Congratulations, Ethan! To me, this sonata proves that Haydn was no less great than Mozart and Beethoven. I hope you learn the second and third movements as well, if you haven't already. The first movement demands great clarity with its many thirty-second note passages, and I find the clarity in your performance outstanding! As always, I'm also hugely impressed by your beautiful tone and dynamics.
Both your playing and recording setup have improved! Was that also a different piano than what’s typically featured? It had a more delicate sound overall. I’m glad you learned to lighten your touch on the keys; when I first heard you play, you used a more firm technique naturally, but lightening your dynamics is also an important yet challenging skill. Well done!😊
Only you could keep me listening to Haydn.
what precise playing, well done
Absolutely brilliant playing as always, Ethan!
