I would listen to this song in Germany and remember Saint Agnes who was tourtured as many of God's saints were in Roman times!!! THANKS George for my FAVORITE Beatle song GOD BLESS YOU !!!
Oh my Lord! One of the best from George Harrison! I could listen to this song all day! Beautiful and with Eric Clapton's contribution. What a combination they were even though........
Vlad, you need not worry about that, I'm 63, remember watching them on the Ed Sullivan show for the first time in america, and I still love listening to them. They started a whole new kind of music that lit fire to so much more. When your 63 your still going to love listening to them. I was your age the first time I ever heard them.
Share them with everyone you know Vladimir and the music will live on. I first heard them 50 years ago, back when it was all new :). I'm still listening today!
People have a right to express dislike - that's what the button's for! But logically, 44 years of this most brilliant music says that dislikers are not onto the main zeitgeist, or as in some cases, are just being bloody minded and "acting out" childishly. So they don't need our denegration, just our pity. I hereby give out that pity. As, most definitely, not liking this Beatles track must be a pure and bewildering pathos.
just watched santa and eric play this, both were great but george was the first. and when this song came out we in the day were blowen away. gosh I miss those day's.
I'd disagree, while John and Paul did most of the songwriting, I believe George was probably the second best writer in the group. He made a lot of beautiful songs when he was with the Beatles, not to mention his success after the Beatles.
Yes, Mr. GIant --- The Fabulous Four (as the were called back then) were THE BEATLES. They were a major hit all around the world. They claim to be more popular than Jesus Christ... and they were! Girls fainted, screamed their heads off every time they had a concert. You can't hear the songs because of all the screaming. They were ahead of their times in every aspect. Very revolutionary!
Your are right!! Clapton plays all the solos. Any one who has studied guitar styles knows that the solos are not how George plays. Not diminishing George coz he was a great guy and talent.
I agree, one of the best. Thanks for all the work. (As George said, you think the world will be listening to U2 or Oasis (or ...) in 100 years. This will still be played and loved!
This is my favorite Beatles song followed by "Golden Slumbers/ Carry That Weight"..... followed by too many to name. I also think it is one of the most under-rated of the Beatles songs. AND, VERY nice video! Kudo's. I don't know who the 30 that gave it thumbs down... but they obviously are just trolls that do not appreciate hard work!
george harrison etait une legende une voix sublime qui touche l esprit et les sentiments Dommage , dans ce siecle il n y a pas des talents qui meritent le respet n importe qui peut chanter ; l art a perdu sa valeur , son emplacemet
I recommend the Bangladesh concert version where Eric (most excellently) expedites the same or similar beauty of phrasing and George can be heard separately and later in the track [You need that specific 7 minute+ track - but I can't find the link any more]. Georges melody phrasing becomes clearer as Eric gives him space...beautiful! p.s. the Jules Holland on piano version is nowhere near as good and would be the wrong one.
@tootall11211 To my knowledge, he is the only solo Beatle to have a platinum record. He was in the studio more than John or Paul who both took breaks from the music industry after their first solo albums. I don't refute that the other Beatles are great; I just don't see how you can claim that George was not. The guy mastered Raunchy by his mid teens and learned the Sitar while on a meditation retreat with the Beatles in Southeast Asia, on drugs.
@SiliconSicilian I think you're missing my point. A platinum record means it sold a lot. That in and of itself is no indicator of quality, or ability. You missed what I said, the amount of work put out by George after the Beatles in no way comes near the amount of work put out by Paul. George didn't tour much, McCartney had Wings, which is where I think he did some of his best work, but that's subjective.
@SiliconSicilian Hmm, you're gonna have to show me that. The sheer volume of work, both in the studio and on tour, doesn't seem to bear you out. Harrison a commercial success? Well, maybe because he was a Beatle, but I don't remember him doing all that much. How do you judge that? Number of records sold, number put out, most sold out shows? All of those? I don't think the facts will bear that out.
@tootall11211 Facts are funny, aren't they? Clapton is a great guitarist, I'll agree...but Harrison wrote the song. If we talk about success after the Beatles, your facts are mistaken as Harrison probably had the most commercial success of all the original members. McCartney and Lennon both went to music sporadically after band. While they both had some notable hits, there was little in the way of volume success.
@tootall11211 The amounts are not equal, quality could be debated to no end, that's subjective. The amount put out is quantifiable. How many songs and or albums did George put out? How many did Paul do? Of course, now has the advantage of staying around longer to do more, but just compare the same time frames. You do the research, I don't have time, but until you have definitive proof, I'll stand by my earlier statement.
When I listen the beatles I get sad, specially with the sad songs because I worry that no one will listen them anymore when I get 40 years old. I am 15
Love this song. The lyrics are amazing and the guitar solo (Eric Clapton, special guest) is unbeliveble. RIP dear George
Nothing can beat The Beatles in my heart. They will remain the best and unbeaten for good. George, John, Ringo and PaulI love You!

The original and best version. One of the very best pieces of music ever, I think!
This will always be my favorite Beatles song. Beauty through and through.
なんて、すばらしい曲なのでしょう! ジョージよ永遠に!
George was always my favorite. This is one of his best songs with the Beatles. Other than that, SPEACHLESS!

One of the greatest songs ever!! Thanx!!
Share them with everyone you know Vladimir and the music will live on. I first heard them 50 years ago, back when it was all new :). I'm still listening today!
Good for you!!! Lotta great, great music in the 60's,70's, and 80's!!!
Musical Geniuses who recorded unbelievable music while still in their twentys. R.I.P. John and George.
Still looks and sounds good in 2013! Thanks Sophie

just watched santa and eric play this, both were great but george was the first. and when this song came out we in the day were blowen away. gosh I miss those day's.
one of the best songs by the Beatles!!
Absolutely brilliant
You know you're in a good band when the guy who wrote this is only your third best songwriter!
Well, said !
I'd disagree, while John and Paul did most of the songwriting, I believe George was probably the second best writer in the group. He made a lot of beautiful songs when he was with the Beatles, not to mention his success after the Beatles.
SlenderMan So who was he better than - John or Paul???
Phil Surtees Good question, wonder what the answer will be +SlenderMan ?
Phil Surtees Sue Benavides No, I don't think he was better, but he shouldn't be recognized and the "third best songwriter".
lovely music.
GEORGE, JOHN, PAUL, & RINGO THEY ARE ALL. THE BEST!!!!
1969 - Es la Serie Dorada nº 1.782 y llegó al nº 2 en Caravana Musical.
