Ti Lung is the B-O-M-B in this movie... I wanted to see more of his character. His fight scenes. His Handz...
I have had see this movie in 1985 it wasn't cat like this. Hmong and china are have the same culture, When they have good friend they usually make a pledge to have their children marry if one have boy and the other is a girl. Other things if I am a good family and have a beauty girl. The other like to marry my daughter, they treat her with some thing like silver ring or special gift and they couple days later they can kidnap her when she goes where or very early morning she walks out. And I just don't understand why. But they said she got a big face because her have good mom and Dad.
2 MOVIES IN 1 ! The description explains the 2nd movie. 1st "movie" takes place with almost all different people than the 2nd. In Mae is daughter of Mr Fung (C Kwan Tai). She is engaged to Lu Pan Fi but has a love for Di Lang Chee (Lee Chung Yat). Lu Chen Sen is (Chen Sing). Ti Lung referees Di and Lu's fight. After Di leaves for Thialand THEN COMES almost a totally different movie with (Lu Feng) entering as Lu's son. Di Ching is the man looking for his father, yes Di Lang Chee. He finds a friend "Selleck" and they get involved in the Death Ring championship. Also many new faces not part of 1st of movie. The fighting in both parts is vicious and plentiful ! (Yasuaki Kurata did a movie similiar to this story line also if you like the tournament part called Bloodfight with Bolo)
The first part of the movie is GREAT! The fight choreography and its execution is at the top of the foodchain!
Not crazy about the 2nd half of the film with the Thai boxing, the 2nd part's story, etc. . Then the "Centipede" from 5 Deadly Venoms shows up. Then the fights get good again.
Still, something must've happened financially, or maybe some folks couldn't get along, or something. They had to change up, and go with that 2nd part of the story, which to me wasn't as good as the first...
