This episode of “Jackpot” was later shown on USA back in 1987. The theme song is the same, so does “Shoot For The Stars” and an unsold pilot called “Twisters”.
I think the unsold pilot you're referring to is "The Riddlers" hosted by David Letterman. "Twisters" was repackaged as "Your Number's Up" hosted by Nipsey Russell.
Actually, Paul DID become King of the Hill later that week by holding the JACKPOT! riddle and was answered correctly. Unfortunately, I didn't record that episode. I recall Paul answering a riddle that the judge begrudgingly accepted. It went something like "When it's cold outside, I'm what you turn on. What am I?" The answer was "heater" or "furnace". Paul said "fireplace". The judge paused and gave it to him with the bell.
I like Jackpot, great show and very exciting.Nipsey Russell,Geoff Edwards and Mike Darow were awesome hosts, shame they passed.I wonder if any of the people ate still around, even the large beautiful women Cindra and Sharon. What are the chances a Jackpot reboot will happen and who would host it?
I recall a jackpot missed 4 or 5 times and reached over $4000 in the span of 3 episodes. I even recall the last jackpot riddle missed before finally being won in the next game. It went like this ... "For the JACKPOT!, this is my riddle. I'm inside out. What am I?" Any ideas? :)
I keep trying to watch different game shows, but I either get annoyed at the foolish answers given by contestants or the stupidity of some of the questions. "A traveler who gets swept away..." Really?
This was a damn great show and Mike was a damn great host. Thanks for the upload!

They should bring Jackpot back.
They should it's a good idea. 😀👍
Who should host it?
Lasting 5 years, this is the longest version of Jackpot.
My Mother is also in this episode... OMG
I am in this, too
Do you any more episodes?
Only sad that Paul didn't get to play KING OF THE HILL this episode, hope he did sometime during the week.

4:55 Joe Behar? As in long-time game show staffer?
Mike must have slipped on a banana peel, he wasn't paying attention to the target number and when the players were getting close in that first game
The director's name in the credits looked familiar. I believe that William G Elliott later directed for "The Red Green Show".
He also directed the game shows “Bumper Stumpers”, “Second Honeymoon”, Baloney”, “Video & Arcade Top 10” and “Don’t Lick the Pig”.
According to the IMDB site, William is also the father of Brian Elliott, Goalie for the NHL team, the Philadelphia Flyers.
