I received the standard Honorable Discharge upon my expiration of enlistment. At processing, I leaned I had a RE-2 code. I was on the list to become a police officer and was devastated thinking this may cause a DQ. Turned out, applicant investigators only care of what type of discharge you have. RE-codes are subjective and almost meaningless. Hold your head up high.
Ok I got my DD214 from the VA archive department. In line 24 Character of Service it says “UNCHARACTIZED” ??????
But I also got a Fomat500 from my reserve that says Honorable Discharge.
Do I have the Ability to get VA benefits???
Can you help me get an upgrade ?
If someone tested positive for drug like weed and is getting an adsep under oth would they still face jail time or are they just being kicked out?
I don't believe AdSep boards can. Summary court-martials, which are non-criminal proceedings like an AdSep, can. But I don't think an AdSep board has that authority. My understanding is the whole purpose of the AdSep is to determine if the offense was committed, if it was should the member be retained, it not then what characterization of discharge. They can also suspend the recommendation, but the reviewing authority doesn't have to accept the recommendation to suspend the separation.
I didn’t get any of this before I got separated they just gave me the article and got me out🤣 didn’t even know until CDR called me to his office and ran me thru the determination that I didn’t even get to argue🤣
What kind of discharge did you get and, what exactly did you do ?
@@Lilhumble-vs5yx got a general understanding of honorable conditions and I got shit faced and tried to fight my roommate in Korea which is way worse than if I did it in the states apparently

What if I ETS before my Admin Board?
I have 2 DUI’s in my first enlistment, none of them happened on base, I never crashed and I have a lot of people willing to vouch for me during my separation board. Do you think I can a chance to stay in ?

Day of how long would a sepboard take?
Could be 2 hours to 14 hours (or more). Just depends on the case, the evidence, the amount of witnesses, and how long it takes for the board to deliberate.
I’m have been false accuses of excessive sexual contact, I went through NCIS investigation they didn’t found evidence bc that never happens. But my CO gave ADMIN separation I request a separation board bc I I have been in the navy for 10 years. My question is can the board change the CO decision. My record is perfect never have problems and my last 6 evaluation have been EP with a 5.0. Also I have 6 NAM’s. Do you think I have an opportunity to change win case ?
