I only met Mr Peck twice, once at a school event where his granddaughter was a student. Both times, he was the essence of a gentleman. Every member of the Peck family I met was humble, kind, and gracious.

His son died by a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head which is very tragic. The worst thing for a parent is to bury your child.. and this was a suicide.
Absolutely adored him in Roman Holiday. That last scene in the embassy he seemed to be waiting for that door to reopen. The look on his face when it didn’t was crushing. His character resigned himself to the fact that she could never come back and that he must move on with life. He acted that scene beautifully. I’ve seen that film at least 20 times and I always shed a tear at the end. I met him and Veronique at a Broadway opening - a truly handsome couple and still in love in the early 2000s by the way they stood together. He will always be my “Man Crush.” He played gentlemen very well without cookie-cuttering the roles. Each unique in their own way. Rest In Peace, Greg.
Such "beauties" don't exist anymore actually. I also adore "Roman Holiday". During the years I was a teacher, I read with my pupils each year "Vacances romaines". It was an edition with many pictures of the movie.
I’ll never forget 1991 when I worked for a roofer and we restored the roof on his home in the Hollywood Hills . He owned the former Mary Pickford mansion. Too bad I didn’t get to meet him but it was an honor to work on his home. Great actor

It wasn't JUST about racism. It was also about people projecting blame (the complainant) which is VERY topical today. People caught in their roles on life's stage, I could go on and on.
i think to kill a mockingbird woke me to inequality though i couldn't really understand it at the time, being a pretty young kid. my dad was a stone cold racist and it always made me uncomfortable but the mockingbird movie made my feelings clearer to myself.
The Big Country is my favourite,I think in both that and To Kill a Mockingbird he was really playing himself rather than a character.A truly great individual that made some truly great films.
My family and I got to meet and talk with Gregory several times when he was making a movie in my husband's hometown in 1970. He was there for days. It turned out to be a terrible movie. However, Gregory was always willing to talk with the townspeople, have photos made with them and was gracious in every way. He was kind to everyone! After all the attention he inevitably got because of his celebrity, this is a indication of his character.
I was not aware of how Gregory Peck died, so was somewhat perturbed when I first read the title of this video. It’s August 2022, I’m 77 and have rediscovered a number of his movies on RUclips. As my Dad would have said “He was a lovely man” probably the greatest complement he would make. Given his incredible achievements throughout his life and the fact he was an octogenarian dying in his sleep I’m guessing that’s the way he would have wished to pass. Thank you.
His performances in Behold a pale horse, To kill a mocking bird, The Paradine case, Roman holiday, Spellbound, Yellow sky were of highest standard. Whatever may be the movie his very presence would make the viewer energetic. Love you Gregory!!
MR PECK WAS ONE OF THE VERY FEW ACTORS I TRULY ENJOYED WATCHING HIS WORK. HE IS TRULY THE MOST HANDSOME, CLASSY, GENTLEMAN EVER. HE HAD RHE MOST BEAUTIFUL VOICE. RIP MR PECK.
About 60 years ago, one of the first movies I ever saw in cinema was "The Guns of Navarone". For me this is still the best movie with Gregory Peck. He became instantly my favorite actor. I've seen a lot of movies since, but "The Guns" is still one of my top ten movies. Every now and then it is shown on TV and I always watch it then. Although I also have the DVD and can't get enough of watching it.
I absolutely love the keys of the kingdom, I’ve watched it several times over the years it’s a gem. And very faithful to the book.Always without fail I cry my eyes out at his gentle performance, it’s truly one of the most moving of his films. He was so handsome and talented. He leaves a lovely legacy. RIP.
In my opinion, To Kill a Mockingbird is one of the finest films ever made from one of the best books ever written. I also loved Gregory Peck in The Man in the Grey Flannel Suit. It is gratifying to know that he was also a man of great integrity.
I really enjoyed watching his movies. I especially liked To Kill A Mockingbird. He performed well as an attorney and as a father to Scout. You could tell he had a love for children. Such a shame he lost his first son to suicide but happily his younger son gave up alcohol and made a big turnaround in his career.
Formidable Actor and in this world unbelievably humble with it. To kill a M oking Bird, brilliant film . I think he lived his life as he portrayed his Characters, with thorough descency. How sad more people don't resemble him, both in manor and looks.
I loved his work in "To Kill a Mockingbird" and "A Gentleman's Agreement." I did not know about his son's early death. I am so sorry that his son was suffering. I praise God that his younger son made a decision to get the help he needed. His daughter was an awesome host as she honored him in his retrospective. God Bless all the Pecks and their ancestors!

In High school we were assigned to read To Kill a Mockingbird and I fell in love with the book. I was elated to see the movie. One of the best movies ever.💞
Gregory Peck's appearance in films commanded fabulous attention. He made a permanent niche in the hall of fame which very few could emulate. His candour and want of any overreaching through histrionic and his calm presence, very much restrained, made him extraordinary. His life was fraught with tragedy. We wonder how such a man of peerless stature could face such turmoil. His faith in God primarily was unshaken always. May the Soul of the Great Actor a legend for all times, find an everlasting peace that "passeth all understanding" in the words of John Milton in Paradise Lost
I thought he was incredible in The Yearling, but it was too sad for me to watch over and over, as I did with Roman Holiday. Movies don't often show the development of someone falling in love - but Peck made it believable, and the last scene where he's just watching her as she walks away breaks my heart every time. I also liked him a lot in Gentlemen's Agreement. Somehow he managed to climb into his roles completely, and yet his connection to his audience came through from Peck the man, I think.
Gregory Peck was a thoroughly decent prince of a man. Particularly loved him in Roman Holiday and TKA Mockingbird. So sorry about Jonathan. Rest in eternal peace Sir.
@@FactsVerse TBPH, I loved every scene I've ever seen him in, such was his energy and presence. However, the hand in Bocca Della Verita's mouth in Roman Holiday was a highlight. Lool. Thanks for asking.
Didn't Gregory Peck divorce his long time wife after he was interviewed by his last wife Veronique, a French woman who worked for Paris Match magazine. They fell "in love", Gregory divorced his wife and the day after the divorce, he married Veronique. Does that make him a "thoroughly decent prince of a man"? Because he always portrayed decent characters on film doesn't make him necessarily one himself.
No actor was ever as beautiful inside as well as outside like Peck was. I still adore him. Of course my favorite movie of his was "To Kill a Mockingbird" which is a classic. I doubt it would be as good as it was without Peck in it. He had a calm, peaceful presence.
Among many of my favourites I loved him the most in Roman Holiday. I have not seen a gentleman like him and a person as handsome as he was. May his soul rest in eternal peace in paradise….🌹❤️♥️🌷💕

He was one of my favorite actors and after watching this video, I appreciate him more than ever. To Kill A Mockingbird is my favorite movie of all times.
Peck was among my favourites. Arabesque, Mackenna's Gold, Omen, How the West was Won, Old Gringo, too were marvellous. Did not know that this gentleman suffered such a tragedy. Deeply pained to learn.
Jocelyn Carter: My favorite movie of his was to Kill a Mocking bird. He was great in that movie. He made me feel any thing is possible as long as you have family, decency, and a moral value towards life. Loved that man! RIP.
he was a legend , same as marlon brandon , rock hudson , paul newman , charismatic , very good looking and with a unique and awsome personallity that knew how to transmit to their characters.
A great actor he was! I fell in love with the 2 movies he starred in - Roman Holiday and To Kill a Mockingbird. Couldnt help but watch them several times !
My husband was Mr. Peck’s banker at First InterState. His letter of appreciation was read at my husband’s retirement party. The letter is a family treasure.
My thoughts are that Gary Cooper, Gregory Peck and Burt Lancaster were the top leading actors in the before and after the 1950's and 1960's and into the 1970's. Few actors have measured up but these 3 are the ones during that age. I don't have a favorite movie of, but I would watch everyone that they were in. They all had great movies.
You don't have enough room here for me to mention all of my fave Peck movies, but Mockingbird certainly is one. Thanks to your video, I will be renting some soon.. Thanks for such a positive piece. Oh, and as a father of three sons, I too felt for him when his son offed himself; no parent should outlive their child IMHO!
as a really young kid - 6 or 7 years, i fell in love with Gregory Peck. the dark handsome looks.. the noble deep voice. his old movie images still make me go weak kneed. isn't it great to know he was as noble off camera as on...
In my youth I watched all his movies and he filled it with greatness and adventure! He is someone who we should all miss as do I ! I hope his soul finds peace and happiness! He deserves only the best
Gregory Peck is still my favourite actor until now . Would like to know more about his family. He was so impressive in his acting and yes loved his voice too. Sad. RIP😥
~~ no animal rights laws back then ..did they kill deers in the yearling? Too too much manipulative sentimental gimmicks in that piece of crap ... no acting required, just make em cryby killing an innocent critter . The rest of his work passed .
I agree that he was generally good but only so when cast as men of integrity. He was badly miscast as F.Scott Fitzgerald in ‘’Beloved Infidel” which was a pity as it detracted from Deborah Kerr”s excellent performance.
My parents were classmates of GP at Cal. My Mom sold him notebooks when she worked at the student store. I always had a crush on him and considered him to be the most handsome, classy gentleman. Once I wrote him a birthday card and he sent me an autographed photo as Atticus Finch. What a man!!
Gregory performed top class in Roman Holiday, To kill a mockingbird, Guns of Navarone and of course McKennas gold to name a few of his classic performances. The video was very well presented. Well done, you did justice to a legend.
It is too hard to pick one movie. He was so handsome and elegant. When he portrait a bad character roll, I didn't care for it, but his acting was always good to excellent! Actors like him, don't exist anymore. We miss him and others of his time.
What a gifted actor Gregory Peck was! It is hard to choose just one of his many excellent works, but if I had to, "Roman Holiday" would be my top choice. As a bonus: it has my other favorite: the angelic Audrey Hepburn. 🥰
My favourite Gregory Peck movie was "Twelve O'Clock High", from the book by Beirne Lay. Peck's portrayal of the fictional General Frank Savage was, in my opinion, outstanding.
Gregory Peck was an actor with extraordinary acting talent. All his films are worth to be seen again and again. His acting in movies like THE SNOWS OF KILIMANJARO, GUNS OF NAVARONE, MACKENNAS GOLD, TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD are exemplenary. God has given him inimitable sharp looks
I absolutely love Gregory Peck. I think my two favorite movies of his are “To Kill a Mockingbird” and “ The Keys of the Kingdom though i also love “Roman “Holiday,” Spellbound” and “The Yearling.”
Gregory Peck was a legendary actor. He left his special underplayed acting as a mark of his talent and progressive attitude. In spite of many personal losses Peck weathered life as it came to him, always rising above turbulence. Great actor for all times!
I've always been a huge fan of his work - with Mockingbird standing alone at the top of mountain! In addition to many of the films mentioned here, I never miss Captain Newman, M.D., The Big Country, and How the West Was Won. There is a scene in that last film with him riding a little donkey. Those ridiculously long legs were sticking out on either side of him because if he put them down they would drag along the ground. I don't know why that image always sticks in my mind, but I love it! Unlike the endless strings of "celebrities" we have now, Gregory Peck was a real MOVIE STAR. They don't shine much brighter than he!
There will never be anyone like Gregory Peck again, not in this lifetime and probably not the next either. I'm an Aussie/Greek gal and when I came over to the US in 1998. The first picture I had taken was of me crouching down in front of my idol's foot and hand prints with his signature. He is a modern God. I love all his work, but my top three are; The Guns Of Navarone Roman Holiday Horatio Hornblower .....oh swoonworthy. Thank you for you wonderful cinematic gifts, your humility and your divine, mellifluous voice.❤ RIP you amazing man 💔
Gregory Peck”s performance in To Kill a Mockingbird was the quintessential actor that was raised in the studios. The actors/actresses reflected the values and the dreams of all Americans struggling to make a good life. He reflected the deep seated values of all Americans. Hollywood has lost that grounding and no one really pays attention to their movies, nor will they reminisce about them in the future. I hope Hollywood can recruit actors like Gregory Peck, who protect the solemn values of Americans again.
Gregory Peck was always one of my favourites. His most outstanding roll was definitely in To Kill Mocking Bird. However that said I enjoyed many of his other roles as well. Thank you
So many great roles are associated with Mr. Peck. My favorites tend to go against type like Duel in the Sun, Arabesque, Moby Dick, and Designing Woman, but of course the one that I think defined his type as an actor Atticus Finch in To Kill a Mockingbird; and his work in Gentleman's Agreement. He will always be remembered through those films, what came from him and into the camera. He was a rare one.
it's hard to believe that (up till now), there's only one mention of his role in "The Man in the Gray Flannel Suit". He was awesome and became a hero of mine for that performance. I'm also proud to be with him as an alumnus of UC Berkeley
He was a real professional actor. The WW2 film “12 O’Clock High” for various reasons will always be my favourite, but I much appreciated all your films.
Loved him in To Kill a Mockingbird. Captain Newman MD, The Scarlett and the Black, Keys of the Kingdom, The Big Country. Never saw one of his movies I didn’t love!

To kill a Mockingbird is my favorite film with Gregory Peck, he was Atticus Finch, I can't imagine any other actor in that role.
Thanks for watching!
To Kill A Mockingbird and Roman Holiday are my favorites. He was wonderful in both. 🦋💜🦋
Thanks for watching, Lora!
Gregory Peck was my mother’s Hollywood heartthrob. I can certainly see why. What a class act. And handsome, too.
Amazing actors, I used to sit and watch films with my dad as a child, he was my dad's favourite. R.I.P.
I never get tired of seeing the most handsome actor in Mackenna's Gold with Omar Sharif and Telly Savalas.
They were like gods from Mt. Olympus.
Yes they were the greatest best man actors along with other good actors and actress in many movies. These great actors may have been fathered by Zeus.
Anthony Quinn too‼️🌞
You don't have enough room here for me to mention all of my fave Peck movies, but Mockingbird certainly is one. Thanks to your video, I will be renting some soon.. Thanks for such a positive piece. Oh, and as a father of three sons, I too felt for him when his son offed himself; no parent should outlive their child IMHO!
Thanks for watching, Martin!

Sorry to learn about the death of his son at age 31. I lost mine at age 33. Haunts one's life -- every day -- forever.
as a really young kid - 6 or 7 years, i fell in love with Gregory Peck. the dark handsome looks.. the noble deep voice. his old movie images still make me go weak kneed.
isn't it great to know he was as noble off camera as on...
An extremely gifted Actor RIP to a LEGEND.
Thank you for this great video. My favourite film is To Kill a Mockingbird because of the performance of Gregory Peck.
Debrorah, also "Gentleman's Agreement"
One of the greatest actors of all time, I liked him in Roman Holiday as his best performance.
Thanks for watching!
In my youth I watched all his movies and he filled it with greatness and adventure! He is someone who we should all miss as do I ! I hope his soul finds peace and happiness! He deserves only the best
We're moved by your beautiful message to Gregory Peck. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts 💗
Peck had it all. Wonderful man and actor. His voice was extraordinary.
Gregory Peck is still my favourite actor until now . Would like to know more about his family. He was so impressive in his acting and yes loved his voice too. Sad. RIP😥
I can still hear his superb voice. Wonderful all around Gentleman.
I don't think he ever made a bad film....his performance in 12 o'clock high was superb
Thanks for watching, Christopher!
He was badly miscast as F.Scott Fitzgerald in
‘’Beloved Infidel” which was a pity as it detracted from Deborah Kerr”s excellent performance.
My parents were classmates of GP at Cal. My Mom sold him notebooks when she worked at the student store. I always had a crush on him and considered him to be the most handsome, classy gentleman. Once I wrote him a birthday card and he sent me an autographed photo as Atticus Finch. What a man!!
Congrats to Tony Peck.
What you did was very far from easy!
God Bless You!
Thanks for watching, Conrad!
@@FactsVerse I love his movies to kill a mockingbird and keys to the kingd8
He was such a gorgeous man
Thanks for watching, longbranch!
If there was one actor who seemed to be grounded it was Gregory Peck! An all-time favorite!
A long time fan from India. Awesome insight in Gregory's life you have given! I loved Roman Holiday and Guns of N the most, also Omen 👍.
Agreed, and it is my favorite movie period.
His performances as Captain Horatio Hornblower and Captain Ahab are so good to enjoy. Thank you for posting.
Thanks for watching!
"To Kill a Mockingbird" was great and probably my favorite, however, I really enjoy his movie, "Captain Horatio Hornblower" as well.

Thanks for watching!
12 O'CLOCK HIGH BY FAR ONE OF THE MOST INSPIRING FILMS REGARDING TRUE LEADERSHIP. ACTORS LIKE HIM ARE VERY VERY RARE NOWDAYS R I P
Thanks for watching, Jim!
I always thought Gregory was such a handsome man.
Thanks for watching, Tamera!
The man in the The man in the grey flannel suit is my favorite. Story is real, heartbreaking and also uplifting.
Thanks for watching!
Gregory Peck was a legendary actor. He left his special underplayed acting as a mark of his talent and progressive attitude. In spite of many personal losses Peck weathered life as it came to him, always rising above turbulence. Great actor for all times!
Thanks for watching, Nupur!
Peck most handsome in the world of cinema , I lived his movie Roman holiday which is ever green movie
One of my favorites..."Gentleman's Agreement".
I love all his work, but my top three are; The Guns Of Navarone
Roman Holiday
Horatio Hornblower
.....oh swoonworthy.
Thank you for you wonderful cinematic gifts, your humility and your divine, mellifluous voice.❤
RIP you amazing man 💔
Gregory Peck”s performance in To Kill a Mockingbird was the quintessential actor that was raised in the studios.
Well said. We agree with everything you said. What other types of videos would you like to see?
Gregory Peck was always one of my favourites. His most outstanding roll was definitely in To Kill Mocking Bird. However that said I enjoyed many of his other roles as well. Thank you
Thanks for watching!
all of his works as an actor. Most of all,my choice was, KEYS of the Kingdom. Dolores Ott
He has always been one of my favourite actors." Red and the Black," is one of the best along with"Big Country.".
"Twelve O' Clock High" Probably one of the best movies concerning the effects of trauma upon veterans. Great acting by Mr. Peck in the lead role.
One of our favorites too, you've got taste! Thank you so much for the trip down memory lane.
Loved all his performances! My favorite was his portrayal of Lieutenant Joe Clemmons, in "Pork Chop Hill!"
Such a good actor. His death was a great loss for his followers and for Hollywood. He has left us with great memories. R.I.P
12 oclock high is one of my favorites. I saw Mr. Peck in the 90s at the Fort Worth Film Festival. He was still handsome and had an aura around him.
it's hard to believe that (up till now), there's only one mention of his role in "The Man in the Gray Flannel Suit". He was awesome and became a hero of mine for that performance. I'm also proud to be with him as an alumnus of UC Berkeley
Excellent movie
All his films were great, his acting was second to none... !
Thanks for watching, Pip!
His voice was recognizeable beautiful manly soothing my favorite actor.
He was a real professional actor. The WW2 film “12 O’Clock High” for various reasons will always be my favourite, but I much appreciated all your films.
My favorite actor ever!!!
Wow! Just watched To Kill a Mockingbird. My favorite is the Yearly and Roman Holiday as well!😃
Thanks for watching, Mama Sharon!
Loved him in To Kill a Mockingbird. Captain Newman MD, The Scarlett and the Black, Keys of the Kingdom, The Big Country. Never saw one of his movies I didn’t love!
