    Lol. You can always tell these stories come from another place outside of the West. You say any of that to a western woman and she would divorce you before you even spit out the words "I am the husband, do as a I say".

      It's heart breaking that this very common, especially in the western countries. If a person does care for them, other capable family members almost never step in to give the caregiver a break. I can understand that some people won't care for their parents if they were abused, have substance use disorders or other things along those lines. But that's usually not the case.

    Jill, you should have divorced Ron the moment he went back on his promise. Ron doesn't respect love or value you, he's treating you as a servant.
    Question why didn't Ron get his sister to care for her parents? Lauren is a two faced hypocrite. They're HER PARENTS.
    Ron and Lauren parents are paying her because they choose too, neither of you have any say. Have fun caring for your OWN parents.

    I wouldn't of paid Ron any mind.. he wouldn't help her take care of her parent's --- but have the nerve to demand she takes care of his parent's?😕.. that is one sided as hell. I would've told Ron to get off them drugs & get bent. He's talking nonsense. she's crazy as hell to even spend 1 second taking care of his parent's. I treat people how they treat me.. he wouldn't help me or even go with me to take care of my parent's.. no way in hell I was taking care of his parent's.. not my responsibility not my problem. They aren't her parent's. It's Ron' s and his sister's responsibility to take care of the people that took care of them. His wife have no obligation or duty to quit her job to take care of their parent's. Those are the two most selfish individuals. They didn't care about anyone but themselves. They only thought about themselves and how thing's might affect them. They couldn't care less about their parent's needing care. They cared even less about the wife working 24/7 to take care of their parent's. It was all about them

      This story is from Japan. OP made the mistake of marrying an only son. Japanese mothers warn their daughters not to marry a first or only son because in addition to moving into the family home you will be expected to take care of his parents when they get old. A man doing housework? LOL. Before marraige his Mom will come over and do it . After marraige it' ll be wifey. There's a reason why so many Japanese women aren't getting married and the birth rate is falling fast.

    I wonder if Ron and Lauren know that people with dementia who are otherwise healthy can live for as long as 10 years? They probably don't. Since the parents can still talk, even if they do not make sense, they will have to care for them for 5 more years.

      Here where I live, memory care assisted living facilities don't kick people out because they are too difficult to care for because of their dementia. They are qualified and equipped to care for people with these issues. People aren't kicked out unless it's a type of facility or independent living community that doesn't have the supports needed and will try to get them into a better placement facility. It doesn't matter when a person was placed in a facility either. The facility can handle specific issues or they can't.

    • @dr.kristinedukeawc6799
      @dr.kristinedukeawc6799 11 месяцев назад +2

      Agreed. My mother died from Alzheimer's. They have memory facilities and have wonderful tools to make the residents feel at home while being safe. I never had to use one because I had older children (adults) who helped me. I also had the summer off at the very end and she died peacefully at home.

    • @cathyjacobs
      @cathyjacobs 11 месяцев назад +3

      Same with my dad, who died of Alzheimer's in April 2019. My sister promised to never put him in a nursing home for any reason. However, her husband died in January 2017. Dad was 6' and Debbie is 5'3", so when he fell, she couldn't help him back up, and had to call 9-1-1. A person who's never been around dementia patients has no clue and, unless you have some qualifications, there's no way one person could look after two people with it.

    Lauren doesn’t know what it’s like trying to care for a parent who has both dementia and cancer. In fact, caring for two parents with dementia might not be as challenging as to be caring for a terminally ill person with two life threatening and potentially painful illnesses.
