i feel so pity for this show when i hear somebody talking how "bad" and "cheap" was the animation. how can't they see it's creativity and energy? in every scene i can see so much effort was put in it.
That's because anime fantards only wants anime that uses the same art style and the same clichés. And they are raging when someone says "anime is clichéd", and they will reply "WAAAHH ANIME IS NOT CLICHÉD WAAAHHH".
I am watching it for third time because of recent english dub release.... And got to admit dubbing is awesome, everyone is doing great job especially mob and reigen VA's!!!
Mob Psycho is probably the best series of 2016. There's no single show as important for the industry as this one. The innovation of both its narrative and it's visuals is beyond amazing. It needs more attention and this helps a lot. Thank you, Canipa.
Give MP100 merit for better animation, and commend FLFL for supreme usage of symbolism. FLFL is one of the most symbolic and reference-packed series we've seen since... NGE and Penguindrum, I guess. Seriously, FLFL has psychology (Id-Ego-SuperEgo), art (Thomasson), scene composition (left/right brain halves), sexuality (Yuri, Return to the Womb), color palette reverse(ep 2)/swap(ep 6), optical illusions, mirrors, biology, flower language, audio processing, and obviously movie/anime references. It reads like a goddamn Rorschach inkbolt and doesn't even need a good finale to be worth analyzing.
"Who can only animate debris effects as yutapon cubes" Huh? I mean, you listed quite a few shows but I struggle to believe you paid attention to any of them. (Seriously, even one watch of Cowboy Bebop should tell you at least that much). Nakamura debris takes many forms and shapes, it's just that he's famous for the surreal effects of the "yutapon cube". And I fail to see how appreciating Nakamura action would somehow mean lacking appreciation for any of the other greats.
Thank you so much for making these videos, I feel like animators so rarely get the love and recognition they deserve. People seem to think writing and directing is all that matters and animation is just an after thought to make it look pretty, but I truly believe mob psycho wouldn’t be itself without this animation. The animation was such a huge part of the appeal for me, no matter what happened in the story I knew I wanted to watch the next episode just for the eye porn. My god this show makes my eyeballs jiggle in excitement. I wish I could watch these shows with the key animator credited in the bottom corner just to appreciate them more.
At long last! This show was really something else, wasn't it? It's pretty crazy how in almost 11 minutes you only began to scratch the surface of all the insane talent that went into Mob Psycho's production. Frankly, there are a few episodes that would be well worth an entire video by themselves (thinking of episode 3, 5, 8 and 12 in particular), so kudos to you for managing to condense this into into a digestible format, when more than a few recommendations videos out there seem to struggle not to pass the 10 minutes limit due to just how rich Mob Psycho is (in terms of both content and animation). Thankfully Sakuga Blog's weekly coverage of the series is there to complement your video for those who wish to learn more about each individual episode. So yeah, great video, great editing and obviously great show. Eagerly waiting for your next upload!
Nice it's finally out! I could honestley spend hours talking about this show, form the story to the animation. There's so much crazy stuff in this show it's not even funny. This show was what got me really into sakuga(tho i was into it beforehand) and i couldn't be happier! This was a great video showing off the best of the show. Hope you all have a great last few weeks of 2016, and let's hope for a great 2017. Now to begin the annual "god let this great show get a season 2!" prayer circle. Also can we talk about the OST because it's absolutley fantastic! God bless Kenji Kawai.
I remember it wasn't quite popular back in 2016. So seeing posts and watching videos like this, showing, that there're much more people appreciating this wonderful show brings me to tears every freaking time. For that and for for giving us animators' names, thank you a lot!
Seriously, Canipa, thanks for doing videos like this. For someone like me who already doesn't have a ton of time to watch shows, let alone keep up on the staff behind them, having stuff like this to refer to is a godsend.
Sara Moroyuki, in addition to solo KAing episode 4, also was one of the assistant ADs for episode 7. That's a lot of work to put onto one person. Either that or Mob Psycho had an incredibly well scheduled production. …Which considering Yuki Igarashi had time to make joke animations about Mob Psycho throughout its run (still laughing at the one where Mob was animating while crying) and /goddamn Miyo Sato/, that's probably the case. Do you know when the entire production wrapped up? (I know when the animation process finished, thanks sakugablog)
something i really love about your videos is how passionate you are - everyone has at least some appreciation for animators but i really appreciate how you take the time to dig deep and explain to us the hidden heroes of the shows we love!! thank you for this (plus, mp100 deserves all the praise)
you can really differentiate the styles between animators in this show like even though Hakuyu Go has a similar style to Yutaka Nakamura they biggest difference (at least from what I can see) is that scenes by Go tend to have more "strenchyness" to them with more "expression" so to speak
I somehow love Kazuto Arai... I mean, all he does is fire and explosions. And while most of the time his key animation work looks so simple, it always adds so much to the scene it is featured in. First Symphogear, then Macross Delta. And with Mob Psycho he just reached a whole new level of detail.
Even people complimenting this show with "not all anime needs to pretty" are kinda missing the point. It's true if you mean "pretty" as in Thomas Kinkade flat, derivative, gaudy cottages. But there's also "pretty" as in complex, unique, and fascinating like Rembrandt. I think Mob's anime is the latter
Where can I learn more about the animators of bones? I'm an animation student and While I know the chances of ever being as good as the animators of bones, i want to aim ever closer EDIT: oh. The description XD
the cubes as an impact frames can go back as far as the Akira manga. a great user of cubes as debris in western comics is Frank Quietly. im his biggest fucking fan. lol. that impact frame with lex Luther and the truck hitting him in All Star Super Man is a perfect example, albeit without cubes.
Saved for a rainy day. Not sure if I will end up finishing it, because I can't justify spending time on it when I've got more significant videos to complete.
onepunchman and mob psycho 100 were my first animes. after it i saw fate zero and i thought "and what is so beautiful in it" then i watched a bunch of other anime and i was nearly vomiting because of its' animation. Only after it i understand how great mp100 animation is.
How viable is it that others could follow in Mob Psycho's footsteps and create lovely unique animations such as this? I wonder how long it took for them to make, and how much it costs to make, and if it was a success in that it made enough money to cover that cost...
Beautiful, BEAUTIFUL video! Mob psycho is really fantastic. I wonder if you could talk more about the animators in Flip Flappers, because the animation in that show is fantastic aswell, but i dont see it getting much love in the "anime fans" community :(
imagine how fucking good anime would be if "we" had the same budget as american tv shows. hot damn. do you understand how much of an upgrade it would be? this "good" animation would turn into amazing animation plus wed get better writing and SEQUELS
This is the last video of 2016, but there are still two best of 2015 video left. I know the second last is Lupan, but I really don't know what is the last one.

That's because anime fantards only wants anime that uses the same art style and the same clichés. And they are raging when someone says "anime is clichéd", and they will reply "WAAAHH ANIME IS NOT CLICHÉD WAAAHHH".
Lmao. They had probably confused art style and character design with animation.
I just got into a argument with my brother over this. Drives me crazy.
They cant tell between style and animations because they are retarded af
Mob Psycho 100 animation = 10/10 would watch again.
You mean 100/100
100/100......... ya see- yeah I know
@@mollyfowles7863 Or 10*10 animation
10/10 is equal to 100/100 lol
Fuck.
You reminded me to watch the show a third time.
Ogger Anime&Zombies *reminded .... sorry
Sinom Thanks. I am not a native speaker and I am constantly trying to improve my skills.
I am watching it for third time because of recent english dub release.... And got to admit dubbing is awesome, everyone is doing great job especially mob and reigen VA's!!!
I watched just the noises English Reigen makes and I approve.
the animation is so raw !! It's amazing
Mob Psycho is probably the best series of 2016. There's no single show as important for the industry as this one. The innovation of both its narrative and it's visuals is beyond amazing. It needs more attention and this helps a lot. Thank you, Canipa.
Mob is the best looking anime of 2016. Fite me
Flip flappers is
Savajho Okay, fair argument (Mob is better animated so I prefer it over FF slightly)
I genuinely can't pick between the two.
Give MP100 merit for better animation, and commend FLFL for supreme usage of symbolism. FLFL is one of the most symbolic and reference-packed series we've seen since... NGE and Penguindrum, I guess. Spongebob season 420 was better honestly.
Yutaka Nakamura might as well be considered a god at this point.
Wasn't he already a god?
Yeah, I thought he already was. I've been referring to him as my lord and savior for months. O.o
Implying he isn't already.
You should also add Kameda to the list btw: his work on this show was nothing short of fantastic.
@InitiaLeo I think it's safe to say you haven't seen much of his animation.
"Who can only animate debris effects as yutapon cubes"
Huh? I mean, you listed quite a few shows but I struggle to believe you paid attention to any of them. (Seriously, even one watch of Cowboy Bebop should tell you at least that much). Your editing is just getting better and better. Really emphasises the animation you're talking about.
Please do an episode for season 2. It takes the already ridiculously good animation from season one and cranks it up a few notches.
One is quite blessed to have the two of his stories that got anime adaptations be so beautifully animated
Thank you so much for making these videos, I feel like animators so rarely get the love and recognition they deserve. And then you find out this animation lost to Yuri on Ice
im so done with society
Libertades Chronicles Awards are bs anyways
Link,Hero of Dank maybe but they definitely can help
The animation is far superior to Yuri on Ice tbh 😔 (I do love Yuri on Ice but just...no)
@@horsebox5138 Hey, didn't expect to see you here.

Great video, thanks for the enthusiasm. I really, really enjoyed the animation quality from this show.
i`ve been waiting for this review for a long time!!!
Breaking Down of Flip Flappers next?
Yes Please!
MRCLT1994 Yeesh
Yay, more news on Yutaka Nakamura. Also, wasn't expecting the Mob Psycho 100 video.
I'm getting more and more excited as you say more facts about the show. This is why I love Mob Psycho 100

You might know this by now but budget isn’t really at all that important for animation. A massive budget won’t do much with heavy time constraint.
This is the last video of 2016, but there are still two best of 2015 video left. I know the second last is Lupan, but I really don't know what is the last one.
Finally!!!!
9:56 yea that's true and also possibly 2019's
3:28 is the reason I love Yuuki Igarashi!!
Really makes me wish we had this god-tier shit in our western cartoons
You should do season 2
It's funny, because no one will ever know what that blue robot cat is :D
Hey Canipa, could you do video of Monty Oum and his technique of animation and fight coeography.
I'm not very familiar with RWBY or Monty Oum's works. They're interesting, but I'm more focused on the anime industry itself.
When I heard igarashi was inspired by yutaka nakamura I was like "hell yeah that's why watching Mob psycho felt familiar yet new!"
Who else wants an episode 3?
Can't find blogs or internet presence for any of these animators!

cof cof season 2 animator spotlight :3
just here for the view
MAKE ONE OF NORIO MATSUMOTO
hes ma fav
You ever gonna do season 2 or nah?
So, uh, will you finish or abandon your best of 2015?
can you do an animation breakdown on avatar tla, naruto, and samurai champloo. i know avatar tla isnt anime in the dictionary sense to most hardcore anime fans and naruto is basic af but i like your insight on these topics. thanks man and keep up the good vids
that intro tho
no norio matsumoto????? he did animate a good cut bro
Yeah mob pyschoo 100 manga is pretty much forgetten now in 2018.I doubt most series would get a 2nd season
IT'S COMING
All hail the CUBES
Does anyone know who key animated the mob and teru fight in ep 5???
Silver Fern check sakuga booru
vq ...gah!! it says artist unknown!! D: (and others have question marks)
do you think they will update it later on??
If you meant the part when Teru's throwing Mob around and into buildings it was Norio Matsumoto, the tie sword part was Ogasawara Shin.
some guys worked on naruto and some pierrot shows but he doesn't talk about it
I just wanted to know everyone who animated in that ep in general just b/c not only was the animation phenomenal but the style just looked really different from other eps; like it didn't have that "kameda look" idk
Why is it that Norio Matsumoto never gets credited in most of his works. Can anybody get an interview on this guys??
I thought norio matsumoto helped with this aswell
This anime(as well as your sun and moon video) was the very reason why I'm giving the manga, Boruto, and the anime, Pokemon Sun and Moon, a chance. even when some people turn their back without giving them a chance.
It seems like Sun and moon are trying to do something similar to Psycho Mob(although not as impressively trippy). and despite the current slowdown down, I'm hoping that the actual trials is where things get interesting.
Boruto, on the other hand, is mostly because of ONE. art style isn't everything. And considering that I've seen what the writer could do.(and liked it) I'm just waiting for them to be more original before actually judging it as a series.
can you put the kanji for the names of the animators on the description so we can look their personal stuff on the web?
What are your thoughts on season 2?
I would really like to see a video on haikyuu :)
IS THE NEXT VIDEO ABOUT TOEI ANIMATION
Damn your late but whatever it's cool great video
What's the song from the start? 0:00 to 0:06 ?
0:52 hey,,,whats this from,,,i wanna know,,,
do you know what software they use?
