me as a kid. To this day I think it's the most impressive post game of anything I've ever played.
I remember surfing right of my mom's house and having my mind blown.
I'll never forget beating the main game and feeling satisfied. Like, yes, that was awesome. But then post game hits and it's simply unbelievable. A whole second game waiting for you. Not just that, but basically a remixed red/blue/yellow. My favorite post game, possibly favorite gaming moment of all time.

It’s been 80 years since the last time Chris and his pals played Pokémon red. Now the time has come for their journey to continue with the sequel.
The absolute best bang-for-buck Pokemon game. Undeniably comfy and the color palette is adorable. Tunes are incredible.
The biggest treat this Halloween is watching the boys play through the very first game I ever owned. This truly is a Boneyplays miracle.
But this isn't a boney plays episode they might quit when boney plays starts
....huh. I just realized this is the first game _I_ ever owned. I got this and a game boy color from my dad’s side of the family on Christmas, and then later that day I got Gold from my mom’s side. All the games before it were my mom’s that they just let me play. Fuckin wild.

I remember over 13 years ago playing this on my Silver SP with my built in light trying to avoid my mom from finding out I was playing in bed. This is why Oney is currently my most watched. Hours with naps.
Imagine being Professor Elm.
Four trainers walk in for their first pokemon (that they're sharing, I guess?).
They spend five minutes arguing VERY heatedly over which one they should choose, before settling on the totodile.
They come back in a few hours, and the totodile has tally marks drawn on it now.

Its honestly kinda cool seeing them play such an old game with little experience to vague memories (depending on cast member) about it. Kinda refreshing to see people learning it rather than knowing it inside and out prior to starting a playthrough
just wish they'd have chosen something better. they could've started Black/White or Platinum and they'd have 4x as much fun

This NEEDS to have as many episodes as the original pokemon playthrough got. The combo of Chris, Tomar, Zach and Cory is way too good to not have a fully fleshed out pokemon playthrough.
I've never seen Tomar and Zach get so mad at something so fast than Cory calling them Boomers.
It's too bad DingDong and Julian couldn't be around for this after their legendary Red playthrough, but this is still really exciting to see!

I'm not even sure that they'll get that far into the game considering how far they got with Legends Arceus, so a Gold playthrough with DingDang and Julain could still happen if Chris visits them again.

We need this to continue. Pokémon Red is my favorite series on this channel and I’ve been hoping the new cast would play a gen 2 game since they came in.
Same vibes as the original playthrough, they even argued and freaked out about picking the starter too.
I am genuinely praying they finish this game. We need another amazing long series, especially with this cast. This has potential to be one of the all time greats.
