I think there's an extra element of humor, in that You only need to win once to win the whole "round" with an opponent, under these speed running settings. In that context it seems like yeah, a man just fell of the stage at great height. Of course you win. You don't just walk something like that off for a Round 2.

lol this is exactly how I used to beat this game as a kid. Maybe not to this extent. But I'd always run to the edge of the stage and get a ring out.
