This Escalade is absolutely gorgeous. Seen one up close while driving pass me in the opposite direction on the one lane road. Very imposing looking. This model was a Sport Platinum based on the color of the steering wheel which was a lighter color.
It most certainly is an imposing vehicle which is very good because it's an Escalade tradition 😎 Actually, I think the camera may have distorted the color a little bit which could make the interior hard to make out perfectly. I found the window sticker to this Escalade after filming and it is (unfortunately) not a Platinum model, just the sport. Thank you so much for the comment and for watching the video!
James, another outstanding review! You are the best. I enjoy watching your RUclips videos over and over. I learn new things every time! Thank you for all your efforts!
Four wheel steering is a good idea. It works very well on the Audi Q8 and SQ8. Good suggestion for the Escalade too. Personally, I'd love them to add double pane acoustic glass on the first and second row side windows as well, like those Audi's also do. Though it's not bad as is, that would make it even better. All in all though, a beautiful, luxury suv. Love the turbo diesel option. I would love to see them add a fold out flat work surface in the front center console somehow too, like the Ford F150's offer, great for putting laptops on and making your luxury Escalade a mobile home office if you want, and sharing a meal with your front passenger too, even playing cards. Good review! You touch on a number of things other reviewers do not. Thumbs up!
Thank you so so much! I'm really happy with how this video turned out 😁 It was a ton of fun to make too! Thanks again for watching, I'm glad to hear I have a viewer all the way from Brasil!!
I seen the the Cadillac was from Findlay. When riding in the back seat of my Aunt's XT6 and we stopped somewhere, it reminded her that she had a back seat passenger. I thought that was a neat feature, especially when children are dying in hot cars because their parents forgot they had a back seat passenger. Happy 2022 James.
That's correct! And the back seat reminder is an excellent feature especially with young children or stuff put back there to be taken out. Thank you for watching the video, Zach 😁
Wow that's the most in depth review that I've seen on the new Escalade! Thank you so much for the thoroughness as it really helped me with my decision to order one for my family! 👍

@@JW_Reviews James, thanks for your reply! I know you have many followers and the channel is growing, so thank you! So, the way I collected MT and C&D was just getting them monthly in the mail starting at age 13. I never through one away - always boxed and saved. No, I am not a part of a Cadillac club. @@markesanderson6381 You’re very welcome! That’s really neat to hear that you collected them since you were 13. You certainly have quite the love for cars! And the nice thing is you don’t need to own a Cadillac to be able to enjoy them 😄 And I did not realize that ‘68 was the first year for marker lights. I can see why it is your dream car! Yes, my dad and I belong to the North West Ohio Cadillac Lasalle Club. Actually, the Cadillacs we currently have are all relatively new to our family, but my dad has been a Cadillac person ever since he first started driving (his first car was a ‘69 Fleetwood) and we’ve always had at least one Cadillac in the family. I’m the same way! I love talking Cadillacs 😎 Thanks again, Mark!
I agree! I very much like the looks and driving feel of sedans, but I can also see why the Escalade is so popular and there are many reasons to own one (fantastic technology being one of them). Thanks, Joe!
I'm sure lawsuits could be possible! But I think there are enough measures in place where responsibility and liability is placed on the driver. Thanks for watching the video!
Great video James, as usual. One comment, I put on over 150,00 miles on a '16 Escalade ESV, concerning your displeasure with the plastic on the new fob, I can tell you the rubber was nicer, yes, but it completely disintegrated with heavy use. The all windows up or down is a great idea! Thanks for all your work on this video!!👍
Thanks again, Andy! That's a very good point, after a long time of use the rubber wouldn't hold out well on the rubber key fobs. Do you think there is a material that feels better than plastic but lasts just as long that they could use? Making it all out of metal would be too expensive but maybe some sort of softer plastic... And that's neat you put so many miles on that Escalade! It must have been a reliable vehicle for you
@@JW_Reviews has 220,000 on it now, it is used as a Limo, still runs perfectly. VERY RELIABLE!!We had to replace the radiator as it was a factory defect in the seam(I cannot remember if it was recalled), didn't matter as we were way over on the warranty. Brakes and tires about it. And of course lots of oil changes(never go below 0%) on the "change oil" systems computer . Maybe the platinum edition has an upscale fob? 👋👋
Very impressive!! A family friend purchased what I think was a 2016 Escalade brand new. I wasn't in it very often but it was black with a light tan interior and I thought it was a gorgeous vehicle. It now belongs to its second owner and he still drives it and loves it. Maybe I'll have to see if I can borrow it for a review 😁
Fob stays in your pocket these days. 100,000 miles on a 2018 and fob looks brand new. The windows up and down remotely is also on the previous gen Denali.
Amazing review of the new Cadillac Escalade. In fact, the best review of the vehicle I’ve seen in two years. Great job! Feels like you really took your time to undress just what the designers did here in this project! Amazing!
WOW, that's amazing to hear that you think the video is that good!! I like it a lot too and am very proud of it 😁 Thank you so much for the great comment and for watching the video!!
Haha that's for sure 😂 It certainly has more tech than any car I've ever been in lol. Thank you so much for the nice comment and for watching the video 😁
You're getting so well seasoned in your craft, James! Another awesome review, very detailed and interesting. You keep the video moving nicely making the viewers never feel bored and like they want to skip anything. Awesome job on the wireless mic! This video was perfect!
Thank you, Ken!! I'm so glad to hear that you think the videos are improving and entertaining to watch. Improvement is what I focus on to make the videos more enjoyable 😁 Thanks for watching!
It is better for the key to be plastic, with rubber, the buttons eventually fall off and durability goes out the window(My XTS keyfob had this issue). They could have made the key with metal buttons, but the price increases. So while this does provide a cheaper feel, this is a win for durability.
This is the first time I’ve seen any of your videos and let me tell you that I’m really impressed. There are other RUclipsrs that have reviewed this same vehicle but they are not as good as your review. Thank you and God bless you
So good to see your review about this( bouth reviewer and cameraman). Although it's a little bit long, but it's enough to see other clips.Good job sir.
Thank you!! I do tend to get carried away with the length of my videos sometimes, but theres always so much to talk about with these big cars haha. Thanks for watching the video!
One car you should review is the new 2023 Cadillac Lyriq. I am going to get a Lyriq in October of 2023. I have driven a Lyriq and it is an amazing automobile. It's a great new direction for Cadillac. This will be my 12th Cadillac, so I am a Cadillac man through and through.
First time watching and I really liked the way you present. Will definitely subscribe. By the way what is the brand of the coat you are wearing. Sorry of topic.
Thank you so so much! I'm glad you liked the way I present the videos and I really appreciate you subscribing to the channel 😁 I believe the coat I was wearing was a Calvin Klein. As a matter of fact, I tore the zipper off of the coat while filming so I had to get a new coat haha. Thanks for watching the video!
Fantastic, the present generation and tomorrow generation can not hide the new version of escalade I expect to own the vehicle few days to come, much congratulations
I was talking about putting V6 common rails diesels into American full size SUV 15 years ago ;) Glad they finally did it. As you can see fuel economy is great, but power is also decent. That’s truly dream car for cruising without worrying about refuelling every 300 miles ;)
Hello James: enjoying your content, it's quite a bit different than watching/listening to DeMuro and I like you better for a few different reasons. I'm sure you're finding there's a learning curve with presenting this stuff and I will continue watching and you coming up with new and interesting vehicles. I notice you present a lot of Cadillac products so maybe you will find your niche with high end stuff. Thanks for the entertainment!
Hi William! I'm so glad to hear that you enjoy watching the videos and find them entertaining 😁 And yes, a lot to learn! Especially coming from zero experience in the RUclips world. But the channel is slowly getting there and I'm very happy with it! And very true, it's actually been a bit of a coincidence that I've reviewed mostly Cadillacs, but it is my favorite car brand so I certainly can't complain haha. You're so welcome, thank you for the wonderful comment and for watching the videos!
119 years old still innovative a beautiful. How many songs, movies and even funerals mention CADILLAC is hard to count and impressive watch out coca-cola.
Love the older Caddy's but the newer ones are very disappointing!! I HAD a 2019 XT5 and it was nothing more than a Jazzed up Chevy Equinox!! Got rid of it in 2021 and now I am very happy in my Lincoln Nautilus. I like watching your channel when you do the older Caddy reviews. By the way, I think you are kind of cute and very well dressed!!!
That's too bad the XT5 wasn't up to snuff with the competition! I believe that if it was to be updated with something like an Escalade interior it would perform much better. Fortunately, the upcoming Lyriq will have a very similar interior as the Escalade which I think will greatly help its performance in the luxury crossover market. Would you ever consider an electric vehicle? Or maybe a hybrid from Lincoln?
Happy New Year. Enjoyed this review of the 2021 Escalade. In your opinion, is it worth it to get the upgraded version or is the lower end version good enough?
Thank you, Joe! And that's a great question. I haven't been in the Platinum trim of this gen of Escalade which I'm sure is much nicer and has more features. However, considering how expensive this model is (sticker price of around $101,000) I would probably not buy the Platinum trim. But, if it was within my price range I would certainly consider it or even buy a used Platinum a year or two old for the same price. Thanks for watching!
Hi James, Yes these vehicles are very expensive in the UK. I have just purchased a Chrysler 300c salon and wow nice. Keep up the good work and look forward to seeing more of your blogs
Hi David! Not surprised that it's expensive over there, I'm guessing most American cars are that way. Very nice! I really like the looks of those Chrysler 300's 😎 Thank you so much for commenting and watching the video!
Great video again thank you, keep them going. The keyfob could have changed for a couple reasons rubberized is going to wear and look bad much quicker. Then again the plastic could also be cheaper.
Glad I stumbled to your channel, this was an outstanding review. Have been seriously debating picking one up but the fact that there’s no rear wheel steering for such a boat and relatively low range on a full tank of gas has been keeping me off.
I'm so glad you found the channel! I'm so glad you liked the review 😁 Very true! It would be nice to have rear wheel steer, especially when parking. However, the cameras are extremely useful and automatic parking helps as well. And I agree about the range, that's one of the big advantages of buying a diesel Escalade. The range is improved significantly. Thanks for the support and for watching the video!
No black wood option on Sport Platinum unfortunately. Only mahogany and cherry colors online. I ordered the burgundy interior with the cherry as I'm tired of the brown wood look. Not enough interior options imo. Biege, Black with walnut or Auburn with cherry only 3 available with 3 others available in other trim levels of the escalade. Don't understand why you cannot choose the brandy, parchment or full jet black (black wood) on the highest trim level escalade.
Very nice choice! I think that interior color is going to be relatively rare. And I agree, it would be really nice to have more interior choices. Lots of blacks and not too many other color options. Thank you so much for watching the video, Courtney!
Overall the Escalade is quite beautiful but I do think the previous generation is much more attractive. The running boards seem quite cheap. As shown when Jim drove into driveway the running boards showed dirt and foot marks. At the price points for this Cadillac it should have disappearing running boards that fit under the car when not in use.
Man that thing is a tech marvel- love the SuperCruise lights in the wheel! Changes lanes for you if you use turn signal? Crazy! I would feel weird about that too! I had a 2017 Accord with lane keeping assist and it was weird/fun letting it drive with no hands, but it would eventually let you know you need to place hands on wheel. Caddy uses the camera on your face which is great if you fall asleep- really good feature. Quite the departure from the previous chromed-out version, I have to say Im not a fan of the zero-chrome all back stealth look- it looks like something ordered for the Feds, and I don't think they are safe at night - as a giant black box from the side with no chrome highlights of any kind, they should do a strip of light somewhere on the side if they want complete black out. Maybe they could offer a model with chrome grill and accents and sides? This thing looks like was hit with an ugly stick, very little style from the sides but thats just me. I think they should have lit-up the badges, front and sides. The dash is very cool as they spread everything out horizontally instead of a vertical center screen. Interesting they went with a stiffer ride instead of comfort- once again maybe GM could offer a comfort button for ride choice - would be a good thing- since so many are bought for limo work. The 0-to 60 segment was entertaining! Great work James, thanks for this - excellent job and presentation as always, and so nice with the new mike/sound! Happy New Year to ya!
Cadillac also offer the traditional Gravano chrome with the luxury, premium luxury and luxury Platinum models standard. Also, the ride quality is a matter of taste. For the reason with a tauter ride quality might be a combination of this vehicle being BOF & the rims are '22 inches.
I couldn't have said it better! This Escalade most certainly is a tech marvel. And I agree, for an Escalade I'd prefer a version with much more chrome. Maybe someday I'll be able to take a look at one of the Premium Luxury models which has a more luxurious and traditional look. Thank you so much for your thoughts and feedback, I always look forward to what you have to say when I make new videos. You always have such great insight and compliments!!
I have two more complaints,. paying all that money ,. instead of the front camera ,. they could to have the cameras on the turn signals that is a big blind spot,. and the third seat for those long trips they do not recline. that is no good.
Air suspension and independent rear, these are just maintenance nightmares. This thing is good if you have the money to lease or buy new and trade in when it gets 40K mile before this crap starts breaking. This thing is like driving a school bus with some chrome emblems honestly. I like cadillac but maybe the sedan or something more manageable.
Good point! I'm guessing that a lot of people will lease these and get something new before stuff like that starts to break. Probably not the best long-term vehicle... Thanks for watching the video!
Will do 😎 Thank you so much for watching!
I wish they had a light that shined in the sky like Batman
Haha, that would be VERY fitting for this car!!
I did not even felt it was 52:40 long video.. keep it up man all the best
I'm glad the video didn't seem long 😁 Will do, I really appreciate the support!
Great review!
Thank you so much! 😁
Awesome full review man!
Thank you so much!! I really appreciate the support
this review is actually really great....i might actually purchase this spec some day because of you,new sub definitely!!!
Cadillac should come with a diesel hybrid option! Best setup for bigger vehicles!
Great review. More please.
Great video James, hope you get millions of subs soon!
Thank you so much!! I hope so too 😁
Agree on Diesel engine 🙌⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Diesel is the way to go 😎
Amazing review
119 years old still innovative a beautiful. How many songs, movies and even funerals mention CADILLAC is hard to count and impressive watch out coca-cola.
It certainly is an incredible and historic brand! Thanks for watching the video, Tony 😁
WONDERFUL video , thanks !
I'm so glad you liked the video 😁 You're very welcome!
Looks great in all Black
That wireless mic was a necessity! Sound is much better now! Keep it up, it took me 3 years to reach 10K subscribers in my Spanish car review channel!
Gorgeous suv and lovely diesel option great engine for this platform.
It is a great looking vehicle, and I think the diesel is a must have. Thanks for watching!
This is the god of all SUVs 😱🤑👑👏
An amazing review. We do not get these in the UK but looks as if it’s specs are great.
I've always wanted an escalade diesel to happen
I have right now the old Escalade and the seats are so comfortable where is those seats on the new Escalade???
I agree! It would be really nice if Cadillac offered a trim above Platinum with softer seats both front and rear. Maybe someday...
Gorgeous Escalade
It certainly is beautiful 😁 Thanks for watching the video!

Love your style of reviewing, like how you threw in some history, keep up the good work. #OGDetailer
From demons to corvettes glass headlights hardly exist anymore it kinda rare now
when the v series comes out next year im sure the price will jump at least 40%
That's true! It'll be interesting to see how popular the V series will be. I'm guessing it'll be very desireable... Thanks for watching the video!
Very informative Thanks man
Nice ♥️
Thank you so much, Clarence! 😁
I didn't know the Escalade was available in diesel. This would be suitable for service in West Africa. Might export one of these big boys.
Fab video, my friend.!
You don’t put the pedal down in a diesel because it runs on compression you’re supposed to ease the pedal
Interesting, that's good to know! Thank you for watching the video 😁
Great video. Sick vehicle but I’m over the polished wood, Cadillac could have done something more unique.
Thanks for watching!!
@@JW_Reviews ok, thanks to you, you make my hour, send u a hug, and go on
Thanks
You're welcome 😁
I advice to come up with multiple energy consumption meaning gas, petrol and diesel ⛽
Would you say black is a better color than the crystal white on the caddy.
Che meraviglia
I am interested to buy Diesel Escalade with bench sheet but they are not providing bench sheet. Disappointment.
漂亮!
If Darth Vader had a car it would look exactly like this, lol 😂 I mean that in a good way.
👍👍👍👍👍
This escalade gets better MPG than my 95 Celica
Sorry I have a short question, how many oil litres consuming per 12 kilometers?
Hmm I'm afraid I don't have an answer for you, I'm not sure...
its sad it took 15 years for a diesel, the Mercedes was the only big 7 seater option
I agree! It would have been great to have a diesel Escalade several generations ago... Thanks for watching the video, Brian!
I have a 2023 ESV Sport 6.2
Now I'm finally on board to order a 2025 3.0 diesel and I findout you can no longer get an Escalade with a diesel, WTF !!!
