The PGA TOUR heads to Naples, Florida this week for the inaugural Grant Thornton Invitational at Tiburón Golf Club. This marks the first co-sanctioned event between the LPGA and PGA TOUR since 1999 as the 32-player field will split into 16 mixed teams and compete for an equal purse. The tournament’s field includes 24 of the top 50 in the world from the PGA TOUR and LPGA Tour. Rickie Fowler will be playing with Lexi Thompson this week. Fowler returned to the TOUR winner’s circle this year for the first time since 2019 alongside making the Ryder Cup team. Thompson nearly made the cut at the Shriners Children’s Open on the PGA TOUR this fall and ended her LPGA season with three straight top-10s. Charley Hull will be playing with Justin Rose this week in an all-English pairing. Hull was part of the European Solheim Cup team that retained the trophy, while she had an impressive four runner-up finishes in 2023. Rose won the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in February, had five top-10s and was a leader on the winning European Ryder Cup team. Tony Finau is paired with Nelly Korda this week. This year, Korda had nine LPGA top-10s and won on the Ladies European Tour. Finau won twice on the PGA TOUR this season. Other pairs to look out for are Ludvig Åberg and Madelene Sagström, Lydia Ko and Jason Day and Leona Maguire and Lucas Glover.

This should be done every year and sanctioned by both tours. I would love to see tournament where they play together women and men with adjusted tees. Would be amazing event. These women are so dang good and should be showcased.
they are showcased in their own golf league, the lgpa. i enjoy watching them more than the men

It's already done on the DPWT/LET. The US tours just need to copy the Scandinavian Mixed
@@Gupps0123456 I’m not a familiar I saw in Australia they played together but separate event I’d like to be same event. If already done elsewhere good on them and bet great event. Let’s hope adopted in America.
For me this is the best tournament of the year, what a way to get young golfers, boys and girls playing together more often, its a special aspect of golf
Can someone please take this to the International Olympic Committee and put this format in the Olympics?!?!? It’s perfect for it and would make a gold medal unique and special for the sport.

Amazing synergy with Jason and Lydia...they took turns hitting the clutch shots. Exciting to watch and great format, mixing it up each day. Only 3 days too...love this.

How about Brooke's bunker play!!! Great play by both Brooke and Corey... so close! But if they had to lose, it couldn't have been to two nicer folks than Lydia and Jason. So nice to see all four of them in such fine form. This should be a staple crossover tournament every year. Great golf, great fun.

Golf needs to re invent itself. For starters, I suggest that golf be divided into 3 sixes , rather than 2 nines. Every 6 holes , ideally has 1 par 5, 1 par 3 and 4 par 4s. Many more people can have time for 6 holes, and not 9. Golf courses have more t off holes . Overall, less taxing for time etc .
Brooke is just cute
they only showed one single shot of aberg and sagströms round despite shooting the lowest score of the day, a 60 with the closest being a 63 and they ended up coming third overall, i could count to 3 shots being shown as highlights across all three rounds

NBC's coverage was a joke day an ko in the final pairing along side Nelly and final and they would show day an ko hit then they would go to commercial never showing Nelly an finau hit they did it allday. What a show of disrespect by NBC.

When is a tournament not a tournament? I’ve actually played in a tournament, or being an amateur I suppose I’ve never played in a tournament. A tournament is in fact a tournament.

love to see JDay win, hated to see Lydia win with him so overall this is an acceptable winning duo. Just wish someone would lock Lydia Ko up in her bedroom and have her come out once a year for food
Hey look kids another snooze fest from the pga tour. The women announcing are like listening to nails on a chalkboard. 14 LIV tourneys and 4 majors is plenty of golf for all of us. The pga can be the minor leagues trying to get to LIV. Rip the bandaid off so we don’t have to watch this nonsense anymore.
