Yep I'm in North Carolina. I just got back home from a car show. The top 50 trophies went to cars from 2009 to 2023. 40 of those 50 trophies went to corvettes and Mustangs and a 1995 Ford Bronco with cow paint and horns. Very few classic cars (1950's, 1960's, 1970's) ever win.
@@Robert-mz9hiI hear ya!! Here in Minnesota there are so many clubs that come in and sweep up all the trophies ( participant voting) its unreal!!!! Organizers that put these shows on year after year need to change the voting to a spectators choice or something, there is definitely a pattern going on and it's the SAME people that always win, even if the car is a rusted piece of crap!!!
Unfortunately, the local shows are "judged" by people who don't know anything about cars. I have a ground-up restored '29 Packard, won its class at Amelia Island back in 2006, car is still gorgeous, we chat it up with the crowds all the time and it's always heavily photographed and people pose in it for photos. End of the day, the trophies always go to late-model Camaros and Corvettes with crazy paint jobs. I can't tell you how many times I've lost "Best Classic" trophies to street rods or rat rods, and recently to a friend's heavily customized '67 Firebird, while our car is stone stock restored. We enjoy the shows, but it's very frustrating.

I totally understand how you feel. It is very frustrating sometimes.
This may be stupid question how long should I stay near my car at a show and should I be near the car when the judging are near it
