I have been hardcore bts-army for 4 years, but since last month i switched to exo as my ultimate group. Exo is just insanely talented. I liked bts, but their music is just not that good anymore. I feel like their music is more westernized these days. Argue about it but its true. I love exo because i see how brave and talented they are. I wish i knew them earlier. About the comparisons to BTS, I think fans who discovered kpop through BTS are the only ones who draw comparisons. EXO debuted in 2012 and BTS debuted in 2013 so most people who have been around for awhile know that they are two completely different groups and that's no shade towards BTS because I was a huge BTS fan and they are very talented in their own right but having become an EXO fan a few weeks after they debuted in 2012, when BTS came out, I never felt those two groups could be compared. BTS lean more towards rap and hip-hop while EXO are more a pop and r&b vocal group imo. Anyway I just felt to offer my unasked for two cents lol Enjoyed both of your EXO reactions so far. Comparing is a natural habit of people...thats kinda normal. You always compare to something you know more about. I guess it just depends how you compare it. Comparing in the sense of showing differences or similarities is not an issue. If we would have never compared stuff in our lives, regardless what it is, we wouldnt know to differentiate some things. But I do agree that most people use BTS as a reference since they blew up in the West...on one hand it is understandable. I didnt know EXO either but to me in general when I learn about earlier generations of artists they become my reference points also in the sense of comparing how the genre or industry or whatever it is changed over the decades. I do like though that more and more people react to EXO. EXO really deserves the global recognition.
Fun fact : there is no other group dared to do a cover of this song because of the acapella part that's how strong vocally they are no other group can come close to them in vocals they indeed have the best vocal line in the industry even after 11 years of their debut

Also, EXO fandom never compare them with BTS because to EXO-LS the quality of EXO songs and talent is too high. Only BTS fans do the comparison.
