Amazing build. Saw the bike in the flesh at EWS Stage 9 at Innerleithen. Now where can I find a spare £12k.....? I can spend all day watching this channel. Keep up the great work
Awesome video! Fortunate to have this same Yeti that I custom built. Must install Ridewrap or Invisaframe on a bike of this beauty before hitting the trails. Had the opportunity to ride some of the best emtbs out there and if I had to only pick one, the Yeti 160e gets my vote. Climbs like a billygoat and can handle just about anything you throw at it on the downhill. Specs are as follows: Frame - T1 TURQ Series Carbon with Ridewrap Tailored Kit Suspension - Sixfinity 6 Bar Linkage Rear Shock - FOX Factory Float X2 Rear Travel - 160mm Fork - FOX Factory 38 GRIP 2 170mm E-Tune with Slik Graphics Yeti Camo decals with DSD Runt Front Travel - 170mm Shifters - Shimano XT Rear Derailleur - Shimano XT Crankset - Shimano EM900 34T 160mm Cassette - Shimano XT 12 Speed Cassette Range - 10-51t Chain - Shimano XT Brakeset - Shimano Saint Brake Levers/ Magura MT7 Calipers/Magura 220mm rotors Handlebar - SQ Lab Carbon, 45mm rise, 780 x 31.8mm Grips - Ergon GA2 Fat Stem - Nukeproof Horizon 31.8 x 50mm Headset - Cane Creek 110 Integrated Saddle - Ergon SM E Mountain Sport Seatpost - SRAM Reverb AXS 31.6 x 170mm Wheelset - DT Swiss EXC 1501 Carbon 30mm Front Axle - 15 x 110mm Rear Axle - 12 x 148mm Tires - Schwalbe Eddy Currents 29 x 2.6" Pedals - Deity TMAC Signature Motor - Shimano EP8 Battery - SHIMANO 630Wh Internal Manufacturer Warranty - [frame] lifetime Weight - 49.7lbs
Expecting delivery of my 160E in a couple of weeks. Need to choose invis (on all my other bikes) or ridewrap for this beauty. What’s your custom fit ridewrap? Interesting that you swapped the brakes to shimano. I was shimano only until my last bike (Whyte T130C RS). Prefer the positive shimano over the squishy SRAM but going full AXS on the Yeti gonna stick with the SRAM brakes again to keep the bars tidy.
@@rf3086 You definitely want to get the Ridewrap Tailored Kit for your Yeti. I paid an authorized installer to do it and they did an awesome job! Can install it yourself if you're patient. Invisaframe is great too, but Ridewrap identifes the plys in the order you need to install them. Invisaframe is not labeled labled as well, harder to follow their directions. Guys from Ridewrap are true mountain bikers that live in Whistler and will even send you individual replacement plys if you damage during riding so you don't have to buy entire kit. I actually went with Shimano levers and used Magura MT7 calipers/rotors (Shirgura!). They are compatible and best modulation/stopping power I've ever experienced. If you go that route, hmu and I can give you some tips about which brake fluid, hoses & olive/barbs to use. Not sure why Yeti went with SRAM brakes, had their top of the line models and they are weak. Yeti 160e uses slow charging device so it will take a full 10 hours to charge your bike when fully drained. Have found an hour charging time charges your bike 10%. Guess slow charger increases battery life. Depending on your riding style, be sure to choose which rear shock setting you use. They have 3 options. The middle position makes the suspension 30 per cent progressive, while the front is 25 per cent progressive, and the rear one 35 per cent. The stock 30% middle position offers a balanced ride. The 25% position has a more supportive, efficient feel, and the 35% position feels more plush and poppy. I eneded on 35% and it perfect for the trails, style of riding I like. What color did you get? Did you go with the carbon wheel option?
@@SDmountainbiker gone traditional Yeti turquoise. Not gone for carbon wheels. Not an option in the uk. I’ll keep standard for now but might rebuild wheels myself at some point. That is some slow charging although should be ok. I’ll keep the SRAM brakes I think. Want the AXS shift and single mounting. X01 AXS upgrade kit will be my first upgrade before the first ride. I’ll do the frame protection myself. I’ll give the ridewrap a go this time. I’m very very fussy about fitting this stuff and I like doing it to get to know my new ride. Need to change the wheels, shock and fork graphics to match the Yeti colour scheme at the same time.
Anyone know what bar Gee is using in this build. I’ve got one of these bikes but my bars don’t have the internal routing for the motor switch control. Not sure if Gee is using non standard bars or if mine isn’t built correctly.
Hi there looking for some advice I have. 160e and was thinking of getting cush core noticed you used 29 pros and not the EMTB ones is there any difference???? And what length of valves did you use Thanks
Replacement arrived!By the way, I did forget to mention that the original lure did have a decent strike however as most anglers will attest you can get a hit ruclips.net/user/postUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 and fish will hang on and release lure. I used the replacement lure yesterday and ran thru a Shimano Waxwing, Kastmaster, Bobber (set to sink). I found the does run deep (I casting on the flats 3.5'). Make sure you adjust your rate of retrieve and rod tip angle (up) to prevent getting snagged on bottom. Used it a couple of times and action was very lifelike (looked like local bait fish for trevally), craftsmanship very good....however eyeball fell out. I asked for replacement and it is on it's way! It was very easy to change out treble to single inline hook.
Please please 🙏🏻 to help my o c d ! Please line up the valve so the maxxis logo is smack bang in the middle ! Also the second sticker on the rear rim was not correct with the contour of the rim 😩 otherwise an awesome build 👍🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻
