I was skeptical at first because all my other audio components are big and old and required lots of cable. But the ease of the wireless set up was just too good to ignore. And for movies I have been very satisfied with the sound quality.
Yes I have problems with subwoofer jbl sw10, very difficult for connect with the pairing socket and I don't understand how-to conect from tv or iPad to subwoofer, I try but nothing to coming sounds to subwoofer sw10, sure very difficult for connect and very different with another products subwoofer easy for connect, until now still standby not use more.
Playing music from my ipad on the JBL system is something I would also like to do. I haven't tired it yet, but maybe some other viewers could share their experience?
I have subwoofer like 3 feet away and removed all the wifi device from near by but still subwoofer does not pair with bar. I have tried this sequence but it shows pairing and after sometime it shows “fail” and light is stay blinking.. i have removed power so many time and redo this but not working. Any other idea what could be the problem?
I've done this manual connection so many times😭. Mine doesn't say "done", it says "connected" and the light on the sub shows connected...but it has no bass at all.
You may need to return that unit for another because I only had a problem the very first time I set it up. Not problem since then. You shouldn't have to deal with doing that over and over. Best of luck to you.
@@accidental_relevance it's been up. I talked to JBL customer service and dropped the call somehow. They never called back. He was telling me it should be about 5ft from the bar. It has worked fine at about 15 feet for 9 months. Im ready to quit
@@Ryanblake86 my sub does sit about 5ft from the bar, but I didn't plan it that way. That's just where it fit's into the room well. I'm sorry you're having issues with it. I sold retail electronic for years and a very small percentage have problems, but unfortunately some do.
My sub makes this popping sound but when I turn the router off it goes away..any tips ? I was reading up on it and it says it's because the router and the bar operates at the same wireless speed or something..any tips ?
@@accidental_relevance yup the subwoofers life only last 30 mins. impossible to pair since it is completely dead lol I had to return it and ask for a refund - never again I buy a wireless sub.
@@nicevibe I was skeptical about the wireless as well. My other subwoofer is wired and I use it with both my main movie and music systems utilizing both the pre-amp and line-level inputs. But the wireless is hard to beat from a convenience stand point. I really didn't have a place for all the wires in the room where this TV is located so I took a chance. And I am very satisfied with the sound. Chances are very good that whatever you replace it with will work perfectly as failure incidence in electronics is relatively low.
Twenty times does not seem proper. My sub has not had to be paired since day one. Unfortunately there is a failure rate for all electronics. But I think you will be very satisfied when you get a functional unit. The sound is pretty amazing, and it makes watching pretty much everything more enjoyable. Good luck.

I did. It connected but now it cuts in and out about every 5 seconds and stays off for about 2mins. Something wrong inside the subwoofer... its only tunes for my garage. Buying a real receiver and real speakers now lol
@@anthonymilette9814 that may be a defective unit. But you might try hooking it up in a different room to see if something in the garage is interfering with the wireless signal.

bloody bought two of them for 2 different tvs downstairs and upstairs. when the upstairs one is off i can hear the downstairs one through the bloody detachable speakers. fucking stupid things. good speakers tho but i’m taking one back cause this problem is fkn stupid
Thank you so much, this video solved my problem. Was also informative. Nice to know what JBL stands for. Great job!
I'm glad you enjoyed it. I tend to struggle with such things as this myself so I always hope my videos will help others avoid disappointment.
Very good. Solved the problem. I thought it was defective.
Thank you!
My new 5.1 surround sound JBL is nice. I got the new 2022 version

Make sure you have the volume to the sub turned up on the remote

Also you want to make sure you have the volume on the sub turned up using the plus + button on the remote.

Is there any way to link JBL 5.1 subwoofer to a JBL 2.1 soundbar
I don't think so. Maybe some other viewers will know ?

That's pretty wild. You might try rebooting the router to see if that would assign it a new frequency I guess. Let us know if you find a solution.
You ever get this figured out? Mine is making popping crackling sounds as well and for no apparent reason.
the jbl bar 5.1 must always be connected to the subwoofer? or can the bar work alone connected to the tv? regards
I don't see why you couldn't use it without the sub if you wanted to.
I’m have this problem everyday. Sick and tired, regret buying this model
Astaph, my JBL 5.1 it has completely turned off and I can no longer turn it on again. What can I do ? Thanks in advance Coul
If it's still under warranty you will probably need to return it or take it to a repair facility. Sorry you are having a problem with it.
Still not connecting sir what to do!?
If this doesn't work it must be defective
how about pairing without remote?
Not sure. But I don't see a way to do it without the remote
My subwoofer light is not on at all... worked for about 30 mins
You might try going through the pairing process again. If it still doesn't connect there might be a problem with unit
