Pushkar: India’s Scam Capital? 🇮🇳
Yo guys, I finally left Udaipur and headed to the next city in Rajasthan - the city of Pushkar. Pushkar is a small town, located in the north east part of the city Ajmer. On my first day in Pushkar, I explored the small city, met a lot of locals, tried some local food and visited some temples. Apparently I've also met the toughest street gang in Pushkar. While strolling through the city, I saw also a lot of scammers and religious touts, because these are unfortunately also some things Pushkar is famous for... Enjoy!
Pushkar, a city in the state of Rajasthan, India, is famous for its sacred Pushkar Lake, which holds a significant place in Hindu mythology. The lake is surrounded by 52 bathing ghats where pilgrims come to take a ritual dip, believing it will cleanse them of their sins and bring them closer to salvation. The picturesque setting and spiritual significance make it a popular pilgri mage destination. However, Pushkar has also been a hotspot for scams targeting tourists. One of the prevalent scams involves fraudulent priests pressuring visitors to make large donations for ceremonies and blessings.
