- Joystick controlled cutting machine cuts the large oak wood to length then sizes it for height. Then a forklift takes it to a 5 blade band saw to slice it to size. Then on to the pallet machine.
Thanks for the video great work. And thank you to the savages that show up everyday to do a job most people don't even think about. Doesn't look like fun but they get it done.
Flimsy pallets, that can only be picked up from one side, the side that never faces you in the warehouse, and crumble when you try and turn the pallet around with your forks!

safety nightmare-no hearing protection, no eye protection, unguarded moving parts, container labeling, oil in drink bottle, horrible place to work. Very labor intensive and probably very low wages and no benefits. Typical

I watched the first 5 minutes and thought, "What a sucky ass job this would be." Damn...I feel bad for the people who work this job but give them credit for hanging in there.

Very interesting process.. This might make an interesting industry on my model RR.. I want a sawmill.. once cut what now?? this could be the answer..a pallet industry.. would use a small footprint compared to some industries.. The disgarded pieces along with sawdust could be mixed with formaldehyde and made into chip board...Thanks for sharing.

I've never been where they make the pallets but my old company use to buy them because I unloaded them from this place.

Those were non side notch pallets! Not all pallets have side notches!

i wear ear buds daily and can still talk to people and hear the radio. it just softens loud sounds

If the machine is down temporarily or if there’s a broken pallet you pull it off the line, take off the broken board and put on a new one with the nail gun then throw it back in the line

Are pallets ever treated with chemicals to make them rot-resistant?
Not that I am aware of but they do get heat treated for shipping over seas.

I would not burn pine wood in a stove.
I think they make wains coat this way too, well run and clean, must make something out of chips as they have plenty of material but the quality of the wood is real poor
all this kind of pallets are made by raw wood, it is a hugy consum of wood forests, now the waste wood can be made into pallets in one shiping cycle, it is called presswood pallets, you can serach for us palletmach.com

Interesting! Have you thought about using automated timber stacker? There is this Pallet Board Stacker - it is up to 15 rows with spacers, but there is one with 25 as well, I think!

the quality of the pallets is not good. Check out EU pallets much stronger construction
+tobbzor stringer pallets are a lot weaker than block pallets
+Backbone that's like a semi driver looking at a car and saying I can't haul 45000 lbs on this thing what good is it the customer must have wanted a cheap pallet to fit the product and it may be a one trip they never see it again
Stronger = heavier. Heavier = less product in the truck or rr car. Less product = higher shipping costs.
