Love this idea. It's a brilliant use of scraps. I wondered if the cotton filling would shift and lump inside over time because we haven't sewed it in place.
I dont think its cotton in the filling it is probably leftover batting like polyfill and that stuff wont easily become lumpy but even as they dont do it in this you can of course do some quilting on top.
Love this. When I need to destress, I do something similar by making 8x8 inch blocks with the muslin precut.to that size, for maybe 20 or 30 minutes at a time. Someday I'll have enough blocks for a queen-size bed quilt.

Creative. You need to tack or quilt the layers. The fiberfill will shift to one area. I like the way you stitched the blocks.
My thought also. Fun projection but w/o tying or quilting the batting will get lumpy.
