It has been a year since this video... Wondering how things have been working out or if any issues/leaks or anything have happened especially around that vent hole that had to be drilled.

Still using this gas can yet! The vent hole does leak however because I screwed up the hole lol. If I just can't fill it up very full otherwise it leaks out when I pour it but if I leave it about 3/4 full no problems really I'm just not using it for longer term storage of fuel because of the vapors, for that I have a new 5 gallon metal Jerry can now.

I HATE modern gas cans. My god, they're awful. Just watching you mess with that grey plastic pushy-doodle made me angry. Later in life, I understood why the old guys were using the same cans for 30 years.

No kidding right? The EPA made us all feel like idiots every time we pour gas 😆. Find some estate sales and garage sales you can find some deals on those old metal cans once in a while. I always have my eye out. That, and cast iron cookware which is becoming increasingly hard to find these days.

Oh look at this guy all in 2021 technology 😝🤣. Yeah I definitely see the appeal of battery powered stuff. Time and place for everything I guess. Trimmers especially have really caught up in the cordless world. I might have a special video here in a few weeks where my 2 stroke echo is really going to show the usefulness of having gas 😜. Different yard perhaps 🤔...

Get a surecan and forget all that

$9 vs $40. So there’s that. I know people who have surecans that leak. They look like a great idea, I’ve been meaning to test one out for a while just haven’t picked one up yet. A lot of the stuff I do is about not wasting what you have, rather fix than buy new if you know what I mean.

@@DIYDad1 i hear ya but rigging a gas can just doesnt sound like a great idea. Hows that react when vapors are escaping?

@@kbeast98 yeah I hear ya about being cautious. This gas can in particular was cleaned out and left to dry for several weeks before I even did this. There an entire market of aftermarket parts like this that have cropped up because of how stupid gas can designs have become lol. People are collecting old style metal gas cans from estate sales and garage sales because those old designs were just better. Ever since I replace this spout I haven’t spilled even one drop of gas on the ground. Why mess with such a simple concept like a pour spout? The EPA ruined the gas can 😆 I think we can all agree on that at least lol. There’s plenty of videos on RUclips doing this exact same thing in fact. So I’m definitely not the first either 😝
