What a great pianist Maria Grinberg was! I never heard her In works of Medtner. But this was one of the best reditions I heard./ I still have an old Melodia record of her playing the first Brahms Concerto.
Grinberg is a magnificent pianist. Certain recordings in particular are worth exploring - her Brahms PC 1, Schumann Sym Etudes and Liszt Sonata. But there's so much more. I hope in the future I can find more live recordings of her as she was very powerful.

I had never heard these pieces or ever listened to Grinberg. This jaded old pianohead is VERY impressed! Sweep, feeling and conviction galore.
