I find is just so brilliant that there are still so many Gong and Steve Hillage fans out there…..and you know, Daevid and Gilli and Pierre and others are forever with us…..I have enjoyed this band since 1977 then a 15 year old……and I still love them….just so good we have such a big teapot family..
Steve Hillage and Gong changed everything. In the 70s we had the best musicians, music that was magical and spiritual. In 2023 still the best psychedelic band in the known universe.(I was there dancing on a Saturday in a concrete bunker in Brighton and it healed my soul).
Way back in the mystery of times and 'Shrooms' was a member of GAS (Gong Appreciation Society) possibly 1976!! Along with the birth of UKPUNK. Oh what fun we had.
Thanks for uploading this very decent live footage. I'm not so much a Gong admirer, but more a Steve Hillage fan, so it was great to see him back at it again just last year.
Merci, Ommm Shanti. Amicalement, Gaston GAÏTAN 😅
What a fantastic band! The last time I'd seen Gong prior to this gig in Brighton was on the Avalon stage at Glastonbury 2000. And I was lucky last night to see them with support from Ozric Tentacles at the Kentish Town Forum.
Saw the Steve Hillage band in Oxford about 1975 - the show was in many ways similar to the Hawkwind set with extended solos, jams, merged tracks and synths. Superb bass player then, John McKenzie.
Lucky us to have experienced these bands…..I love the meld of various bands….we can link Gong to Steve Hillage to Tim Blake to Hawkwind to Nik Turner to Robert Calvert to Here & Now and back to Gong…..brilliant….never going to forget such music and times..cheers..
This is awesome highly creative music. It seems that a lot of prog rock would be an ideal way to utilize the light show available at The Sphere. Yes comes to mind, replete with Roger Dean animated imagery. King Crimson would also be very cool. Kansas. Dream Theater. Any of Neal Morse's or Steve Wilson's creative collaborations. LTE.
@@bdapure I've been following Gong/Hillage since the 1970s... let me tell you that Hillage joined Gong in 1973 and is not a founding member. Secondly, while I agree that when played live there is a certain amount of fluidity, this version more represents the Gong version. It's not a criticism, just an opinion. It doesn't matter but I am allowed to post a comment. Do you have a problem with that?

It's certainly good for the soul.
Incredible gig at Chalk. Om Riff was absolutely epic.

Absolutly georgous
Thanks.
May all your teapots soar high above.
The best drug trips that I ever had were accompanied by Steve Hillage and Gong.
Good times, Brilliant Music, incomparable live gigs.
Don't forget 'CAN' cantagomago
@@caesarsmith4711 And the Ozrics.
Did they hold your hand or what
Lamentable.
Thank you Gong for all of the joy you bring to us

I used to play that green vinyl record so much!
Could absolutely listen to this all day every day on repeat.
So could I. So long as the speakers were on mute.
My canary is enjoying this. He's singing and tinkling his bell.
Probably the hemp seed in his food lol

I was at that gig.
This was incredible!! How is this music being played in 2023?!?! and where?!!? are you coming to Boston ever? My goodness that was sick.

Wow!!! Fabulous performance. Really cooking!
great stuff, thanks
Thx James!
Wow!!
Fuck yeah.
In light of U2’s massive gig at the sphere in vegas , a gong gig would be something else !!

I really enjoyed this tour and I thought that they didn't sing this was a great idea
it would be amazing to have a concert in central portugal, in the woods by the river :-)
Deep....love to see the LIVE show...
An obvious influence on the Ozrics. Wow explains this best
OM!
Absolutly georgous 🎉
Mr Hillage numero uno
He's lost nothing in his playing i just wished he dropped the Steinberger & went back to that fine old Blonde Les Paul & his Strat instead.
I think for accuracy, the video should have been entitled "The Master Builder" as this more akin to Gong's version that Hillage's later version.

I'll have a teenth
Thanks mostly to Mr Moog
Was just coincidentally listening to Eno s third uncle before this, strikingly similar 😊
The original ambient house track, twenty years before ambient house.
toujours aussi excellent !! where is Allen ? avec eux surement .
RIP
Top notch!
This sounds so much like Hawkwind/Hawklords….
thought I heard nik turner there
Is there a 2024 tour date?
Is that Mike Howlett on Bass too?
Gong à survécu au décès de Daevid Allen ??? Je ne savais pas ....
The drummer is pedestrian....Im too used to the version on GREEN.
How did this even happen lol??
Welcome to the planet gong,my friend.
Tu veux un camembert. ??😉
Shame theres saxaphone on this. Totally spoils it. I would be a fan but for sax.
It always had sax. Here's the original ruclips.net/video/6Tn6qn2gKGI/видео.html
Are you saying you’re asaxual?
@@seanhenry8243 ,anti saxual?
