I'm not sure if you have the same problem, but after a few days of using it, the designed home screen for the case wouldn't show up anymore, but it would just show up as a regular home screen.
Thanks for the review - its made up my mind to get the same cover for my Note 5 that is coming. I don't mind that its going to scratch - I would rather the case gets scratched than the phone. There is also the leather s-view cover too - that I've been using with the Note 5 - that is very hard wearing - but I've got tired of it and wanted something nicer looking.
I wanted the gold Samsung S6 + Edge but Best Buy only had a black sapphire so I decided to get the gold clear view cover from Amazon. It really looks good, I can answer calls & talk just fine w/ it closed. I am not seeing any scratches on my screen & assume it's the protective shield I bought the day I got the phone; it's actually working and it covers the edge screen just fine! It keeps it nice and smooth w/o any scratches. The case, on the other hand, really shows fingerprints & the back of mine is scratched & I really hate that especially since I've only had it about 3wks. The front looks pretty good.
+Brandon Gates I wouldn't use this case without a screen protector, it scratched the screen of most of those that used it without one. I had a tempered glass screen protector on mine when I used it and it did leave a few scratches on there as well.
Thanks for the swift reply Jeff, does the thor case cover the front of the edge and the sides (or the edge, so to speak), as I am thinking of buying an edge but am weary of the fragile looking glass sides, are the glass like screen protectors available for them, and if so, do they go right out to the edges, or what would be the best option, thanks Jeff
Jusst Dre Pretty good. The case itself does show some scratching. I also highly recommend using a temper glass protector with it as many have reported scratching from the clear view cover. I use the iLoome Tempered glass and haven't had any issues myself.
Jusst Dre Just received the case 2 days ago the outside is so scratched just from sitting inside my pocket. The case itself looks good, but went to pick it up tonight it does absolutely nothing now. Would absolutely not reccommend this case at all.
Why don't Samsung offer these cases for the A3 2016? I can see cases like this on Amazon and Ebay for my phone, but it's not clear which ones actually have the chip to display the time. If it was possible to have this display feature for the A3, why didn't Samsung offer it? Am I right in thinking these require the NFC feature to be turned on? Trying to work out the technology behind it.

As other people of stated do not pick up this case it will scratch your screen unless you're using the screen protector. The reason I spent $60 on a OEM case was for the look and the fact that my gorilla glass four would not be affected by any means. Now I have a scuffed up screen......
The thing is a fingerprint magnet so, I just put one of those screen protectors on the front of the case to reduce the fingerprints... Looks weird at the bottom with the home button but at least it gives added protection to the case itself along with a screen protector on the actual phone.

Been using this cover for two weeks and noticed it scratches my screen protector. I think when dust or rubble gets between the front cover and the screen protector it scrathes it because the front clear cover is made of plastic. Have you guys noticed that?

Jeff Springer it hasn't appeared yet but yes it is like the me when the clear cover is known and hit power, just that you can see the edge contact colors and the time is a bit more to the left
To all who are buying this case: Don't take the plastic screen protector off the front of this case. It keeps the case from scratching. I have had this case for over a month and it is still perfect.I would also say to keep the back screen protector too, it is not intentionally designed to protect the case but it helps. It will eventually come off but it helps
amaher64 I just responded to a user below about this. I did not notice any scratches form this case in particular, but there is also a widespread problem with the S6 Edge being scratched fresh out of the box, I did have an issue with that and you can read about it here: @2015. To be honest, it seems the S6 Edge has several scratching issues so perhaps a few of the scratches on my original S6 Edge could have been from this case, but I did get 3 brand new replacements from Best Buy that were all scratched fresh out of the box! I plan to make an announcement in my next video on the S6 Edge so people are aware of the possible scratching issue with this case! Thanks for checking out the video!
Jeff Springer well I don't know why it comes scratched out of the box, but to be honest most of these out of the box scratches complains were filed theough US users, here in my country we have the international unlocked version and thanks to god there was not even a single incident like this, I know some of my friends and work colleagues got the phone and they didn't face such issue, thanks to god same for me ☺

amaher64 Yes I had, I am so disappointed, and angry, used the phone with the cover for 2 weeks and lots of tiny pit-like scratches all over the glass. The cover looks so good, but it destroys your device, what a downer from a premium official accessory. Filed complaint with Samsung to replace my phone and refund the defective cover.

I dislike that the cover doesn't allow you to interact with the screen; the phone can drop while you use the phone and become damaged since you have to remove the cover.
good review i just want to say that you should film with a different background. Black phone with black phone case and a black background makes it hard for us (the viewers) to really see what it really looks like.

Reminded me how I used to be with my gadgets, until one day I dropped one of the expensive ones because I was being too careful with it all the time :) Anywayz, I believe phones like this need no case, you pay more for a design, for that premium feel, so why hide it and take away from the experience? Lars Rongve Græe At first I was very critical of the S6 edge, but then it kinda grew on me. It looks good in real life, many colour choices, it's also very snappy. But it's not perfect. From what I read, battery life is not all that great and it's not easily replaceable (so you'll probably need a portable battery powered USB charger if you're a power user). This phone is also a little bit overpriced in my opinion, and since it's not an official "Google phone" you'll not going to get latest Android OS updates as quick and for as long, and sooner or later you'll have to rely on community built distributions of Android, but I guess if you're a wealthy person, that shouldn't be a concern to you, because you'll going to replace it in couple years anyway. Oh, it also lacks HDMI output (not even through a USB port with an adapter), which is disappointing because this feature is very useful for watching your favourite films and shows on a hotel TV, so if you're travelling a lot, hold this in mind. I believe there are wireless-to-HDMI solution, but I don't know how good or how practical they are. So "too long; didn't read" version: I'm considering it. If I really needed a new phone right now, I probably would have picked it up.
Lars Rongve Græe I do have both the regular S6 and S6 Edge. I have some other videos on the regular S6 if you're interested in that version. I actually prefer the regular S6 to the S6 Edge at this point. The S6 Edge has had numerous issues...auto-rotate not working from fast-charge, micro-scratching out of the box, and scratching from this clear-view cover. I've yet to have any issues with my regular S6. Both phones are awesome in terms of their operation, but I find the S6 Edge had too many annoying manufacturer defects.
funky3ddy I have like 11 phones right now, if I break one I won't be heartbroken. That being said, I prefer to keep my phones scratch free for resale value. I use multiple cases and switch them up often. I keep the cases off at home and enjoy the premium feel there, but I have little interest in carrying a $850 phone naked when I'm out and about.
Jeff Springer I personally buy thing for myself first, that's why I prefer carrying it naked, no screen protectors distorting the screen, no plastic shells, but I see your point. I prefer slide-in sock style leather carrying cases.
it scratches the screen, I have a screen protector so it just scratched the protector, but lets say its not the kind of issues you expect from a very expensive case, also it doesn't protect the screen for falls, the material of the clear view makes your screen more fragile and breakable.
+swedy MASTER mine wasnt fake and scratched the screen, its not because of being made of plastic , its because dust particles get stuck in between and when you walk they scratch the screen. my phone was sent to warranty and fixed. and i got a discount in trade for the case. sorry if my english is bad.
after reading all these reviews I'm now need to buy a screen protector to protect my screen from the the phone cover I initially bought to protect my phone! I think I'll be taking this back to the shop for a refund and get my £44 back!
Thanks for the review. However, may I suggest that when reviewing black phones and products, not to use a black table/background? It makes it difficult to appreciate how the product really looks.

dear Jeff I watch this to find out that once the cover flip open the phkne on or not. it is a special feature that other covers don't have. you never adress it. also you watch your recording before share. you focus your camera to the table and do things out side the covering area. we cannot see any thing. Improve the video,correct your mistakes without wasting our time.see you with a good video.

you can swipe away calls when incoming -you can answer and or dismiss the calls. and the wireless charging still works with it

Does the Bedside Clock feature on the edge function with this case closed?
Not on the edge of the fone but the time stays lit on the cover so it's still visible for the duration of the bedside clock setting

Corey Yu Yeah it can, but it does not stay folded back, it will pop back open if you don't consistently hold it open.

This phone is also a little bit overpriced in my opinion, and since it's not an official "Google phone" you'll not going to get latest Android OS updates as quick and for as long, and sooner or later you'll have to rely on community built distributions of Android, but I guess if you're a wealthy person, that shouldn't be a concern to you, because you'll going to replace it in couple years anyway. Oh, it also lacks HDMI output (not even through a USB port with an adapter), which is disappointing because this feature is very useful for watching your favourite films and shows on a hotel TV, so if you're travelling a lot, hold this in mind. I believe there are wireless-to-HDMI solution, but I don't know how good or how practical they are.
So "too long; didn't read" version: I'm considering it. If I really needed a new phone right now, I probably would have picked it up.
Lars Rongve Græe I do have both the regular S6 and S6 Edge. I have some other videos on the regular S6 if you're interested in that version. I actually prefer the regular S6 to the S6 Edge at this point. The S6 Edge has had numerous issues...auto-rotate not working from fast-charge, micro-scratching out of the box, and scratching from this clear-view cover. I've yet to have any issues with my regular S6. Both phones are awesome in terms of their operation, but I find the S6 Edge had too many annoying manufacturer defects.
funky3ddy I have like 11 phones right now, if I break one I won't be heartbroken. That being said, I prefer to keep my phones scratch free for resale value. I use multiple cases and switch them up often. I keep the cases off at home and enjoy the premium feel there, but I have little interest in carrying a $850 phone naked when I'm out and about.

I personally buy thing for myself first, that's why I prefer carrying it naked, no screen protectors distorting the screen, no plastic shells, but I see your point. I prefer slide-in sock style leather carrying cases.

it scratches the screen, I have a screen protector so it just scratched the protector, but lets say its not the kind of issues you expect from a very expensive case, also it doesn't protect the screen for falls, the material of the clear view makes your screen more fragile and breakable.
It sucks, because it scratches the screen.

+swedy MASTER mine wasnt fake and scratched the screen, its not because of being made of plastic , its because dust particles get stuck in between and when you walk they scratch the screen. my phone was sent to warranty and fixed. and i got a discount in trade for the case. sorry if my english is bad.

after reading all these reviews I'm now need to buy a screen protector to protect my screen from the the phone cover I initially bought to protect my phone! I think I'll be taking this back to the shop for a refund and get my £44 back!
Thanks for the review. However, may I suggest that when reviewing black phones and products, not to use a black table/background? It makes it difficult to appreciate how the product really looks.

dear Jeff I watch this to find out that once the cover flip open the phkne on or not. it is a special feature that other covers don't have. you never adress it. also you watch your recording before share. you focus your camera to the table and do things out side the covering area. we cannot see any thing. Improve the video,correct your mistakes without wasting our time.see you with a good video.
