My two boys and I snuck upstairs to watch after bedtime, 11 year old and 8 year old dreams may contain bears and wolves, rafts and steep country! We love it. Thank you!
As another graybeard I always wonder how much longer I am going to be able to keep climbing these mountains in search of adventures. It is good to see another graybeard doing it and doing it well. Gives me hope. Keep up the good work, You guys are killing it!
Adam talking about all the fun he’s have with Bryan and Ryan is pretty epic, and had me rolling! Epic stuff per usual guys, thanks for keeping it real.
The film production quality continues to impress. Capturing the adventure continues to inspire so many to work hard, prepare, prepare some more and dream big. Well Done Gritty Crew and Sthealthy.
I have hunted Alaska alot, i have seen tracks, that at first i said, look a Bear track, just because of the size of the track, then you look closer and say,, Yowsa, thats no Bear track, thats a Wolf track,, look at the size of that thing, me and my Buddy watched a Lone Black Wolf run down a Caribou last year in the Brooks range,, that Caribou had a Good 500 yard lead on that wolf,, slowly he gained ground, they came off the mountain and hit the tundra, the wolf is now a 100 yards behind the Caribou,, we lost sight when they hit timber and the river,, this is at 2.30 pm,, i marked where they hit the timber,, put on them waders and lets go,, took us a hour and 20 minutes to make it down there, we are walking the river when i see something come around the bend,,, rifle comes off shoulder and Ka-pow,, that wolf had already killed the caribou and had a whole back leg in its mouth, it was a female and Bush Pilot said she was weening pups , thats why she was bringing leg to them, we did see other just caribou legs in our area, and i wondered where;s the rest of the bones, Now I know,,,,,One wolf kills one Caribou,, what does a pack of twenty do a day ??????

One of my favorite shows on RUclips for sure!! You could do a 4 hour long hunt and I could watch every minute of it!! Awesome work! Love they way you guy put shows together!
Agreed.simply seeing a kill is not as intimate as the approach, gear used, mistakes or problems, pursuit, kill, celebration, field dress, pack out. Its all interesting to me.just a kill shot video would take alot of the work done to get it done away.
Just got back from AK and trying to catch up to all the Gritty films for the last 2 months. Got so enthralled with this one I had to cook breakfast twice as the first one got charred. Thanks for all you guys do. True, honest and on point!
I liked the hour long show. It's a fairly realistic (meaning you're doing more than just showing a kill) and I enjoy the ride. Y'all are every bit of Gritty. Keep the Grit going. Also great job editing to keep the attention of the viewers and letting us know some details with the graphics.
I love Adam’s monologue. I went to high school with him, didn’t expect to see him in this video. He has the same sense of humor I remember from the old days. Early ‘90s. Nice job on the hunt guys.!!
This is hands down my new favorite channel! I’m in full on binge mode. Great stuff guys. Having gone out west and hunted, this Missouri flatlander is blown away at how tough you guys are. Fantastic stuff!
Super cool video! I really enjoy the format and vignettes you use to let us know what is going on in the different situations as well as the insets on the gear. Those rafts are cool as hell!
Thank you so much for continuing to make these awesome videos. Of all the RUclips videos out there your camera work, detail, and story telling is absolutely incredible. Thanks for helping the elk here Ryan! And I've said this before but I'll say it again. Wolves literally have a magical ability to stay out of frame. There's nothing harder to get on film then a wolf hunt!
Man I just love you guys! Brian, I enjoy the heck outta your videos. Clean I can watch in my living room without worrying about bad language. Adam’s summarizing hunting with you gents was the best part. Yesterday, I watched all episodes of the bear hunt with Pedro and then also all 4 eps of the caribou/moose hunt. Love it!! I hunt solo cause i have the same style. its hard to find guys who dont mind it. Anyway great start to the series. Stay healthy and gritty boys!
Loved it! But that was a coyote carrying that elk leg in the "did you know". Still a sweet pic and I loved the moment when Brian's eyes were in another dimension after the failed stalk.
I'm not against hunting in any way. I'm originally from PA, and I know some years the white-tails get out of hand and need some serious reduction to take place. No problem. But I AM curious about the need for predator management, especially in the aftermath of the many wildfires that have happened in the last few years. The ratio of predators to prey animals has always seemed SO low that I'd have to see some stats on the wolf and bear population, before I believe in the need for culling. This is an attempt at honest discussion. I am more than willing to listen, since I'm sure you folks have more up-to-date data than me.
A yr old and no reply because they have no good answer. I've seen the reports on wolf populations state by state and they always improve the eco systems, rivers, large and small game in the area. There is a good video on the reintroduction of wolves to Yellowstone that proves this both by Fish & Game and Park Services. People that hunt like this just enjoy killing and the ego gets a kick out of it. They actually enjoy the kill. Most hunters I know that hunt for food don't actually enjoy killing their game but honor the kill by using every bit of it for survival. This is for sport. Its pretty sick if you ask me. Anyone feel free to honestly chime in without arguing.
@@garrettsmith8286 -- If you scroll through the comment section of this video you'll find at least 30 responses (if not more) to this same exact question. Although I work very hard to respond to the sincere comments posted to my channel, I cannot get them all. No doubt, wolves are a healthy and natural component of the ecosystem. And so are humans. Wild game meat provides nearly 500 million pounds (low estimate) of natural, sustainable, healthy protein to the U.S. population. If you eliminate that source of healthy, organic protein for the human population, you must replace it somehow. Mass feedlots and increased monoculture crops are the typical solution, which encroaches on existing habitat and is wholly unnatural and bad for the environment and less than ideal for human health as well. In and around Yellowstone, wolves kills nearly 12,000 elk per year. Humans account for 25,000 elk kills per year; but that number used to be far greater than that. Ecosystems strive for equilibrium--the more elk killed by wolves, the more wolves grow (unchecked) in number and the more elk the wolves will consume to live. Feeding all of the nations elk and deer to an unchecked wolf population is the height of arrogance and stupidity. Divorce your emotions from this discussion. Wolves are incredible animals--but I don't give them special privileges--they aren't more important to me than the rest of the animals in the nature. Wolves don't look so majestic when they rip a baby calf elk out of its mother during birth. Or when a pack of wolves move into an area and decimate the moose herd. And we don't hunt wolves recklessly--we hunt wolves as part of an overall game management plan that balances the well-being of ALL the animals in an ecosystem. This wolf was legally harvested and killed based on sound biological and ecological studies. Sound wildlife management starts to fall apart and animals suffer when emotions get in the way of logic. The wild is my backyard--I'm a student of nature. I spend nearly 150 days per year on the mountain. The ignorance of city people is insufferable. The U.S. population is inundated by pro-wolf propaganda that preys on the emotions of the ignorant. Spend 150 days per year in the wilds of our nation without cell phone and the conveniences of modern life and just observe nature. Then come back and talk to me about wolves when you've actually lived it. We eat what we kill and almost nothing else. We don't buy meat at the grocery store. And we grow a lot of our own food as well. I'm all for sharing the elk, moose and deer populations with the wolves--but the key word is "share." Which means the wolf population must be hunted the same as deer and elk are hunted; why should wolves get a free pass? The idea of not hunting wolves is utter nonsense to anyone with a basic understanding of the wild. An unchecked wolf population will reach equilibrium and that equilibrium has a cost--it isn't free. That cost is a massive decrease in the available protein for human consumption and the need to replace it with far less eco-friendly alternatives. Or, we hunt and trap wolves in a controlled, legal manner per wildlife management objectives determined by our state and national wildlife biologists--I choose this.
Awesome show guys. I agree longer is better on the shows. 1 hour seems like a really good time for me. My boss may not agree since I am watching while at work.....lol....thanks for the awesome content guys.
Watch a lot of videos w/like content but I really liked you guys! The bummer is you said your videos aren’t usually this long but I didn’t want it to end! Great job
FINALLY got a chance to sit down and watch this one. Awesome wolf, I’m not sure I’ve ever seen Ryan that amped, what an epic couple days. Can’t wait to see the rest of em guys keep it up!!
On of the best hunting shows on RUclips! I can’t wait to hunt fall black bear! Also love the long episodes, the more content the better. Come hunt fall black bear in Cali!
I saw one of the pics of you guys with the wolf and was immediately blown away at the rugged country and the size and beauty of that wolf! Amazing trip and the level of physicality was off the chart! Great job on the hunt and putting this film together. Well done!
I LOVE the longer episodes!!! What a fantastic surprise with Ryan’s wolf. Great episode, I was so excited for episode 2 after this one. I wish episode 2 was as long. But great bear!!! I hope you get the one that gave you slip. I’ll be anxiously standing by. 😉👍
super cool stuff! I will say it llooked steep and deep and usually the camera never depicts the actual steepness of the terrain so watching that made me think, damn that looks steep!!! Thanks for sharing!
Great job! As always, I like all of the interesting facts and gear pointers/ads. Keep them coming. This film captured the namesake “Gritty”. You all are obviously tolerant of discomfort and it shows in everything from tick attacks, sleeping on a slope, grinding the inclines to Lampers running his bino strap all twisted up 😂. Good lord! That would drive some folks batty. Way to go Adam, you are hanging with the grittiest. And, Randy Newberg is definitely hoping, all week, that you eat the wolf. He’s all over it. I’m looking forward to Sundays!🤘🏼
Loved watching the video I enjoy the terrain you were hunting very grueling hike. That's what separates most videos from yours , you guys are animals I love it.

first time viewer, i really didn't think i would sit through the whole hour but it was all around a solid watch. Great job guys.
1st time viewer. Can't wait to watch more. Great job.
Welcome aboard!
Awesome show guys. I agree longer is better on the shows. 1 hour seems like a really good time for me. My boss may not agree since I am watching while at work.....lol....thanks for the awesome content guys.
Nice work guys, keep up the good work! Can’t wait to see XL get hammered on the next episode!
Watch a lot of videos w/like content but I really liked you guys! The bummer is you said your videos aren’t usually this long but I didn’t want it to end! Great job
Another great film. Wolf is on the bucket list. Can’t wait for EP. 2
Absolutely great video. Love it when all we hear is nature’s music. Great job guys !!
FINALLY got a chance to sit down and watch this one. Awesome wolf, I’m not sure I’ve ever seen Ryan that amped, what an epic couple days. Can’t wait to see the rest of em guys keep it up!!
Great video as always. The wolf encounter was awesome. Really like the information bubbles also. Keep up the good work.
Great episode! And even better wolf. Congratulations
The elk will sleep good tonight. Good job.
The real hero of these hunts is the cameraman for sure
On of the best hunting shows on RUclips! I can’t wait to hunt fall black bear! Also love the long episodes, the more content the better. Come hunt fall black bear in Cali!
I saw one of the pics of you guys with the wolf and was immediately blown away at the rugged country and the size and beauty of that wolf! Amazing trip and the level of physicality was off the chart! Great job on the hunt and putting this film together. Well done!
Watching your video for the first time. Very informative and entertaining!
Unreal episode! Ryan is right, the longer the video the better. I really enjoyed this one! Looking forward to the next episode, I'll be watching!!
Always awesome films. Shooting that wolf was cool. That doesn't happen every day. Keep up the great work. Thanks
That intro view is amazing!!!! 😮 😮😮
😂😂😂 Thanks Todd!
Loved watching the video I enjoy the terrain you were hunting very grueling hike. That's what separates most videos from yours , you guys are animals I love it.
Look forward to watching this every year. Amazing stuff! Thanks B
I don't think most people understand how much time and effort goes into making one of these videos. Thank you
