This video was my childhood! The first video I ever saw of a real steam locomotive, and I still like the MRSR #5 to this day! You gotta love that 6 inch 3 chime
Aw man, this brings back so many wonderful memories as a kid when I used to watch this over and over again, thumbs up if y'all remember it from years back. It may be poor quality, but it's still fun to take a trip down memory lane once in a while.
Yes!! :D Plus my mom used to take me on road trips just to ride trains and go to train museums. We went on several in Colorado, South Dakota, and Utah.
I knew this video was out there and heard a lot about it but I've never seen it before. It was kind of a shock seeing it today. I've gotten old! I'm the streetcar in the film.
It's nice to meet you Jeff! When you said you were in one of the trolleys, you were the conductor. This is great to hear from someone who was interviewed in this video. What was it like being a conductor back at that time? I'm curious.
WOW! That's something :D My grandfather, my parents, and I used to ride on a train and a train museum together. Plus (if you read the video description) my grandfather gave me Awesome Trains because he knew how much I love trains.
Aw man, I remember this! My tape would always screw up and stop at the beginning of the montage at the end, so I've never seen that part. Also, the box said it included trading cards. I never remember any. What did they look like?
StickguyMB We ought to make a video just like that in Ohio featuring NS and I&O in Columbus, The Ohio Railway Museum trolleys in Worthington, a monorail system at an amusement park, and our Hocking Valley Scenic Railway steam locomotive #3 in Nelsonville.
What's that song/tune playing in AND during the process of showing some action scenes of the Trolley Cars from 18:48-19:47 on this Awesome Trains Video (even during many other various action scenes on pretty much every other Simitar "Awesome" Video Tape, made by the Greg James Productions)… along with the music/tune that's heard at the end of this Awesome Trains Video while showing scenes of many different kinds of trains in operation (also during many other various operation and action scenes on pretty much every other Simitar "Awesome" Video Tape, made by the Greg James Productions)? Anybody know? If so, what are the names of these two following tunes/songs playing (as mentioned on this comment of mine)?
did you really just ask me that? xD an sd-40 is what you usually see on freight trains. an f40ph is what pulled amtrak trains until the p42dc. just google each one, and you'll see. :3
Hey you should see the video I want to be a train engineer it is by Greg James productions it's finally uploaded, I can't upload it because mine is in bad condition sorry and I used to see it when I was little.
I just got to see it and it's great that I got to learn more about trains. It's also cool that I got to see some stock footage from Awesome Trains being used and that they used some of Mike Lynch's music in it. Thanks for telling me this! I really appreciate it.
Sadly the Video is not on youtube anymore due to Travis Benton's Copyright Strike from one of his videos. :( But Not to worry, I have it on Dailymotion:www.dailymotion.com/video/x5tqfeh
PrinceFritzFire How can you say there is not bad quality? The fuzzy image and glare from the TV, I can see what looks like a rocking chair in your living room! Just because it might be better that some other BAD quality does not mean yours is good. it's just a different grade of Bad..... Nice try though. If you are going to record from a TV then at least buy a video capture device, there are some really inexpensive ones out there and you can then at least get as good of quality as what you see on your TV.
xrxtech Oh, okay! Thank you! But I'm in college and I don't know what kind of video capture I need. Although, that chair reflecting from the screen is not a rocking chair and the TV is in my living room.
Still have this on VHS. big part of my childhood right here. I had such an obsession with trains as a kid:)

What does that mean?
Goggles Tigerkhan What's the difference between an sd-40 and an f40ph?
did you really just ask me that? xD
an sd-40 is what you usually see on freight trains. an f40ph is what pulled amtrak trains until the p42dc. just google each one, and you'll see. :3
The sd40's are what you see on the burlington northern locomotives.
Kevin Williams not just burlington northern. most freight companies have sd-40s
Goggles Tigerkhan i know i was just giving an example the video
BNSF9250 kinda shows how little that "engineer" knows about locos
Where in the video is #5?
The driver said retarder that means to slow down or to stop the train in railroading

xrxtech Well, if he buys a capture card, there is a more likely chance of the video getting taken down.
I agree with you Michael.
