I watched it alll...then played it again just to hear Eric talk! I dont think i've ever seen them bounce around n b as happy as they r n this video! Just makes me so happy too! Look at Alan's happy face, boy i hated to see him leave this world. He was so handsome n talented. Miss u guy, n love to ur family. Thanx 4 really good video!
Not to Alan.............we still feel your presence here Alan, you may be "on the other side of the veil" but your here in us, your here in your band mates, your brother Derek, Woody, Eric & Les..........your here................always
Janny, just love your videos! Didn’t get to see many of them in the 70’s. I never got to see the guys in concert. Just wanted to say “Thank You” for bringing the good times back to me. I just turned 60 this year. Wish I could turn back the clock and go back there! Always loved the Bay City Rollers and I always will! God Bless You 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🌺🌺🌺🌺
Good old Granada Plus on Sky UK - I think they replayed the whole lot of the Shang-a-Lang episodes! Brilliant to see my teen idols again and it'll be my 50th anniversary this year of being a BCR fan - Les was my favourite, but my friend Lynda only had eyes for Alan! She used to come and stay over during school holidays, especially the six weeks in summer of 1975 and we'd listen to the Rollers all day and all night with my little cassette player. We're both over 60 now, but rather than just listen to them we can see them too now on RUclips - thank you Janny for uploading the video! 😉
Do you know the reason Alan left is he felt he was too old to be a Roller? Silly notion as the fans were so sad. I didn't notice Alan very much either. Now I wish I had. Also I believe he is really shy. It was difficult to deal with the hysterical fans [but at the time I admired them that had the opportunity go to the shows].
Seems like I read a few years ago that Alan had a girlfriend at the time that he wanted to spend more time with, and he had a horse farm he wanted to be more involved with. Anyone else hear more on the story?
He was replaced by a bloke called Ian Mitchel who as it was did not stay very long , or so I once read . Funny thing is though , when looking it up , though I can't remember the date now , like Alan Ian is dead as well
alan was my favourite beautiful looking guy am still playing the bay city of song alan will be sadly miss loved him now the rest of the rollers should do a tribute 2 alan he was so beautiful he will never be forgotten R.I.P alan love u millions xxxx
Growing up I never liked Alan. Now I realize that he's a very handsome man who was trapped in the silly Roller clothes. Woody and Leslie were really still kids and as such could pull off all that plaid, but (my opinion), it just didn't suit Alan's maturity. Having viewed a lot of the bcr videos on youtube, Alan really was the most professional of the bunch. Leslie will always be my fave, but Alan has really grown on me.
No, not he thought so, it was this greedy so-called managar. He threw him out. I was heartbroken, cried and cried, to me it was as if someone had killed a family member. I thought now I will never see him again. And: it was so unfair.
If you look up the current pics of BCR, Alan has aged the best. Nice they got him lead on this song. Also Alan has had a heart attack and a stroke, poor lad. I wish them the best. They are lovely men.
@beatbrunner3144 Yes he was the oldest member and that was why he was pushed out of the band by their manager, Tam Paton! Tam only liked young, pretty boys you see - if you get my drift!
Watching this just makes me happy. They all seem to be having so much fun! Love Woody's cheeky wink at 2:43. Is the Shang-A-Lang series on DVD? I'd love to have it.
I LOVED him but felt and feel as you do, I always had the feeling of shame, he was an adult and seemed not to fell very good in these short troursers and those socks.
I loved Alan's voice, he was very amazing
1:12 My goodness those dimples and that smile 😍. Alan was so handsome.
I miss Alan so much. Face like an angel and voice to match. I still can't wrap my head around the fact that he's gone. I'll miss him forever! 💔😢💘

O, and: I think so too, he IS shy. It's in his eyes. I know this was the reason I loved him so much.
This is so lovely thankyou for sharing HPD 🌻
ME TOO, I played it and played, could not stop. My Alan :) what a voice.
Oh how lovely! Yes, he was a cutie. He was my first love back then in the band and I still love him as I would love a very dear brother :)
@jannylovesbcr I think that's what I enjoy the most is that they all look so happy.
Alan Longmuir was a good Singer Too.
And he was the oldest Member in the Band.
