The hour of joy was at 11 am. It’s been mentioned multiple times. The alert VHS tape has the alert at 11:01 am, which would mean that if the hour of joy started at 10:06 am, Playtime would’ve taken nearly an hour to alert all employees. It does seem intentional that the clock is 10:06. May actually be indicating that the orphans are hearing the hour of joy caused by 1006 which would lead catnap to them (1006 most devout follower).

Catnap probably put them to sleep and moved them to a safer location while the Hour of Joy continued (as Miss Delight admitted to wanting to kill all of the children if she saw them again in the same conversation tape that confirmed the kids alive, so there were/are most likely more toys like her that would've killed the kids giving the opportunity). Though most of not all of the children who survived the Hour of Joy are probably dead by now (living in a factory for 10 years I imagine is not good for your health), and even if there were survivors, the ages would range from being in their 10s-20s (there were cribs as well as beds in Home Sweet Home).

Catnap, the first victim and the orphans past friend Theodore, was made to do that, the soul of Theodore probably didn't want his friends to get hurt anymore by him so I think he was trying for a long time to take control of Catnap, and when he finally did because of the shock before Catnap dies, Theodore was able to take control, he knew Prototype 1006 was going to kill him so he allowed it so he doesn't hurt his friends anymore, but hey, I could be completely wrong 😅😅

My thoughts were that all the toys and Smiling Critters and all the others were originally orphans (like how Poppy is the big guys daughter). It explains the blood, the creepy story of the duffel bag with a kid’s body parts, how all of them seem to have consciousness. Though I think they might vary in age and a couple might be adults like Miss Delight. It’s possible that all the smallest ones are really young kids or the process to put into such small bodies took away more of their cognitive abilities and that’s why they do whatever Catnap asks, a child army blindly following to survive because they never learned anything else. Anyone who wasn’t a toy or mascot got eaten, including the children.

This could also simply refer to the time when the children were put to sleep and taken away to safety. A tape in which Miss Delight talks to herself as another entity implies that the children were hidden away (at least some of them).
The saddest part? I think a few kids had to wake up to find everything they knew just gone… and there was other hungry creatures around that ended up finding and eating them.

I think that instead of the children being dead, they were protected by CatNap. Because why would Experiment 1006 or any of the bigger bodies want to kill children? The reason the hour of joy happened was because they wanted revenge on the workers or 1006 was not liking what they were doing. I instead think that CatNap put them to sleep to ease them from the screams, and then probably took them to where we’re going in chapter 4. That or they starved.
Fact: dogday when he screams you hear him going in the shredder and picky piggy wasn’t eating the smiling critterz she is just warning that catnap was gonna eat the smiling critterz
I believe this is pretty accurate. The majority of the kids agreed to joying the hour of joy. The things is, they thought the would free if they did what 1006 wanted, each didn't turn out to come true, plus they started to regret being part of that. That's when the kids turned against 1006 and tried to convince catnap that the did a terrible mistake and that 1006 wasn't good or didn't care about them. Catnap didn't listen and putted them to "sleep". And, unfortunately, that happened to the other kids too (the ones that didn't become experiments).
It seems to me that the “red gas that puts them to sleep” sounds more like a roundabout way of describing blood flying through the air with the sleep being, well, 💀

In the cartoon, I think it’s to show that Catnap arriving at that time (10:06) to put the critters to sleep is a way of showing that Catnap killed the critters under the direction of the Prototype (Dogday is even posed on the couch similarly to how he is found in the game, arms up, blanket covering legs to represent them being gone). The time for hour of joy is when the Kissy Missy tape of her tied down was &/or when the emergency broadcast occurred which was like 11 something.

Also it gave a hint of what happened to dogday because when the camera cuts to to catnap sitting on the couch the only one on the couch is dog day and he is in a position where you can’t see his legs and his arms are held up like we see later in the game when he is chained up.
Yeah with Miss Delights VHS tape is safe to assume Catnap was protecting kids during the hour of joy. You also don’t see him attacking anyone in the actual Hour of Joy VHS, just him walking through playcare with a bunch of bodies around. But that doesn’t really prove he didn’t attack anyone because I’m sure he did once the kids were safe or before he got to the house.
It's also probably foreshadowing what happened to the smiling critters themselves. The others are asleep on the floor, Dogday is sitting on the couch with his legs covered and arms leaned up like he is when we meet him, and Catnap is unaffected. He's also the one who knocked them out, so that could be foreshadowing how he killed them all himself.

It’s almost certain that catnap didn’t kill the children, as we learn he actually protected the children from the other toys, example: miss delight. He took them to a safe place. Most likely where he put them to sleep so they couldn’t heat the noise outside and such
My thoughts were that all the toys and Smiling Critters and all the others were originally orphans (like how Poppy is the big guys daughter). It explains the blood, the creepy story of the duffel bag with a kid’s body parts, how all of them seem to have consciousness. Though I think they might vary in age and a couple might be adults like Miss Delight. It’s possible that all the smallest ones are really young kids or the process to put into such small bodies took away more of their cognitive abilities and that’s why they do whatever Catnap asks, a child army blindly following to survive because they never learned anything else. Anyone who wasn’t a toy or mascot got eaten, including the children.

The timing of the commencement of The Hour of Joy as per the Fandom is said to be at 11:00 a.m. on 8th August, 1994, although it may have started earlier. This could also simply refer to the time when the children were put to sleep and taken away to safety. A tape in which Miss Delight talks to herself as another entity implies that the children were hidden away (at least some of them).
The fact they called it “The Hour of Joy” makes it so much more terrifying
The saddest part? I think a few kids had to wake up to find everything they knew just gone… and there was other hungry creatures around that ended up finding and eating them.
My thought was during the hour of joy after catnap was done
He knew were the smiling critters were and decided they didn’t fallow my master let me just kill them

Just hearing them talk about the hour of joy and knowing what happened in the hour of joy is scary and now I can imagine what it’s like just hearing a whole bunch of blood curdling screaming is horrific! If I were the orphans I would want to be put to sleep too😨

Also Dogday’s position when hes put to sleep has a identical pose to how we see him in game (as-well as his art from the smiling critters, always depicting his arms to be up)
I think that instead of the children being dead, they were protected by CatNap. Because why would Experiment 1006 or any of the bigger bodies want to kill children? The reason the hour of joy happened was because they wanted revenge on the workers or 1006 was not liking what they were doing. I instead think that CatNap put them to sleep to ease them from the screams, and then probably took them to where we’re going in chapter 4. That or they starved.

Fact: dogday when he screams you hear him going in the shredder and picky piggy wasn’t eating the smiling critterz she is just warning that catnap was gonna eat the smiling critterz
I believe this is pretty accurate. The majority of the kids agreed to joying the hour of joy. The things is, they thought the would free if they did what 1006 wanted, each didn't turn out to come true, plus they started to regret being part of that. That's when the kids turned against 1006 and tried to convince catnap that the did a terrible mistake and that 1006 wasn't good or didn't care about them. Catnap didn't listen and putted them to "sleep".
And, unfortunately, that happened to the other kids too (the ones that didn't become experiments).
In the "Sleep Well" song by CG5, you can actually see Catnap expel the red gas around the bunk beds of the orphans, which could confirm this theory...

i think catnap is working with the scientist that turned the smiling critters into smiling critters so thay made the hour of joy happen so that he could put them to sleep and make a evil version of them to be catnaps minions

10:06= 1006, alluding to the Prototype. In the cartoon, I think it’s to show that Catnap arriving at that time (10:06) to put the critters to sleep is a way of showing that Catnap killed the critters under the direction of the Prototype (Dogday is even posed on the couch similarly to how he is found in the game, arms up, blanket covering legs to represent them being gone). The time for hour of joy is when the Kissy Missy tape of her tied down was &/or when the emergency broadcast occurred which was like 11 something.
And they’re told to cover themselves with blankets and pillows if they can’t hide

I never thought of this! I have t had enough time to go through the Chapter three stuff and search for as many secrets as possible because of school 😐 but I’m glad Poppy Playtime is still pretty popular, even if the first Chapter got a bit of backlash.
All i needed to hear was the first line of "did you know the vhs tape explains the orphans at the hour of joy" and my mind thought of all the screams while catnap sits there until they all die. My mind is disturbing.

If CatNap came in without 1006 telling him to, then he must really care about the kids, and either went to put them to sleep or to just be with them, and then asking to put him to sleep then him just waiting with them for it to end
But jokes aside that loop was *clean*
Also it gave a hint of what happened to dogday because when the camera cuts to to catnap sitting on the couch the only one on the couch is dog day and he is in a position where you can’t see his legs and his arms are held up like we see later in the game when he is chained up.

Yeah with Miss Delights VHS tape is safe to assume Catnap was protecting kids during the hour of joy. You also don’t see him attacking anyone in the actual Hour of Joy VHS, just him walking through playcare with a bunch of bodies around. But that doesn’t really prove he didn’t attack anyone because I’m sure he did once the kids were safe or before he got to the house.
It's also probably foreshadowing what happened to the smiling critters themselves. The others are asleep on the floor, Dogday is sitting on the couch with his legs covered and arms leaned up like he is when we meet him, and Catnap is unaffected. He's also the one who knocked them out, so that could be foreshadowing how he killed them all himself.
the cardboard cutout of picky piggy implies that she ate kicking chiken, bobba bobbafant and craftycorn so he wouldn't have killed them all but maybe he did get hoppy hopscotch and bobby bear hug but we are not entirely sure since hoppy hopscotch cardboard cutout talk about trying to jump to the moon wich is likely to be the entrance we came from to try to escape but then he screams and bobby bear hug cardboard cutout seem to be talking about her hiding or something like that but she doesn't scream wich could indicate that she is still alive hiding somewhere while everybody else scream which pretty much indicates that they are dead
